Style Edit: At Watches and Wonders 2025 in Geneva, Tag Heuer wowed with timepiece innovations designed to set hearts racing, plus a spectacular Formula 1 pit stop that dominated Palexpo

Certain novelties were clearly designed to set hearts racing at the fair, not least the
Tag Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph F1 with its celebratory 10-piece limited run. Housed in the model's signature square 41mm case – this year in ceramic – is the split-seconds chronograph calibre TH81-00. This movement, one of the lightest made by Tag Heuer, allows timekeepers to measure two separate time intervals, perfect for tracking laps. The watch itself is all white with a translucent red-tinted dial that 'captures the sheer adrenaline of race day'.

Meanwhile, the brand also reintroduced a silhouette from the 1980s with the
Tag Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph, which comes in at 38mm in steel with a sandblasted and DLC-coated finish. The funky design lends itself well to the nine colourways shown at the fair, including bold shades of green, blue, white, black and yellow.

The movement itself is modern and convenient, with just two minutes of exposure to direct sunlight enough to power the watch for an entire day. Fully charged, from less than 40 hours in the sun, the watch can run for up to 10 months without further charging, while the battery boasts a 15-year lifespan.
For fans of the brand's more discreet designs, Tag Heuer also
updated its Carrera Day-Date line. The time, day and date configuration now sees new dial colours like blue or smoky red, and a variety of accents over black dials including rose gold or an orange seconds hand.

To take things further, the brand introduced a teal-dialled Carrera Date Twin-Time. With the date at six o'clock, the piece has an internal 24-hour scale in teal and white, with a rhodium-plated and red-lacquered GMT hand. Tag Heuer's ties to
Formula One and motorsport were made abundantly clear this year, driven home by a quote from Senna himself: 'I'm not designed to come second or third. I'm designed to win,' which adorns the brand's latest ad campaign.

Verstappen confirms he will remain at Red Bull in 2026
Verstappen confirms he will remain at Red Bull in 2026 The announcement ends weeks of speculation on the reigning world champion's future. Photo: Reuters Max Verstappen ended weeks of speculation about his future on Thursday when the reigning Formula One world champion said he would be staying with Red Bull in 2026. Verstappen said it was time to "stop all the rumours". "I've never really said anything about it because I was just focused on talking to the team about how we can improve our performance," the Dutchman explained at the Hungaroring circuit ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix. "And that's why I had nothing really to add, but I think it's time to basically stop all the rumours," he added. "For me, it's always been quite clear that I was staying anyway." Four-time world champion Verstappen's future became a subject of speculation after rival driver George Russell revealed his Mercedes team were talking to the Dutchman's management about his future plans. It emerged that there was a performance clause in Verstappen's contract that offered him a chance to leave Red Bull if he was not in the top three at the end of July. But that clause has now elapsed and he will stay with Red Bull next year, the first season following a sweeping change of technical regulations. Verstappen is contracted to Red Bull until the end of 2028 and a similar scrutiny of his contract is expected next year once it becomes clear which teams have adapted and progressed best under the new regulations. Verstappen has fallen 81 points behind series leader Oscar Piastri of McLaren into third place in the drivers' championship this year. Red Bull are in a state of flux, after sacking their team principal Christian Horner this month and replacing the Briton with Laurent Mekies, the boss of their 'B' team Racing Bulls. (AFP)

Alexandra Saint Mleux may not be getting behind the wheel on race weekends, but she's certainly one of the most recognisable faces in the Formula One paddock. The 23-year-old girlfriend of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has claimed her title as the sport's 'It girl' with her impeccable style and elegant demeanour. Photo: @alexandrasaintmleux/Instagram While she maintains a career in arts – she studied the subject and currently runs an art-focused Instagram page – Saint Mleux's eye for fashion is what's getting her plenty of attention. In just over a year, Saint Mleux's previously private Instagram account skyrocketed from under 1,000 followers to nearly 2.5 million, thanks largely to her incredibly chic appearances at numerous Formula One races and events. That fashionable profile has catapulted Saint Mleux into partnerships with a range of well-known brands – she's worked with Hailey Bieber's Rhode and in May, debuted her resortwear collection with Australian label Meshki during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend. On March 21, she stepped into the paddock wearing a black minidress by Hong Kong-based label Sau Lee that featured a Mandarin collar and red knotted accents in a nod to the traditional cheongsam. She added a modern twist with red ballet flats and dark sunglasses, perfectly matching the outfit's colour palette. For the finishing touch, Saint Mleux blended fashion, motorsport and romance by carrying a custom Ferrari Style Maranello clutch inspired by Leclerc's personal Daytona SP3. She ended the weekend with a soft pink co-ord that featured another cheongsam-style top, and Sau Lee's Vanessa midi dress in black, which she paired with a Saint Laurent Cinq-a-Sept mini bag and patent leather stiletto boots. Red Bull sack Horner after poor start to F1 season
Red Bull sack Horner after poor start to F1 season Christian Horner oversaw eight Drivers' World Championships and six Constructors' Championships during his spell at Red Bull. File photo: Reuters Red Bull have sacked team principal Christian Horner and appointed Laurent Mekies as the Briton's replacement, the Formula One team announced on Wednesday. The 51-year-old Horner was the longest-serving team principal, having been in the position since Red Bull made its Formula One debut in 2005. Frenchman Mekies joins from Red Bull's sister team Racing Bulls. Alan Permane, currently racing director, will be promoted to team principal at Racing Bulls. "Red Bull has released Christian Horner from his operational duties with effect from today and has appointed Laurent Mekies as CEO of Red Bull Racing," the Milton Keynes-based team said in a statement. Red Bull won eight Drivers' World Championships and six Constructors' Championships under Horner, but struggled this season with the team sitting fourth with 172 points in the constructors' standings. They trail leaders McLaren by 288 points. Red Bull's four-times Formula One champion Max Verstappen has won two of 12 races and is third in the drivers' championship. Horner's position was questioned, with Verstappen's father calling last year for him to go after allegations of misconduct were made by a female employee. The Briton denied them and was cleared after an investigation. "It has been an amazing adventure to contribute to the birth of Racing Bulls together with all our talented people," Mekies said. "The spirit of the whole team is incredible, and I strongly believe that this is just the beginning. "Alan is the perfect man to take over now and continue our path. He knows the team inside out and has always been an important pillar of our early successes." (Reuters)
