OHL standout Anthony Romani is headed to Michigan State for his college career
Michigan State hockey is looking to retool and reload its roster ahead of the 2025-26 season, the fourth in Adam Nightingale's career in East Lansing. On Sunday, they got a major boost to the roster that is forming. Michigan State has earned the commitment of Anthony Romani, a standout in the Ontario Hockey League.
Romani will come to MSU via the Barrie Colts, where he finished his OHL career, but is most known for his 2023-24 campaign with the North Bay Battalion, where he tallied 111 points in just 68 games.
A right handed shot forward, Romani is a native of Pickering, Ontario, Canada. He is 6-foot-1, 190 pounds and is 19 years old as a 2005 born player.
The Vancouver Canucks drafted the future Spartan in the sixth round of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. He will have all four years of eligibility remaining.

Spartans slated for local bowl game in latest projections from College Football News

Will Michigan State football reach bowl eligibility for the first time in three seasons? The latest projections from College Football News believes so. College Football News released updated preseason bowl projections earlier this week, with the Spartans making the cut. Michigan State is slated to play in the GameAbove Sports Bowl against Toledo in College Football News' latest projections. This bowl game will be played at Ford Field in Detroit on December 26. Michigan State last played in a bowl game in 2021. The Spartans the only team in the Big Ten that hasn't gone to at least one bowl game in the last three seasons. Michigan State is projected to finish right around the bowl eligibility cut line, with a win over/under total of 5.5 for many betting services. This would suggest the experts are anticipating Michigan State will be right around last year's record of 5-7, but hopefully with at least one more win this year to go bowling. The Spartans open up the 2025 season on August 29 against Western Michigan. Kickoff from Spartan Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on FS1. Former Spartans star Jase Richardson signs multi-year shoe deal with massive brand

Former Michigan State star Jase Richardson is going to continue to ride with team Nike. Richardson wore Nike this past season with the Spartans -- who are sponsored by Nike -- and he will continue to roll with the well-known athletic wear brand at the next level too. ESPN's Nick DePaula reported on Friday that Richardson has signed a multi-year shoe deal with Nike. Richardson was selected by the Orlando Magic with the No. 25 overall pick in last month's NBA Draft. He starred for the Magic in a pair of NBA Summer League games following his selection and is expected to play a role on the Magic's roster next year as a rookie. As you know by now, Richardson was a superstar freshman for Michigan State this past season. He averaged 12.1 points per game and shot above 40% from three-point range. His strong play throughout the season turned Richardson into a clear-cut NBA Draft first round pick. Congrats to Richardson on his new shoe deal with Nike. I'm expecting even more endorsement deals to be coming his way if he continues to provide the stellar play on the court that we've grown accustom to in the last year. Watch MSU commit Carlos Medlock Jr. dunks on future Wolverine player

Michigan State Commit Carlos Medlock Jr. dunking on Michigans Trey Mckenney 👀 The newest Spartan has already been thrown into the middle of the Michigan-Michigan State basketball rivalry thanks to highlight video surfacing on social media. Michigan State basketball added a big-time commitment in four-star point guard Carlos Medlock Jr. on Friday night, with the Wayne, Mich. product picking the Spartans over the Wolverines. This alone was a nice rivalry win for Michigan State over in-state foe Michigan. However, that got a little bit sweeter on Saturday when "Spartans Hoops" social media X account posted a video of Medlock dunking on future Wolverine Trey McKenney in a high school game. Check out the clip of the impressive play from Medlock in the video below: Ultimately, this is just a fun play for fans to get excited about and doesn't mean much more than that in the grand scheme of things. But, regardless, it's another fun little addition to an already heated rivalry between the Spartans and Wolverines.
