49ers EDGE draws massive respect in exec, coach, scout positional rankings for 2025
Bosa, 27, played collegiately at Ohio Sate from 2016-18, winning Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year and earning All-Big Ten and All-American honors in 2017.
The 49ers took him in the first round (No. 2 overall) of the 2019 NFL draft, and since then he's racked up five Pro Bowls, one All-Pro selection, a Defensive Rookie of the Year Award and Defensive Player of the Year Award. He's also totaled 261 tackles (87 for a loss), 165 quarterback hits, 62.5 sacks, 11 forced fumbles, nine passes defensed, four fumble recoveries and two interceptions.
On Wednesday, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler released the results of his annual EDGE rankings with votes from NFL executives, coaches and scouts. In that poll, Bosa was ranked as the fifth-best EDGE in the league.
"His leverage, explosiveness, power and polished rush arsenal are unmatched," an NFL personnel director said. "He has the same rush moves as [brother] Joey Bosa but with better play strength to win in a variety of ways."
Ahead of Bosa in these rankings are Cleveland's Myles Garrett, Pittsburgh's T.J. Watt, Dallas' Micah Parsons and Las Vegas' Maxx Crosby while Cincinnati's Trey Hendrickson, Detroit's Aidan Hutchinson, Houston's Will Anderson, Houston's Danielle Hunter and Los Angeles' Jared Verse round out the top 10.
Bosa was ranked fourth in the league heading into 2024, but he missed three games last season and finished with his fewest quarterback hits and sacks since 2020 when he played in just two games due to a torn ACL.
The 49ers are going to need Bosa to be the best version of himself if they want to succeed in 2025, and if he can accomplish that feat, he could move back up in these rankings ahead of the 2026 NFL season.

Luke Kornet reveals how he can fit with Victor Wembanyama, Dylan Harper
The post Luke Kornet reveals how he can fit with Victor Wembanyama, Dylan Harper appeared first on ClutchPoints. A week into the start of NBA free agency and with the moratorium lifted, the San Antonio Spurs signed their only non-draft addition to this point. And Luke Kornet is wasting no time thinking about what could be. Advertisement In his introduction to the San Antonio media, the eight-year veteran rattled off the Spurs key players, noting how he can fit alongside Victor Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper. 'I think it's pretty exciting because I feel like, obviously, Victor's got great skills. Then De'Aaron, Stephon and getting (Spurs drafting) Dylan Harper. So, I feel like there's a good mix.' Luke Kornet details his fit in with the Spurs A 7-footer, Kornet described how effective he can be with Wemby, whom the Spurs have spent the last two years building around. 'Obviously, Victor's talented where I feel like we could be able to play together. I did that some with Kristaps Porzingis in Boston in the past year and Al Horford,' the former Boston Celtic said. 'I feel like having a lot of experience with that both defensively and offensively and how to be able to play.' Advertisement Kornet spent the last three-plus seasons with the Celtics, which proved a second stint in Boston. In that time, he became a vital part of a team that won the 2024 NBA championship led by Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Derrick White. It serves as another experience Kornet can take with him to the Alamo City. 'Being able to be a good pick and roll partner with a lot of the downhill guards,' the Vanderbilt graduate said before pivoting to his other skills. 'I feel like, for me, the keys to my game, especially now, are just protecting the rim, which I feel me and Victor could be, obviously, really competent together, especially when he's off the floor, being able to provide that.' The Spurs have lacked a quality big man to pair next to Wembayama since they took him with the top overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. San Antonio started Zach Collins next to Wemby early in the French phenom's rookie season, but as Wembanyama's game evolved, so did his team's lineups. Charles Bassey, Bismack Biyombo and Sandro Mamukelashvili have taken turns trying spell the Spurs star player through Rookie of the Year and All-Star seasons. Advertisement 'Offensive rebounds also become a big part of just being able to add possession,' Kornet added on how else he can help fill the void. 'So, a fun part about it is that it's going to look different than what it has a year before me. Every single year of playing is kind of like a new situation of figuring out how to best play,' the Lexington, Kentucky native who played his high school ball in Texas continued. 'I'm looking forward to figuring out the optimal way with this group and with how Mitch [Spurs Coach Mitch Johnson] wants us to play, just start integrating that and finding out what those best answers are.' The Spurs think they've found at least one answer on their end. Kevin Durant's grateful message to Suns after Rockets trade
