
Dubai Municipality Unveils Future-Ready Urban Livability Report at WGS 2025
The report introduces innovative benchmarks for sustainable and resilient cities, addressing evolving global challenges.
The dedicated session saw global urban experts and policymakers discuss strategies to enhance city livability, aligning with the C3P3 framework—Connected, Collaborative, Circular, Protected, Proactive, and Present. This comprehensive model offers a roadmap for improving quality of life, driving sustainable development, and fostering inclusive urban environments.
A key highlight of the report is Dubai Urban Plan 2040, which envisions 80% of residents living within a 20-minute reach of essential services. It also prioritizes environmental sustainability, aiming for zero landfill waste and protecting 60% of the emirate's land for nature conservation. Additionally, it ensures 11 square meters of public green space per capita, reinforcing Dubai's commitment to well-being and sustainability.
Marwan Bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality, emphasized the city's commitment to pioneering future-ready urban planning. 'The C3P3 framework provides city leaders with comprehensive insights to rethink urban livability in an evolving world. As the Smart City Partner of the World Governments Summit, Dubai remains dedicated to advanced infrastructure, sustainability, and quality of life.'
Sanaa Al Alili, Director of Urban Planning, highlighted the report's focus on resilience and sustainability. 'It calls for integrated disaster preparedness, food security, and climate adaptation initiatives to ensure sustainable urban expansion and build inclusive, liveable communities.'

Dubai Completes AED 4.5 billion Worth of Real Estate Projects in H1 2025
Dubai's property sector maintained strong performance in the first half of 2025, with 24 real estate projects worth AED 4.5 billion completed, according to the Dubai Land Department (DLD). Mohammed bin Rashid Boards Etihad Rail for Dubai–Fujairah Journey Ahead of 2026 Passenger Launch
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, boarded the Etihad Rail passenger train for a journey between Dubai and Fujairah, marking a historic milestone in the lead-up to the network's commercial passenger launch in 2026. This significant journey reflects Sheikh Mohammed's commitment to overseeing strategic national infrastructure projects. He described Etihad Rail as a vital economic artery that supports the UAE's future, contributing to sustainability, connectivity, and improved quality of life. He also praised the project's role in enhancing the country's position as a leading logistics hub while fostering social and economic cohesion across the emirates. The trip underscores the transformative impact of Etihad Rail's passenger network, which will eventually connect 11 cities and regions across the UAE, from Al Sila to Fujairah. Trains will run at speeds up to 200 km/h, with key stations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah. Each train will accommodate up to 400 passengers, with projected ridership reaching 36.5 million annually by 2030. During the journey, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by Etihad Rail officials on the progress of the national project, which aligns with the UAE's broader goals of sustainable mobility and net-zero emissions by 2050. The visit was also attended by H.H.
