Chelsea rebounded fantastically from their first defeat at the 2025 Club World Cup with a 3-0 victory over Tunisian side ES Tunis on Tuesday, securing their place in the knockout rounds.

The Blues weren't just beaten but slightly embarrassed by Brazilian side Flamengo on Friday, thus a strong response was required from Enzo Maresca's side — even after making a number of changes to the starting lineup. Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo, Pedro Neto, Levi Colwill, Marc Cucurella and Reece James were all unused substitutes in Chelsea's Group D finale and will be plenty rested for the round of 16 on Saturday (vs Benfica).
All three of Chelsea's goals were scored in stoppage time — two in the first half and one in the second — as Liam Delap scored his first goal (45'+5) since joining the club earlier this month and 19-year-old academy striker Tyrique George continued his rapid development with a goal of his own (90'+7), after Tosin Adarabioyo finally broke the deadlock (45'+3).

Tunisian champions eight of the last nine seasons, including the last two, Esperance picked up their first win of the Club World Cup on Friday as they beat MLS side LAFC 1-0 at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee. Algerian international Youcef Belaili scored the game's only goal in the 70th minute. The 33-year-old scored 20 goals in 37 games during the most recent season, his first at the club.
Chelsea vs ES Tunis prediction
Perhaps the collapse against Flamengo will be a wake-up call; perhaps an indicator of more struggles to come. Not yet, but soon (in the next round, when they face Bayern Munich). Chelsea 2-0 ES Tunis.

After João Félix's deal, Al Nassr bid for Man United's Antony

As per recent reports from Santi Aouna, Al Nassr has made a bid for Manchester United's Antony. By Ravi Kumar Jha Published on July 28, 2025, 09:21 IST As per recent reports from Santi Aouna, Al Nassr has made a bid for Manchester United's Antony. They have recently completed the deal to sign João Félix from Chelsea and now they are eyeing a move for the United's winger. The winger went to Real Betis on a 6-month loan and showed his immense potential there. Al Nassr, thus, made a bid for him. However, the amount of the bid is still not mentioned or cleared and the reports also not backed by some credible sources. Saudi Pro League heavyweight Al‑Nassr have officially submitted an offer for Manchester United winger Antony. While the transfer fee remains undisclosed, United are believed to be holding out for around €60 million to sanction the move. Al‑Nassr's interest comes hot on the heels of their recent signing of João Félix from Chelsea, reportedly sealing a two‑year contract with an initial €30 million fee plus add‑ons—and strong sell-on clauses. Now attention appears to have turned to reinforcing their attacking line further by targeting Antony. The 25‑year‑old Brazilian winger spent the back half of the 2024–25 season on loan at Real Betis, where he impressed enough to attract interest from both his former Spanish club and Saudi suitors. United still hold him under contract until 2027, but he has been transfer-listed and reportedly excluded from pre-season plans, signalling a clear intent to sell. His representation has indicated that Antony is open to a move to Saudi Arabia, stating 'he is on the market… open to moving to Saudi Arabia. Anything is possible. England's Lucy Bronze says she played in Euros with fractured leg: ‘It's painful but I'm going to party'

England defender Lucy Bronze says that she played the entirety of the Women's European Championship tournament with a fractured tibia in her left leg. The 33-year-old played in all six of England's successful Euro campaign, including playing 105 minutes in the final against Spain, which England won via a penalty kick shootout. However, the Chelsea defender, who was taken off at half-time of extra-time with a knee injury, revealed after the final whistle that she had entered the tournament with an injury. Speaking to BBC Sport after the win, she said: 'I've played the whole tournament with a fractured tibia, but nobody knee, and I've hurt my knee today on my other leg. 'Which is why the girls gave me a lot of love after the Sweden game because I've been in a lot of pain. If that is what it takes to play for England, that is what I'll do. It's very painful, but I'm going to party.' Advertisement Bronze had several key moments during the tournament, including a pivotal penalty during the shootout victory over Sweden on July 17. The defender celebrated with her teammates with a visible bandage on her right knee and was seen struggling to walk during post-match jubilation. The Euros victory was Bronze's 26th career trophy. 'We never lost belief in ourselves,' she added. 'There was a lot of noise on the outside, but we stuck together. To go to extra time back to back to back is incredible. We give each other energy and what we've done today is incredible. 'I don't think we were thinking too much about the World Cup (final defeat). It always goes that they win, then we win, then they win, so it was our turn today. 'To win on penalties is an amazing feeling but to lose on penalties is the worst feeling. They (Spain) are great players and they've achieved a lot. It wasn't meant for them today, it was meant for England.'

Paulo Costa rips Reinier de Ridder's 'bad fight' at UFC on ABC 9, gets response

Paulo Costa didn't think much of Reinier de Ridder's performance against Robert Whittaker at UFC on ABC 9. De Ridder (21-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC) kept his undefeated octagon run alive on Saturday when he edged Whittaker (26-9 MMA, 17-7 UFC) by split decision in Abu Dhabi. It was a closely contested bout and resulted in the biggest victory that former two-division ONE Championship titleholder has ever had, but Costa wasn't impressed. The one-time UFC title challenger Costa (15-4 MMA, 7-4 UFC), who is coming off a unanimous decision win over Roman Kopylov at UFC 318 this month, had only negative reviews about de Ridder on social media (via X): When asked about Costa's messages at the UFC on ABC 9 post-event news conference, de Ridder brushed off the criticism and pondered aloud what the outcome was when the Brazilian shared the octagon with Whittaker at UFC 298 in February 2024. "There's always a hater out there," de Ridder told MMA Junkie. "Did Paulo Costa never fight Whittaker? (He did). What happened?"
