As summer approaches and the travel season begins, Gulf Bank has shared a set of essential tips to help customers use their banking cards securely while taking full advantage of the bank's services. Key recommendations include: If your card is lost or stolen, immediately block it through the mobile app or by contacting customer service. When using ATMs, cover the keypad with your hand while entering your PIN and avoid accepting assistance from strangers if you experience any issues. Ensure your credit limits are sufficient and regularly monitor your account balance. Never share your PIN or One-Time Password (OTP) with anyone. Always verify the details in the OTP message, including the merchant's name and the payment amount, before authorizing a transaction. Confirm the payment amount before entering your PIN during any transaction. Keep track of your spending and card usage during travel by using the Gulf Bank's mobile application. Contact the customer service center immediately if you encounter any card-related issues. It is always recommended to pay in the local currency of the country you are visiting. Upon returning from travel, change your PIN and carefully review all your card statements. Report any discrepancies to the bank immediately. Since 2021, the Central Bank of Kuwait, in partnership with the Kuwait Banking Association, has launched the 'Diraya' public awareness campaign. This initiative seeks to educate bank customers about essential banking services, improve their ability to conduct secure transactions, and promote financial inclusion and economic stability. The campaign also focuses on informing customers about their rights and responsibilities, promoting the advantages of electronic financial transactions, and offering guidance to help avoid risks and ensure cybersecurity.
