Hans India13-07-2025
Nellore: Minister of Municipal Administration & Urban Development Ponguru Narayana has asserted that all promises made to people during 2024 elections will be fullfilled in a phased manner.
As part of ongoing State government's prestigious 'Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu' programme, the M&U Minister visited 46 & 50 divisions in Nellore city on Saturday.
On the occasion, the Minister detailed the welfare schemes of the coliation government to the people and appealed to them to bless Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for going ahead with more developmental activities in coming days.
Narayana pointed out that the State exchequer was totally emptied due to the mindless decisions adopted by the previous YSRCP government.
' During his five year tenure, former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy always concentrated about how to loot the public money instead of thinking about the welfare of State, ' he alleged.
Due to the misrule of previous regime, the coalition government was now grappling with financial crisis, he said.
Though there was fund crunch, the coalition government has been fulfilling all promises, the Minister pointed out. Measures are being taken to soon implement 'Annadatha Sukheebhava' scheme.
Narayana said that people felt happy and safe during the coalition government's rule during the last one year. He said the State government was ensuring that all eligible derive benefit from the welfare schemes.

Response to ‘Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu' positive, says Andhra Pradesh Labour Minister Subhash

Andhra Pradesh Labour Minister Vasamsetty Subhash has said that the government's 'Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu' programme is receiving encouraging feedback from the people. Addressing the media at the State Secretariat on Wednesday, Mr. Subhash said that during his visit to nine constituencies under the programme, people widely appreciated the development and welfare initiatives of the NDA government. The State had attracted investments worth ₹6 lakh crore, laying the foundation for 10 lakh job opportunities, he said. Of this, ₹20,000 crore had already come through the IT sector, with a potential to create 50,000 jobs. He alleged that the opposition party leaders were deliberately trying to disrupt the progress. Mr. Subhash mentioned about the successful implementation of schemes such as MSME, aimed at nurturing entrepreneurs in every household, and P4, which supported economically weaker families. He also said that the government had laid pothole-free roads at a cost of ₹1,200 crore. Under the Thalliki Vandanam scheme, financial aid was being directly credited to the mothers' bank accounts. Pensions and ration cards were being distributed to all eligible citizens, he said. Refuting allegations of job scam at Amalapuram, Mr. Subhash said he had no links with the accused and urged stringent legal action against the culprits.

CPI(M) launches two-day campaign against ‘anti-people' policies of the government in Mysuru

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) launched a two-day campaign to highlight the issues plaguing commoners and the ''anti-people'' policies of the State and Central governments here on Wednesday. The event was inaugurated by progressive thinker and writer Horeyal Doreswamy, who garlanded the statue of B.R. Ambedkar to mark the launch of the campaign. The CPI(M) said that apart from airing national and State-level matters, burning issues pertaining to Mysuru will also be highlighted to draw the attention of the authorities. Mr. Doreswamy, in his inaugural speech, expressed concern over what he said was an air of fear and distress among the vulnerable sections of the society, including farmers. He said that on one hand, farmers were being driven to suicide as the crops do not fetch remunerable price, and on the other hand, the number of educated individuals joining the roll of unemployment was also on the rise. Mr. Doreswamy flayed the government for the rise in prices of essential commodities, and said that it was adding to the financial distress of the poor and the working-class people. He also expressed concern that people were being divided along religious lines resulting in polarisation of the society. The writer pointed out that while the number of landless cultivators were on the rise, the government, instead of making allotment to them, was content with grabbing land from the farmers and handing it over to the corporates. This was also rendering many farmers landless, he added. The government was also flayed for its inability to construct houses and distribute it to the poor. Mr. Doreswamy said that only the Left parties in the country were airing concerns and issues pertaining to the commoners and fighting for the cause of farmers, workers, and the poor. CPI(M) district secretary Jagadish Surya touched upon issues related to Mysuru in particular, and said that there were no employment generation schemes in the region. Several industries, he said, had shut down, and thousands of acres of land acquired for industrial development was laying vacant, he added. The Mysuru City Corporation was urged to open ward-level clinics, and demand for the issuance of cultivation rights (Saguvali Patras) to the poor 'bagair hukum' cultivators was also made. Senior office-bearers of the party, including K. Basavaraj, N. Vijay Kumar, Jayaram, local committee secretary Subrahmanya, G. Rajendra, L. Jagannath, and others were present.

NDA looks divided over roll revision in Bihar

Patna: The NDA looks divided over the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar . While LJP (RV) chief Chirag Paswan and BJP leader and Union minister Giriraj Singh defended the process on Wednesday, JD(U) MP from Banka, Girdhari Yadav, said the Election Commission (EC) has no practical knowledge about Bihar and its history and geography and imposed the exercise on the state in rainy season when people are busy in agricultural activities. The Banka MP said the one-month time limit for submitting documents for voter list revision was impractical. July 25 is the deadline to submit the forms along with the supporting documents required. Even JD(U) MLA from Parbatta in Khagaria, Sanjeev, also raised concern and said many poor people of his constituency working outside Bihar were facing problems in filling their enumeration forms with the documents required. The JD(U) MP said it took 10 days for him to arrange the relevant documents and asked what will happen to his son's voting right as he was in the US. Sharing his experience, he also questioned the time limit of voter list revision and said that at least six months should be given for this process. However, he said it was his personal opinion and he did not care what the party was saying on this issue. "But this is the truth. If I cannot speak the truth, then why have I become an MP," he said. The Parbatta MLA also questioned the timing of SIR and said a large number of people from Bihar work in other states. "How will they be able to participate in the SIR process in such a short time," he asked and said it should have started by the time of Holi. The ECI says SIR is necessary to remove the names of those who are either deceased or have migrated to other places, or registered twice. The opposition has been alleged that the process targets the voters from marginalised and poor communities who don't possess the documents ECI requires as it has excluded Aadhaar and EPIC for voter verification. However, Union minister Chirag accused the opposition of deliberately spreading misinformation about the SIR to suit their political narrative. "It is beyond my understanding what the opposition really wants. Is it not correct that after the parliamentary elections, they complained about the voter list? The same thing they alleged after the Maharashtra elections. Now, the solution is SIR only. It is not the first time SIR is happening," he said. Giriraj also accused the opposition of politicising a constitutionally mandated process. "They crush the Constitution but take Baba Saheb's name. They are worried about the Rohingyas, the Bangladeshis. That's why they are scared," he alleged.