The post Kevin Durant's grateful message to Suns after Rockets trade appeared first on ClutchPoints. After a tumultuous 2024-25 season, Kevin Durant is on the move once again. The Phoenix Suns honored their star scorer's wish to be traded, sending him to the Houston Rockets as a part of a seven-team trade that will shake up the landscape in the Western Conference. Advertisement In return for Durant, the Suns got Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and draft capital. Ever since the move, much of the discussion has surrounded how Durant will fit into the Rockets' system and whether Houston can compete for a championship with him leading the way. However, before he gets to any of that, Durant sent a gracious message to the Suns and their fans on social media. 'My time in Phoenix has come to an end. All these stops along the journey have really impacted me in a positive way,' Durant wrote. 'Remember it's a world behind the scenes, and those who make things work in that space, work tirelessly to make our lives easier as players. I appreciate all the quick interactions with everybody from support staff to teammates distant cousins, it's all a family that I'm grateful to be apart of, no matter what. I truly believe this nba is a one big community. Much love to Arizona. Houston, Can't Wait!' Durant and the Suns crashed and burned last season as the Big Three of him, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal struggled to stay healthy and mesh on the court. Now, he heads to another new situation where he will have the opportunity to help a young Rockets team that showed plenty of promise last season get over the hump. Advertisement Durant struggled with injuries at times last season, playing in just 62 games. However, when he was on the court, he still averaged 26.6 points per game on efficient shooting and was named an All-Star. There is no question that, if healthy, Durant gives the Rockets exactly what they need and what they were missing last season during the playoffs against the Golden State Warriors. While he didn't reach his goals with Phoenix, it's clear that his time there helped him and will continue to be a benefit as he makes his way to Houston. Rockets' Kevin Durant transformation video after Suns trade is sick
The post Rockets' Kevin Durant transformation video after Suns trade is sick appeared first on ClutchPoints. Kevin Durant will enter a new phase of his career with the Houston Rockets once the NBA season tips off. His new team already feels like they've acquired a premier talent that will allow them to make a legitimate NBA Finals run. Advertisement The Rockets' social media team recently posted a transformation video in anticipation of Durant's arrival. The video shows real footage of the two-time champion in a Phoenix Suns uniform and uses a fire effect to transition to a version of the video that includes Durant in a Rockets jersey. 'It's our lucky day,' said the post's caption. Durant was traded to the Rockets late last month. The deal ended months of speculation regarding the Suns' intentions for the 15-time All-Star. There were whispers that Phoenix shopped Durant prior to the 2025 NBA trade deadline, and it became clear that the franchise was ready to pivot away from its current roster construction. Advertisement '[The Suns] wanted me to go,' Durant told Kay Adams shortly after the trade was reported. 'They got what they wanted, and I got what I wanted. We can move on, and good luck to them going forward. Always remember my time there, but we're on to something else.' The deal ultimately included seven teams and required the Rockets to trade Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, and other key assets. Following a 52-30 season that saw them fall to the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the postseason, it was evident that Houston needed an offensive boost. Last season, the team ranked 27th in effective field goal percentage on off-the-dribble jumpers and 24th in effective field goal percentage on all jumpers. Durant figures to add an immediate solution. The crafty veteran is known for his scoring prowess. He averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists across 62 games last season, and led the NBA in points per direct isolation among players to run 200 isolations during the same campaign. 'Kevin impacts the game on both ends of the court and is one of the most efficient scorers in the history of basketball,' Rockets general manager Rafael Stone said. 'We liked the growth our team showed last season and believe Kevin's skill set will integrate seamlessly.' Advertisement The 37-year-old has seen it all, and he is ready to leave the desert behind and catch fire in Space City.
