Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards those attempting to defile food items or engaging in similar disrespectful acts, stressing that such persons must face the strictest punishment to ensure the sacred nature of Kanwar Yatra is not compromised.
The administration said comprehensive arrangements for tents, food, and other essential facilities along the route, such as electricity and lighting arrangements, as well as cleanliness along the Kanwar path, will be of the highest standard. 'We have created WhatsApp groups for all 12 districts of the Kanwar route, including for senior officials and other personnel to share information,' said a local police official.
Last year, the State made headlines when the government made it mandatory for food and beverage shops along Kanwar routes to display the name and identity of the operator/owner. Kanwar Yatra, the annual pilgrimage journey of Lord Shiva's devotees, is slated between July 11 and July 23.

Multiple recces before shot fired at Fazilpuria, say police; Sonipat man (25) arrested, Himanshu Bhau gang claims responsibility
Gurgaon: Two days after a bullet was allegedly fired at the car of singer and rapper Rahul Yadav (Fazilpuria) in Sector 71 on Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), a suspect identified as Vishal (25) was arrested from Jajal in Sonipat. The accused, according to police, staked out Fazilpuria for multiple days, conducting recces of his house, studio and other routine locations. Fazilpuria came under attack on Monday evening. The bullet missed his car. No one was injured. "Vishal stayed in multiple rest houses in Gurgaon. On the day of the incident, he shared the location of the singer, following which his other associates fired at Fazilpuria from a Tata Punch car. Vishal accompanied another suspect while renting the Punch car," police spokesperson Sandeep said. You Can Also Check: Gurgaon AQI | Weather in Gurgaon | Bank Holidays in Gurgaon | Public Holidays in Gurgaon Police, however, are yet to ascertain how many people were there in the car while shooting at the singer. An associate of gangster Himanshu Bhau, meanwhile, claimed responsibility for the shooting. Police said they were verifying the authenticity of the claim. A message was circulated on Wednesday in which Sunil Sardhania, an alleged member of the Himanshu Bhau gang, took responsibility for the shooting. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like [국가인증] 키성장 인증받은 '이 제품' 2개월치 무료증정 이벤트 곧 마감! 아이클타임 더 알아보기 Undo The message said the firing was intended to warn the singer to repay Rs 5 crore to one Deepak Nandal within a month to avoid severe consequences. The post also mentioned Inderjit Yadav, a close associate of fugitive gangster Bhau. Bhau and Yadav are believed to be managing the gang from abroad. Himanshu Bhau fled to Portugal in 2022 using a fake passport and faces around 35 criminal charges. He is known for firing over 30 rounds at his targets. Police have not yet acknowledged the post and are assessing its authenticity, saying it was not shared through any social media account but via messages in WhatsApp groups under surveillance. "Gangsters post warnings or claim responsibility through social media accounts as the Himanshu Bhau gang did in the past. The gang is known to fire over 30 bullets in their shootouts. The viral message is under scanner," a police officer said. In the message, Sardhania indicated the firing was merely a warning, adding, "If we wanted to kill him, we would have killed him outside his office. We want our money back which was invested by Deepak Nandal through his associates and resources to make Fazilpuria a celebrity. Deepak invested Rs 5 crore for the same purpose. Earlier, he promised to pay back money by selling his land in case things wouldn't work for him." Sardhania also said Nandal wasted 10 years and Rs 5 crore on the singer, claiming that Fazilpuria ignored their calls for two years and flaunted his political influence after gaining popularity. Sources said Fazilpuria's police security was withdrawn after he contested in the Lok Sabha elections from Gurgaon but was reinstated following the shooting incident. The Punch used in the attack is registered to Sushil Kumar, a Sonipat resident and car rental business owner. He rented it to 19-year-old Gautam from Dipalpur village in Sonipat, on July 11 for Rs 2,200 per day.

L-G orders probe into ‘₹145-cr. coaching scam' during AAP rule
Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood on Wednesday said Lieutenant-Governor (L-G) V.K. Saxena has directed the Anti-Corruption Branch to investigate an alleged ₹145-crore scam by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) under the Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana, a scheme meant to provide free coaching to marginalised students. Addressing a joint press conference with Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh, Mr. Sood said that the AAP government indulged in corruption during the COVID-19 period, using a scheme meant for students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) as a cover for massive financial irregularities. Mr. Sood said the scheme had originally promised free coaching for SC/ST students for exams such as UPSC, NEET, and JEE. 'But unfortunately, AAP leaders indulged in corruption... This is not only an insult to Babasaheb's vision but also a betrayal of thousands of students who relied on this scheme to shape their future,' he said, vowing that the culprits will not be spared. Citing data, the Minister said that while 4,900 students were enrolled in 2018 and 2,071 in 2019, the number of students claimed to have been coached between July 2021 and August 2022 shot up dramatically. Despite the scheme's original budget of ₹15 crore, coaching institutes submitted claims worth ₹145 crore. 'Fake bills' Mr. Sood alleged that although data was submitted for nearly 13,000 students, only 3,000 could be verified, with no supporting documents found for the rest. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta echoed the allegations in a post on X, claiming that 'serious financial misconduct' had occurred in 2020-21. 'The budget of this scheme was only ₹15 crore, but the AAP government forwarded files with fake bills exceeding ₹142 crore,' she wrote. She also alleged that claims were submitted without supporting documents, applications lacked signatures, and some institutions raised 100% claims in the names of Dalit students who never actually received coaching. 'AAP has insulted the ideals of Babasaheb and tainted the sacred field of education,' Ms. Gupta said, asserting that the Anti-Corruption Branch would investigate the case thoroughly and bring the guilty to justice. The L-G's office is yet to issue an official statement. The schemewas launched in 2018 to support students from SC, ST, and OBC communities with an annual family income of less than ₹8 lakh. It aimed to provide free coaching for competitive exams like engineering, medicine, and civil services, with the Delhi government covering the fees. AAP response In a sharp rebuttal, AAP issued a statement and urged the BJP to 'move beyond rhetoric' and vendetta campaigns and focus on governance. 'They have shut down a functioning model. The electricity, the health services, the education reforms –all halted. Instead of working, BJP leaders spend their days abusing AAP and Arvind Kejriwal. They have no vision, no plan,' it said. AAP challenged the BJP to inspect all aspects of its infrastructure. 'Check every brick in Delhi's schools, every needle in our Mohalla Clinics. Check the buses, the hospitals – check it all. But after you're done with your witch-hunt, start doing some real work,' the party said.
