UAE airports: Emergency response plan activated by ICP
Steps have been taken to ensure the safety and smooth movement of passengers at UAE airports without compromising service quality.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security immediately approved its emergency business continuity plan as the regional situation unfolded.
The plans provide greater operational flexibility as several routes from Dubai International Airport, Dubai World Central, Zayed International Airport and Sharjah International Airport face disruption.
Potential disruptions to travel, following airspace closures by some nations, have been minimised by the authority's emergency response plan.

A streamlined system for passenger entry into UAE airports has been put in place and direct guidance is being provided to passengers by support teams.
The ICP has coordinated with airlines in the UAE to facilitate flight rescheduling for those affected by travel disruption.
Stranded passengers have been assisted with temporary accommodation, logistical services and accurate information.
The plan includes close coordination with all operational entities to address the fallout from recent regional developments that led to the airspace closures.
Passengers have been commended for their cooperation and understanding during the 'exceptional regional circumstances.'
The authority also reiterated its commitment to undertaking all necessary measures to guarantee the security and safety of all travellers.
UAE visa overstay fines waived for Iranians
The UAE has also announced that Iranian citizens currently in the UAE are exempt from paying overstay fines, regardless of their visa type.
This applies to both residents and visitors and aims to 'alleviate the burden on individuals who have been unable to return to Iran due to airspace closures and flight suspensions.'

UAE to allow flying taxis to take-off and land at existing helipads, Civil Aviation Authority says
The General Civil Aviation Authority has announced plans to allow flying taxis in the UAE to take off and land at existing helipads. The world-first regulatory framework will also allow helicopters to operate from specially-made flying taxi vertiports. Dubai looks set to introduce aerial taxis in 2026, with initial plans allowing take-offs and landings at four points across the emirate. Vertiports, allowing vertical take-offs and landings, are being constructed at Dubai International Airport, Palm Jumeirah, Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina. It's unclear at this time whether the GCAA's announcement will mean a faster rollout of flying taxis to the rest of the emirate. The regulatory framework has been introduced to allow a cost-effective model for the development of infrastructure and accelerates the operational readiness of flying cabs in the UAE. It will allow conventional helicopter pads and electric vertical takeoff and landing pads to be used by both helicopters and eVTOLs (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing aircraft). Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GCAA says the move will allow growth of the aviation industry as a whole. He said: 'The UAE has always been at the forefront of excellence in aviation. This pioneering regulatory framework does not merely enable new technology; it redefines how aviation evolves. 'It reflects our commitment to innovation in developing a supportive ecosystem for the growth of this vital sector and a future where advanced air mobility is seamlessly integrated into our national infrastructure.' Emirates launches new daily flight to Shenzen
Emirates has officially launched its new daily service to Shenzhen in China. Taking off on Wednesday July 1, the first flight from Dubai International Airport to Bao'an International Airport marked the first daily service between the two cities. Emirates now offers 42 weekly flights to four key cities in the Chinese mainland – Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. The return flight will take off from Shenzen at 11.55pm, landing in Dubai at 3.40am the following day. Using one of the retrofitted Boeing 777s, the route will offer eight private suites in first class, 40 business class seats and 24 in premium economy. The first Chinese city to be served with the retrofitted interior, there will also be 260 economy class seats on board.
