There's good news: About two-thirds of the country will have clear weather perfect for viewing fireworks shows on the Fourth, AccuWeather forecasters said. The weather will be clear and dry in the Great Lakes region and Northeast and most of the West on the Fourth of July, AccuWeather reported. Trump has big plans for America's 250th
The Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence 249 years ago, on July 4, 1776. President Donald Trump said Americans can expect much pomp and circumstance around the semiquincentennial starting this Fourth of July through 2026, with Trump predicting that the celebration under his watch will reach "extraordinary" levels. Fireworks may be enjoyable for humans, but they can be a great source of anxiety for our pets. The loud bangs, flashing colors and smell can cause them a lot of distress, resulting in behaviors like hiding, shaking and barking. One tip: Give your dog some extra exercise before all the mayhem starts. This could be an extra long walk or a few more rounds of fetch. "We do have heat advisories that are going to be in effect on Fourth of July, those will start noon Friday and go to 8 p.m. Just reminding us we're going to do whatever you can to stay cool. It's going to feel like it's 100 degrees," said WCCO Meteorologist Adam Del Rosso. With the heat index approaching triple digits, it has St. Croix Beach Club Owner Ronald Jones bracing for crowds. This is Jones' second year running the beach club and they're expecting the turnout to be much different than last year. "Last year at this time, the river was fully flooded, in fact, the Fourth of July fireworks had to be canceled," said Jones. "We're just grateful it's sunny, it's perfect conditions to get out and enjoy it and just be cautious and stay as hydrated as you can." Jones is also concerned with the condition of the water this year: problems with algae, bacteria and E. coli. St. Croix officials have not issued any official beach closures, but testing is underway. Recent storms, run-off and warm water have raised concerns about the condition of the water. Jones hopes it will be a great weekend for beach goers and tourists alike, but to also stay prepared. "It's going to be a great weekend, no matter what you got going on, just get out, be with people, celebrate – stay cool," said Jones. Weather looks great across Maryland for the 4th of July Weekend
After several unsettled days, the weather is shaping up beautifully just in time for Independence Day celebrations across the region. Clear skies and comfortable humidity will usher in the holiday weekend Thursday night, with overnight temperatures dipping into the 60s to near 70 degrees. Friday, the Fourth of July, is expected to bring mostly sunny skies, low humidity, and highs in the mid to upper 80s—ideal weather for outdoor barbecues, parades, and other holiday activities. By sunset, those planning to attend fireworks displays can expect temperatures around 80 degrees with clear skies and dry air—"weather doesn't get much better," forecasters said. The pleasant trend will continue into the weekend. Saturday and Sunday will see slightly more cloud cover, and humidity levels will begin to rise late Saturday into Sunday. Still, both days will remain dry with highs near 90 degrees, providing extended opportunities for outdoor plans without interruption. Looking ahead to next week, the pattern shifts. Heat and humidity will build once again, with highs hovering around 90 degrees starting Monday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon and are expected to become more widespread through Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Overnight lows next week will remain in the 70s, and the atmosphere will stay unsettled with multiple rounds of potential storms. With the Fourth of July weekend, local beach lovers are ready to hit the shores. Authorities, however, are warning visitors to avoid any beach activities that involve getting wet at eight beaches. The warnings have been issued ahead of the holiday weekend due to excessive bacterial levels, county officials said. The Los Angeles County Public Health Department released a statement on Wednesday warning residents to avoid surfing, swimming and any other ocean-water activity after tests indicated that street runoff had increased bacterial levels at certain beaches. 'Swimming in water with bacteria can make you sick or cause skin infections,' the department said in astatement. 'Children, the elderly, and those who have weak immune systems are at higher risk of getting sick or infected.' The department could not estimate when the warnings would be lifted, but state law requires weekly tests be conducted on the waters. The following beaches were affected: · Avalon Beach at Catalina Island: the swimming area 50 feet west of Green Pleasure Pier and the Step Beach swim area east of the Casino arch. · Santa Monica Beach: Santa Monica North Lifeguard Tower 12 and 100 yards up and down the coast from the Wilshire Boulevard storm drain. · Ramirez Creek at Paradise Cove in Malibu: 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier. · Will Rogers State Beach: 100 yards up and down coast from the Bel Air Bay Club border fence. · Mothers Beach in Marina Del Rey: the entire swim area. · Topanga Beach: 100 yards up and down the coast from the Castlerock storm drain. · Santa Monica Beach: 100 yards up and down the coast from the Santa Monica Pier. · Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro: the entire swim area.
