Melania Trump, a life in pictures: From modeling to motherhood to first lady
Married to President Donald Trump since 2005, the first lady got her start modeling when she was a teenager — and more than 25 years later, she's still in the public eye.
Below are some quick facts about Melania Trump, from modeling to motherhood to first lady.
Slovenian model Melania Trump was born April 26, 1970.
Married to billionaire Donald Trump, Melania Trump began her modeling career at age 16 and moved to New York in 1996. The couple met in 1998, became engaged in 2004 and married in 2005.
All of this was before Trump became the 45th and 47th president of the United States, before Melania became a mom to Barron Trump (Trump's youngest child of five), and before Mar-a-Lago, site of the billionaire's wedding reception, became known as the Southern White House when Trump was in office.

Then Melania Knauss (Melania Knauss was a name change and her original name is Melanija Knavs), the Slovenian "began modeling at age 16, and two years later she signed on with an agency in Milan. She enrolled at the University of Ljubljana but dropped out after one year to pursue her modeling career," according to the Melania Trump bio on biography.com.
In her early days of modeling, the site states, Melania Trump worked in Milan and Paris, before moving to New York in 1996. She met her future husband Donald Trump two years later, at a New York fashion party.
Melania often appeared on 'The Apprentice' with Donald Trump when he was host of the reality TV show on NBC. She also accompanied Trump to lavish parties at his private club, Mar-a-Lago.
Melania Knauss appeared on the covers of Harper's Bazaar (Bulgaria edition), Vanity Fair (Italy edition), GQ (for which she posed nude in January 2000) and she appeared in a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
The Trumps became engaged in 2004 and married Jan. 25, 2005, in Palm Beach, Florida. Their reception was held at the 'Donald J. Trump Grand Ballroom' at Mar-a-Lago, which is less than 3 miles from wedding venue Bethesda-By-the-Sea Episcopal Church. The ballroom cost $35 million and was built in a Versailles-inspired Louis XIV style, including several Czechoslovakian crystal chandeliers, according to the Palm Beach Daily News.
In 2006, Donald Trump became a father for the fifth time when his third wife Melania Trump gave birth to Barron Trump on March 20, 2006, in Manhattan, New York.
Melania Trump raised Barron Trump for much of his childhood at Trump Tower in Manhattan and at Donald Trump's private estate, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.
When Donald Trump moved to Washington, D.C., to serve as president in 2017, Melania Trump and Barron Trump stayed in New York so Barron could finish up his school year. Barron and Melania Trump remained in New York for the first five months of the Trump administration.
During his term as president from 2017 to 2021, Trump, Melania and Barron also stayed at Mar-a-Lago during Palm Beach's "social season," roughly from October through April. It became known as the Winter White House or the Southern White House. While Trump used his New York City address as his main residency for years, he made Mar-a-Lago his primary residency in 2019. After Donald Trump relocated with Melania and Barron to Palm Beach, Florida, in 2019, his adult children and their families followed suit.
Melania Trump was the first lady of the U.S. from 2017 to 2021.
After Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election on Nov. 5, 2024, he was sworn in for a second time Jan. 20, 2025, or Inauguration Day, as the 47th president of the United States. Melania Trump became the first lady for a second time.

Trump denies responsibility in 'Late Show' cancellation, Stephen Colbert's firing
President Donald Trump, while still celebrating the demise of his late-night TV foe "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," is distancing himself as the reason for the show's abrupt cancellation. "Everybody is saying that I was solely responsible for the firing of Stephen Colbert from CBS, Late Night. That is not true!" he wrote in a July 29 Truth Social post. The reason he was fired was a pure lack of TALENT, and the fact that this deficiency was costing CBS $50 Million Dollars a year in losses — and it was only going to get WORSE!" Colbert announced on July 17 that "The Late Show" would be ending in May after more than 30 years, with CBS parent company Paramount Global calling it "purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night." A week later, following speculation by critics and outspoken celebrities that this was a politically motivated move, Paramount obtained FCC approval for an $8.4 billion merger with Skydance Media. While "The Late Show" is the top rated in the 11:30 p.m. slot, it was losing a reported $40 million a year. The day after Colbert's announcement, Trump celebrated the 30-year-old show's cancellation, writing, "I absolutely love that Colbert' got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings." 'Gutless': David Letterman unleashes on Paramount over 'Late Show' cancellation Trump claims Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are 'next up' In his July 29 post, Trump once again put his other late-night adversaries, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon, on notice. "Next up will be an even less talented Jimmy Kimmel, and then, a weak, and very insecure, Jimmy Fallon. The only real question is, who will go first?" the former "The Apprentice" star wrote. "Show biz and television is a very simple business. If you get ratings, you can say or do anything. If you don't, you always become a victim. Colbert became a victim to himself, the other two will follow." A week prior, he went after "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," claiming without evidence that they would be "next to go." "It's really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it!" he added. Fallon's contract with NBCUniversal will keep him at the network through 2028. Kimmel extended his contract in 2022 through his show's current 23rd season. Kimmel quickly fired back on Instagram by posting a screenshot of the president's post alongside the caption, "I know you're busy Sharpie-ing the Epstein files, but this seems like a weird way to tell people to watch Matt Damon and Ken Jennings on an all-new Who Wants to Be a Millionaire tomorrow night at 8|7c on @ABC."

