Saudi Poet Sentenced To Life In Kuwait For Citizenship Fraud And Embezzlement
Presiding judge Abdulwahab Al Muaili also imposed a fine of KD1.79 million (approximately USD 5.8 million) on the defendant and ordered full restitution of the illicit funds. The court concluded that the poet had systematically manipulated official records for decades to illegally obtain Kuwaiti nationality and its accompanying privileges.
According to court documents, the defendant acquired Kuwaiti citizenship in 1995 by fraudulently adding himself to the civil file of a deceased citizen.
He allegedly renounced his Saudi nationality, assumed a false identity, and secured a forged birth certificate dated 1972 despite having been born in 1961.
The fallout from the case extended beyond the individual: the court also ruled to revoke the Kuwaiti nationality of the poet's 27 children, both sons and daughters, since their citizenship was derived from the fraudulent application.
Prosecutors revealed that the defendant left Kuwait in 2016, but it wasn't until June 2024 that his Kuwaiti nationality was formally revoked following a lengthy investigation by national authorities

Ghanaian officials have said the Chinese regime isn't doing enough to prevent its nationals from committing crimes in one of West Africa's strongest economies. But China's ambassador in Ghana is accusing locals of 'galamsey,' as it's known in the region, or small-scale illegal gold mining, and of drawing Chinese workers to Africa. 'The Chinese who are getting arrested are migrant workers who have come here to make a living,' Chinese Ambassador Tong Defa told The Epoch Times. Grace Ansah-Akrofi, director of the Ghana Police Service's Public Affairs, has a different view. 'While there are cases like those mentioned by the ambassador, it's a bit far-fetched to say that it's Ghanaian masterminds who are importing Chinese to commit crimes,' she told The Epoch Times. Saudi Student Fatally Stabbed in Cambridge Park; Police Investigate
A young Saudi student lost his life after being stabbed in a park south of Cambridge on Friday night, police confirmed. The victim, Mohammed Yousef Al Qassim, was walking back to his residence around 11:30 p.m. when he was attacked. He sustained a fatal neck injury and died at the scene. Al Qassim was studying at a local language institute. EF International Language School in Cambridge, where he was enrolled, expressed its condolences over the tragedy. 'We are deeply saddened to confirm that one of our students sustained fatal injuries on Friday evening,' the school said, adding that it is working closely with police and offering support to students and staff.
