When is the wedding scheduled to take place?
As billionaire entrepreneur and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos readies to tie the knot with fiancée Lauren Sánchez in a star-studded ceremony in Venice, attention has once again turned to one of the world's most extravagant personal vessels—the superyacht Koru.Arriving in Italy aboard the grand sailing yacht, Bezos was seen alongside Sánchez at the historic Aman Hotel, heightening anticipation for what is being described as one of the most glamorous weddings of the year, as mentioned in a report by USA Today.Koru, built by Dutch shipyard Oceanco, holds the distinction of being the largest sailing yacht globally, measuring an estimated 417 feet in length. The three-masted schooner is painted in a signature midnight blue, featuring three jacuzzis, an expansive pool on the upper deck, and multiple viewing levels. The masts, towering at around 230 feet, are comparable in height to the Great Pyramid of Giza. Originally mired in controversy due to plans to dismantle a historic Rotterdam bridge to facilitate its transfer, the vessel was ultimately delivered to Mallorca in 2023 after its masts were transported separately to avoid public backlash. The yacht's name, Koru, derives from the Māori word symbolizing a spiral, referencing new beginnings, renewal, and personal growth. Bezos, 61, reportedly selected the name to reflect a fresh chapter in life, now marked by his relationship with Sánchez, a 55-year-old former TV journalist.A support vessel accompanies Koru, aptly named Abeona, after the Roman goddess associated with departures and safe travels. The yacht's design is a product of Dykstra Naval Architecture, while the interior has been curated by Mlinaric Henry & Zervudachi. The décor blends natural wood tones with warm neutral palettes and bespoke textiles, lending a sense of timeless elegance, Oceanco confirmed. There was speculation about the yacht's figurehead resembling Sánchez. However, she clarified in a 2023 Vogue interview that it actually depicts Freyja, the Norse goddess of love and war—one of Bezos's favorite mythological figures.Bezos proposed to Sánchez on board Koru during a romantic voyage at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, where he hid a pink diamond engagement ring under her pillow. The intimate moment, as described by Sánchez, left her momentarily overwhelmed. While the couple remains discreet about the exact date, reports indicate the three-day wedding celebration will take place between June 26 and 28, attended by nearly 200 guests. High-profile figures such as Oprah Winfrey, Diane von Furstenberg, Salma Hayek, Mick Jagger, Ivanka Trump, and Kim Kardashian are expected to join the festivities. The Bezos-Sánchez nuptials follow a trend of elite weddings in Venice, joining the likes of George and Amal Clooney and Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault.Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and billionaire entrepreneur, is preparing to marry his fiancée Lauren Sánchez, in a star-studded, three-day wedding ceremony in Venice, Italy. While the exact date has not been officially confirmed, reports suggest the wedding celebrations will span from June 26 to June 28, 2025.

Bengaluru basks in the vivid colours of The Real Van Gogh Immersive Experience

While there 'ain't nothing like the real thing', it pays to check out what comes the closest. Whether one is an ardent art-lover or amateur, rich or famous, it would be next to impossible to catch all of Van Gogh's art in one place. Many of the works by the Dutch Post-Impressionist are in museums around the world or in private collections, so a show such as this is an eye-opener to his oeuvre. The Real Van Gogh Immersive Experience begins when you step into the cafe with its wooden benches and bright, yellow sunflowers to await your turn. The walls are dotted with a few of the artist's popular prints and a photo corner that is a replica of his Bedroom in Arles. Shows are slotted every half hour and the first stop is the Education Room where sections of the artist's life are set against the backdrop of his art works, followed by a stint in the Infinity Room. The Infinity Room, with thousands of serial lights strung up from the ceiling, pays homage to two of Van Gogh's most recognised works — The Starry Night and Starry Night Over the Rhone. Swathes of yellow and blue cover the floor, while distorted mirrors line the walls and ceiling, resulting in a swirl of colour and light. A sense of illusion is complete as you wander around and you do lose track of time, in this fittingly named room. But, since re-entry into each space is not allowed, you really do not mind the amusingly contorted images that show up all around. However, seen as a window into the artist's despair it can be quite sobering. The Immersive Room is where the magic unfolds and visitors can experience Gogh's art up close. Brush strokes and vivid colour come alive and the organisers have taken care to include some of his lesser known works such as Courtesan from his Japanese series and portraits of acquaintances, among the 70 hand-picked pieces on display. After the 30-minute show, you exit via The Store where some of Van Gogh's most popular works adorn keychains, mugs, totes and t-shirts. Prints and postcards of his works are available too. The Real Van Gogh Immersive Experience is at Bharatiya Mall Of Bengaluru till July 13, 2025. Tickets starting at ₹499 for children and ₹899 for adults available on District. From 10am to 9.30pm on weekends, from noon to 9.30pm Monday to Friday. Last entry at 9pm on all days.

Inside the Buckingham Palace, with 775 rooms, including 200 bedrooms and 92 offices

If you've ever stood outside Buckingham Palace, pressed against its iron gates for a glimpse of royalty, you're not alone. Millions visit it every year, but only a lucky few walk through its magnificent halls. If you're unable to visit the palace, here's an immersive peek inside the most iconic royal residence in the world. With 775 rooms, including 200 bedrooms and 92 offices, Buckingham Palace is a kingdom unto itself. But access is limited. The entrance for visitors? Gate C at Buckingham Gate, not the East Front flooded with cameras and hopeful tourists. Once past airport-style security and with your complimentary audio guide in hand, the experience begins at The Quadrangle. It's only when you pass into the Grand Entrance, however, that the real magic begins. The Grand Staircase, climbed by presidents and monarchs alike, leads you into opulent rooms: Don't forget to check out the chandeliers, the ceilings—everything is decked out in red and gold. Next, you'll pass the Picture Gallery, with artworks by Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Dutch masters. For art lovers, it's a dream. The Ball Supper Room, currently exhibiting the Queen's personal jewellery, including the Diamond Diadem seen on stamps and currency, is a dazzling display. But the real showstopper is the Grand Ballroom, where state banquets and knighting ceremonies take place. From there, you explore the 1844 Room, the Blue Drawing Room, the Music Room (home to royal christenings), and the White Drawing Room, where VIPs like the US President meet the Queen, who may just appear via a hidden 'secret' door behind a bureau. Outside, the Palace Gardens offer a quieter experience, where the Queen prefers wildlife over humans. The tennis court and swimming pool are off-limits, but you can partake in afternoon tea made by the Palace's own caterers. For true royal enthusiasts, a visit to The Queen's Gallery and The Royal Mews is essential. The former showcases ever-changing royal art exhibitions, like Japanese artefacts gifted to the monarch. The latter is home to Her Majesty's carriages and horses, including the Gold State Coach. Tours of the State Rooms and Palace Gardens are open during the Queen's absence—mainly late July to September. Tickets can be booked via Nearest Tube stations are Green Park and St. James' Park, each just five minutes away. Avoid driving, parking is a nightmare, of course. And don't forget: no photos inside the State Rooms!