Shocking 'America's Got Talent' act leaves judges Mel B and Sofia Vergara shuddering in fear: 'So scary!'
A couple of America's Got Talent contestants just made judges Mel B and Sofia Vergara part of the act, much to their distress. It happened on Tuesday's episode when two buff contestants took the stage, where they had set up a makeshift gym, not to lift heavy dumbbells but to throw them to each other. The men, Darien Johnson and Scott Mathison, explained that they found each other through social media, where they both share their extreme workouts. They've since collaborated on videos that have received up to two million views. After the former Spice Girl gave them a positive review — "that must be hard work!" — she and Vergara were invited to take the stage, without a description of what they'd be doing. The women were then instructed to stand back-to-back, after which the performers began to toss the the weights over their heads. "If you had to lose one, which one would it be?" their fellow judge Simon Cowell joked to Howie Mandel. Meanwhile, the women were visibly rattled by what was happening around them. "I don't want to be here," Vergara protested, although she stayed in place. Mel B insisted that Vergara "hold my hand!" She kept her eyes squeezed shut. In all, Johnson and Mathison passed the huge barbels back and forth over their heads six times. When it was over, the two judges hugged. As they walked back to their seats, Vergara noted that the experience had been "so scary." Mel B raved: "Oh my god. What you do is proper. Fit and hot." It was a first for the show, Vergara thought. And she appreciated the act too: "It looks really hard. Looking at your bodies, I can tell."Cowell and Mandel were also fans. "I think it's entertaining," Mandel said in his assessment. "It's a strength act. It's an agility act. It inspires people to be in shape. I think you checked a lot of boxes. I loved it." All four judges gave the act the go-ahead, which means they will face off against contestants doing equally dangerous acts such as roller-skating while performing aerialist stunts or throwing knives. America's Got Talent airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, with the Live Shows beginning Aug. 19. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

Stephen Colbert Tells Donald Trump To 'Go F*ck Yourself' After ‘The Late Show' Axing
In case anyone worried Stephen Colbert was going to go quietly into the night after CBS canceled The Late Show, it's clear he won't. In a clip posted from Tuesday's show, Colbert responded to President Donald Trump's gleeful social media post about his firing. More from Deadline Late-Night Solidarity: Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, John Oliver, Jon Stewart & Andy Cohen Show Up To 'The Late Show' To Support Stephen Colbert Late-Night TV Is On The Precipice After CBS Axes Stephen Colbert; Insiders Lament 'End Of An Era' Musicians Union Condemns 'Colbert' Cancellation, Says Now "Is A Time For Courage, Not Cowardice" 'How dare you, sir? Would an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism? Go f*ck yourself,' he said into the 'Eloquence Cam.' The crowd roared and chanted his name. Trump celebrated the surprise cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in a Truth Social post. 'I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.' In reference to Trump's Kimmel comment, Colbert joked that no one was going to take this rather strange moment away from him. 'Absolutely not, Kimmel. I am the martyr. There's only room for one on this cross and I gotta tell you, the view is fantastic from up here,' he added. The Late Show was at the center of a protest from fans earlier in the evening with crowds descending on the Ed Sullivan Theater to chant 'Colbert Stays! Trump Must Go!' Colbert is expected to be joined by a number of his fellow late-night hosts on the show tonight including Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, John Oliver and Jon Stewart. Check back later for more coverage. CBS announced Thursday it was axing The Late Show for 'financial reasons,' even though Colbert has been at the top of the late-night ratings.
