In 2002, Bollywood had many films ready for release. There was a mix of action and romance, providing plenty of entertainment in theaters like Devdas, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, Aankhen, Mujhse Dosti Karoge!, Company, and Deewangee. However, one film that year not only entertained viewers but also touched their souls and even made them scream, which came out 23 years ago and turned out to be the biggest example. The Innovation In Horror Genre: Raaz
Here we are talking about the horror thriller, 'Raaz,' directed by Vikram Bhatt. Raaz ran for 2 hours and 32 minutes and featured actors like Bipasha Basu, Dino Morea, Malini Sharma, Ashutosh Rana, and Vishwajeet Pradhan in leading roles. The plot follows Sanjana (Bipasha) and Aditya (Dino) as they vacation in Ooty to mend their marriage, where Sanjana discovers Aditya's past. The film's frightening scenes were enough to scare anyone watching. Raaz's Filming Locations And Chilling Events
Interestingly, the film frightened not just the audience but also the cast in real life. During filming, unsettling incidents occurred on set that terrified the actors. Raaz was shot at Fernhill Hotel, Pine Forest, and Lawrence School in Ooty. Bipasha Basu once shared in an interview about the eerie events that took place while filming Raaz.
According to Hindustan Times, Bipasha Basu had told that once the team heard the sound of furniture sliding, whereas there was no other floor above the hotel. The actress was terrified knowing this. According to Bipasha, 'Once Saroj ji and his troupe had checked in late at night. They were unable to sleep as they heard the sound of furniture being rearranged in the room upstairs. The dancers who were shooting early in the morning tried calling the reception, but the phone was switched off. Desperate to sleep, some went down to complain, but the receptionist hustled them out and pointed upstairs, telling them there was no floor above.'
Series Of Bone-Chilling Events
Bipasha Basu also said in the same interview that once Dr. Ambedkar's photo slipped. This moment was captured on camera. Not only this, one night, when the shooting was going on in an office in Vashi, she and her assistant heard a girl's voice in the song. More About Raaz
In 2002, it was the second-highest-grossing film, marking the most successful project and the first part of the Raaz series. Both lead actors received a Zee Cine Award for Dynamic Duo. The film was nominated for Best Film at the 48th Filmfare Awards. Nadeem-Shravan's music also garnered multiple nominations for Filmfare Awards.

After weeks of uncertainty, fans of the iconic Hera Pheri franchise can breathe easy, Paresh Rawal is officially back for the third installment. His earlier exit in May had stirred controversy, with reports citing monetary issues and creative clashes. Things reached a boiling point when Akshay Kumar , lead actor and co-producer of Hera Pheri 3, reportedly considered suing Rawal for Rs 25 crore for allegedly sabotaging the project. Now that the trio is reunited, director Priyadarshan has broken his silence on the matter. Speaking to Hindustan Times, he said, 'I am living in south India. Whenever a film is signed, I will go to shoot it. I am only committed to Akshay Kumar to do this film (as a maker), I don't know anybody else.' 'Difference of opinion has been sorted' Priyadarshan revealed that he chose to stay away from the public fallout. 'You won't see a single comment of mine on the whole issue till today. I don't believe in the politics of cinema. Suniel, Akshay and Paresh are my best friends. There was difference of opinion between them, that has been sorted. This is all I know. I don't think anybody else is involved in it.' While the director refrained from naming names, his statement seemed to indirectly address recent claims by producer Firoz Nadiadwala, who had credited his brother Sajid Nadiadwala for brokering peace between the actors. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Joacă în sfârșit cel mai bun joc de strategie 2025 gratuit!
