Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei crash out of Japan Open after straight-sets loss to China's world No. 2 pair
According to The Star, Chen and Toh, ranked world No. 4, were defeated 12-21, 16-21 in just 38 minutes during their clash at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium earlier today.
The result marked their third loss to the Chinese pair in four encounters.
Jiang and Wei, the defending champions, will go on to face Thailand's Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran in the final tomorrow.
The Thai pair advanced after pulling off an upset against world No. 1s Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping of China, winning their semi-final match 21-13, 21-17.

Yu, who was competing in the women's 200m butterfly final on Thursday – finishing fourth – received a medal as a member of the Chinese relay team. 'It feels quite emotional, it's a nice feeling,' she said. Yu has turned heads with her performances in Singapore. She qualified for Monday's 200m individual medley final and finished fourth, missing out on a medal by just 0.06sec in what is not considered her strongest event. Playing at the Macau East Asian Games Dome, Tang Jie-Ee Wei started brightly against Denmark's Alexandra Boje and Mathias Christiansen, who recently returned to competition after serving a one-year suspension for failing to comply with anti-doping whereabouts requirements. But the Malaysians were unable to maintain their momentum as the match slipped into a decider. After a 54-minute battle, they went down 21-15, 17-21, 11-21. The Danes will face another Malaysian pair Jimmy Wong-Lai Pei Jing in the title match. Earlier, Jimmy-Pei Jing secured their place in the final after overcoming Indonesia's sixth seeds Amri Syahnawi-Nita Marwah 21-18, 21-16. It will be Jimmy and Pei Jing's fourth final of the year, but reaching the final in Macau is considered their biggest feat yet, with the tournament carrying Super 300 status.
