Burnley on verge of completing permanent deal for Chelsea forward Armando Broja
Burnley are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja. Advanced talks have taken place between the clubs and a permanent switch for the 23-year-old is expected to be finalised in the coming days. A striker has been on Burnley's wishlist all summer as the club seek to improve the goalscoring options available to head coach Scott Parker ahead of their return to the Premier League. Advertisement Everton confirmed in May that Broja was set to depart the club following the end of his year-long loan spell last season, alongside Jack Harrison, Jesper Lindstrom and Orel Mangala. Broja made just 13 appearances for the Merseyside club after an Achilles injury at the start of the season kept him out for over three months, while an ankle issue he suffered in January sidelined him further. In April, he said 'there's way more to come from me' and expressed his happiness at being able to 'come back on the pitch and play pain-free'. Injuries have been a recurring theme for the Albania international since tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in December 2022. He has made 58 appearances in the past three seasons, which included a loan spell at Fulham in the 2023-24 campaign. A Chelsea academy product, Broja netted 16 goals in 35 matches for the under-18 side before a successful loan spell at Eredivisie side Vitesse, where he scored 11 times in 34 appearances. A subsequent loan spell at Southampton, during which he registered nine goals and two assists in 38 games, saw him earn 18 first-team appearances at Chelsea before he was hit by the ACL injury. Broja has earned 25 caps for Albania since making his senior debut in September 2020. He played twice at the 2024 European Championship as his side finished bottom of Group B.

Not only that but he wants to join Liverpool. This is why Isak did not travel to Asia for Newcastle's pre-season tour and had instead trained in Spain, away from the club's facilities. It's very clear that the Swede wants to join Liverpool and the Reds would like to sign him. This has been reiterated by a Swedish football expert, who exclusively told Anfield Watch he believes Isak will end up at Anfield. 🔴 Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas away range from 9am TODAY Speaking exclusively on Anfield Watch's YouTube channel, Journalist and Swedish football expert Maxi Angelo explained that he believes the Reds are closing in on securing a transfer for Isak, and that he is confident that the Swede will end-up signing for the club: "I do believe so [that Isak will end-up at Liverpool]," Angelo said. "I think from what I've been able to read and hear it, it feels like Alexander Isak as far as the relationship between Isak and Newcastle, it's at least reaching a point of no return. I think it says quite a lot that he's not even training at the Newcastle facilities. "I don't see why he wouldn't do that unless something's off. Even though he's not in Asia for the pre-season tour, he could still train at the Newcastle facilities to rehabilitate from an injury. But he's not and I think that's quite telling. "As far as a percentage goes, I would say maybe 60% or 70% [how likely it is at this stage]. That's just my gut feeling. I think it's getting more and more advanced each day."
