Mediacorp celebrates SG60 with exciting events and programmes including a concert featuring Kit Chan and Taufik Batisah
One of the highlights is the Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day concert happening on Sunday (Aug 3) at The Meadow from 4.30pm.
Concertgoers can expect a fun, family-friendly evening packed with carnival activities, dazzling fireworks and performances by Singapore's beloved local artistes, including Kit Chan, Taufik Batisah, Hady Mirza and Yung Raja.

If you can't make it in person, catch the concert on Aug 16 at 7.30pm on mewatch, Mediacorp Entertainment on YouTube and Channel 5.
The celebration continues through Mediacorp's SG60 content slate, spotlighting stories that honour our resilience, heritage and growing identity.
One such programme is the heartwarming English documentary series On The Red Dot: Museum of U & Me, featuring hosts Gurmit Singh and Oon Shu An as they explore personal stories behind everyday objects found in Singapore homes.
Another is the CNA docuseries Shaping Tomorrow, which showcases local brands shaping Singapore's future.
Sports fans can catch two world-class events airing on mewatch and Channel 5. First up, the World Aquatics Championships – Singapore 2025, which runs until Aug 3. Then, there's the Toyota World Para Swimming Championships – Singapore 2025, which takes place from Sep 21 to 27 and will feature over 600 top para swimmers from more than 60 nations, including our very own world champion, Yip Pin Xiu.

Former South Korea coach Shin takes over at Ulsan HD
South Korean champions Ulsan HD have appointed former national team manager Shin Tae-yong as their coach, the K-League club said on Tuesday. The 54-year-old replaces Kim Pan-gon, who left Ulsan by mutual consent after the weekend's 3-2 loss to Suwon FC. Shin, who led South Korea at the 2018 World Cup and most recently worked as Indonesia coach, takes over with Ulsan seventh in the standings, 23 points adrift of leaders Jeonbuk Motors after 24 matches. Kim left after 13 months in the role having replaced Hong Myung-bo following his appointment as South Korea coach in July last year. Kim guided the club to the league title last season and was in charge during their involvement in the Club World Cup in the United States in June. Ulsan's first game under Shin, who last worked in the K-League in 2012 at Seongnam Ilhwa, is on Saturday against Jeju United.

Four new young Tasmanian devils join Night Safari
SINGAPORE: The Night Safari has welcomed four new Tasmanian devils to its Tasmanian Devil Trail. Three-year-old males Cogsworth, Lumière, and Scuttle, and female Cuttlefish will join the existing trio of Tasmanian devils already residing at the park. All seven animals are part of the global Tasmanian Devil Programme, which manages and safeguards the species amid ongoing threats in the wild, most notably a contagious cancer known as Devil Facial Tumour Disease. The new arrivals are being introduced to their new habitat gradually, with the Night Safari's animal care team closely monitoring their adaptation and interactions. According to the park, the three males will share one exhibit, while the females will occupy another. The two groups will rotate through the enclosures from time to time. The Tasmanian devil, known for its stocky frame, black fur, and powerful jaws, is the world's largest surviving carnivorous marsupial. Despite its name and fierce reputation, the creature is a shy scavenger that plays a key role in keeping ecosystems clean by feeding on carrion. The Tasmanian Devil Trail also showcases other Australian natives such as kiwis, gliding mice, and bandicoots. From August 8, the Night Safari will launch a new interactive zone where guests can get up close and personal with red-necked wallabies and even feed them.
