Selected guests and media professionals were invited to join the celebration, which included a tour of the breathtaking property as well as a ceremony in honour of the 45-person crew.
'Our gardening team's efforts go far beyond maintaining the landscape – they shape the very soul of our resort,' The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain general manager Bernard de Villèle explained.
'Their passion and dedication are the heart of the beauty our guests experience every day.
'I extend my deepest gratitude to these remarkable individuals, whose committed passion and meticulous care shape an unforgettable experience for every guest who visits.'
Spanning 70 acres with 25 acres of carefully curated green space, RCB is known for its manicured lawns, vibrant flora and sweeping views of the Arabian Gulf.
The resort's gardens are home to 137 kinds of plants, including 950 date palms, 37 tree species, 28 varieties of shrubs, and 15 types each of ground cover and seasonal flowers.
And behind every bloom lies the handiwork of the resort's skilled gardeners – a team whose quiet commitment has been bringing life to the lush surroundings.
According to RCB engineering director Abhilash Coonjan, the gardens are central to the resort's identity.
'The gardens at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain are a living reflection of our brand's identity – one that blends timeless elegance, local authenticity and pure immersive luxury,' he told the GulfWeekly.
'Architecturally, our resort is designed in harmony with its coastal surroundings, embracing the charm of Arabian hospitality while offering a modern resort-style escape.
'At the heart of our landscape are 950 date palms, each locally sourced from Bahraini farms, anchoring our deep-rooted connection to the kingdom's heritage.'
More than a visual delight, the gardens create a sense of serenity that enhances the guest experience.
However, maintaining such greenery in Bahrain's challenging climate is no easy task.
'The extreme heat, high humidity in the summer, saline-rich soil, and limited rainfall present significant challenges,' Abhilash explained.
'It's both an art and a science that requires innovation and constant care.'
The team also plays a vital role in the resort's sustainability efforts, growing herbs like oregano, mint, and rosemary, and managing an efficient irrigation system powered by an on-site water purification plant, which generates approximately 2,500 cubic metres of water per day, with 1,000 cubic metres used daily for irrigation.
As a result of the team's efforts, the property proudly holds a Green Key certification for its environmental practices. 'The gardens play a quiet yet powerful role in shaping the guest experience,' Abhilash added.
'What truly stands out isn't just one moment, but the consistency, passion, and care that bring beauty to life for our guests every day.'
The idea for the ceremony came from a desire to recognise this often unseen labour.
'The event was inspired to show appreciation and gratitude to the gardening team,' he explained.
'Their efforts often go unseen by guests, but they are key to creating the beautiful and peaceful environment that makes our resort special.'
Looking ahead, Abhilash said the resort remains committed to evolving its green spaces to 'improve the environment, introducing new species and enhancing the beauty of the property.'
At the heart of it all is a group of gardeners – quietly working, transforming, and now, finally, seen.

Hasan Al Sadadi Gears Up for Dakar Rally 2026, Calls for National Support
He added: 'I hope that Bahraini companies, institutions, and relevant officials will provide the necessary support to raise Bahrain's flag in such a massive competition, which should be viewed as a national responsibility – not just an individual effort – so we can assert our presence in one of the toughest desert rallies in the world." Al Sadadi extended his deep gratitude and appreciation to the companies and entities that supported him during the Dakar Rally 2025. 'I extend my sincere thanks to Bahrain International Circuit for being the official sponsor and for playing a major role in providing the necessary support. Bahrain Targets Women's Leadership : SCW unveils 2025–2026 national roadmap
TDT | Manama Bahraini women are set to enter a new chapter of national development, focusing on assuming top leadership roles under a newly approved national plan by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) for 2025 and 2026. New roadmap Titled 'Bahraini Women: Empowerment, Progress and Striving for Leadership', the plan was endorsed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW. It identifies four priority areas: family stability, decision-making, economic participation, and quality of life. Each area includes initiatives grouped under five axes: policy, budgeting, awareness and training, auditing, and evaluation. The two-year strategy builds on nearly two decades of institutional efforts to support women and aims to shift the focus from empowerment to leadership in both public and private spheres. From progress to power Unlike previous national strategies that concentrated on inclusion, the new plan signals a transition towards top-level leadership. It promotes women's access to senior roles across sectors, especially in fields such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and digital transformation. According to the SCW, Bahraini women now constitute 60 percent of the government workforce, with half of them in executive roles. In the private sector, women make up 36 percent of the total workforce and hold 36 percent of executive positions. The number of virtual commercial records owned by women reached 1,220 by 2024, representing 54 percent. Institutional partnership The plan introduces an implementation framework that engages government, private, and civil society sectors. This cooperative structure ensures shared national responsibility for advancing women, with clear roles and coordinated action. Among its goals are increased female participation on corporate boards, greater involvement in civil society leadership, and supportive family policies that allow women to balance personal and professional commitments. Forward strategy To improve quality of life, the plan outlines initiatives related to health, safety, and environmental awareness. It also includes programs to expand women's sports and improve support services in workplaces. By aligning with Bahrain's Vision 2030 and upcoming Vision 2050, the SCW aims to position Bahraini women as key contributors to sustainable development and economic growth.

Bahraini Travel Blogger Climbs One of the World's Most Active Volcanoes in Ethiopia
Would you dare to climb into a live volcano? Bahraini travel blogger Eman Sharif did just that—and she says it changed her forever. Known as "The Smoking Mountain," Ethiopia's Erta Ale volcano is one of the most active and dangerous volcanoes on the planet. But for Eman Sharif, danger was not a deterrent—it was part of the allure. In an Eman recalled her extraordinary journey. 'I asked the local guides if I could go right to the crater itself—and I sat beside the lava,' she said. 'It was a bold move, but I don't regret it at all.' Describing the experience in real-time during her trip, she shared how she reached the closest point to the bubbling lava. 'We are now at the edge… I'm sitting right next to the lava,' she said in a video clip, visibly in awe. 'Erta Ale is one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world. But when I see something that combines risk, challenge, and adventure—I have to go for it.' The volcano last erupted in 2017, but during her visit, Eman witnessed renewed activity. 'It started boiling in a strange way,' she said. 'The local guides started running and yelling 'Explosion! Explosion!' It was a moment of mixed feelings—part fear, part excitement.' Despite the chaos, Eman stayed focused on her goal: to witness the natural phenomenon as closely as possible. She and her team climbed into the crater itself to get a better view of the explosions and molten lava. 'It was scary, yes—but also incredibly beautiful,' she said. 'To see the lava erupting from the earth, to feel the heat and hear the rumble... it was a surreal, unforgettable experience.' Eman's daring adventure quickly went viral, sparking reactions from followers amazed by how close she got to danger. 'People kept asking—wasn't it risky? How could you go that far in?' she said. 'But in the moment, I wasn't thinking of anything else. I just wanted to live that once-in-a-lifetime experience to the fullest.'
