The next Fan Edition smartphone is not coming from Samsung
The X200 FE will be initially introduced in Taiwan on June 23, followed by a wider global rollout starting on June 30. A new report claims the phone will be available in four colors: Black, Blue, Pink, and Yellow. European customers will be able to pick this one up for no less than €850, which seems a bit pricy for a 'flagship killer.' Since this has already been released in China, we know everything there is to know about its specs. For starters, the X200 FE is equipped with MediaTek's Dimensity 9300+ chipset, which made its debut about a year ago. Vivo's high-end phone packs 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The large 6,500 mAh battery supports 90W wired charging speeds. There are three cameras on the back side: 50-megapixel main, 50-megapixel telephoto, and 8-megapixel ultra-wide. Also, the X200 FE features a 50-megapixel selfie camera on the front side.

Other highlights of the phone include Android 15, IP68/IP69 ratings, under display fingerprint sensor, and stereo speakers. Vivo X200 FE lacks microSD card support, so you'll be stuck with the default storage.
On paper, Vivo X200 FE is a pretty decent high-end smartphone, but the price might remove it from everyone's wishlists. Just for reference, the cheapest version of S30 Pro Mini was priced to sell for 3,500 yuan ($485/€420) in China, so an €850 retail price in Europe might kill it on arrival.

Come on, Samsung! Don't give up on the tri-fold just yet

According to the interview, Samsung doesn't think that there's much demand for a tri-fold Galaxy foldable. Previous reports have claimed that this phone will initially see a very limited release in a select few countries, now we don't know if it will even make it out of those regions. Naturally, such a device couldn't have been expected to sell too well. It's a novelty phone, first and foremost, and it's unlikely to be all that practical either. But, I think we can all agree that the biggest reason it won't sell too many units is the price tag. A tri-foldable Samsung phone is not going to come cheap, much like its rival: the Huawei Mate XT. And yet, I think that there's a case to be made for the Galaxy G Fold. My biggest issue with them was the crease, and in my anticipation for a foldable iPhone that eliminated that problem, I neglected the entire segment. Then the Galaxy Z Fold 7 came has leaped multiple generations and made a foldable smartphone that is a worthy rival to the Chinese foldables that I had been ignoring until now. It's stunningly slim, it's powerful, and most importantly of all, its crease is almost non-existent now. From writing them off as a fad, to actively wanting to daily drive one, Samsung singlehandedly made me look at foldables under a new light. If the company can do this, and if Huawei can sell the Mate XT, then the Galaxy G Fold has a decent enough market, in my opinion. And, even if it didn't, I'd say it's worth the investment. If Samsung is going to give us phones like the Galaxy S25 Edge, which is just innovation for innovation's sake, then it should go ahead with the G Fold too. The G Fold will likely not sell well until it's able to ship with a much lower price tag, but I think it's worth getting to that point. No one's buying a Huawei phone in the States after the Google ban, as painful as it is to admit, and the G Fold is the only chance that they'll have at a tri-fold worth getting. Lastly, Apple is currently working on multiple new iPhone models. There is the iPhone 17 Air, slated for release this year. We've also gotten multiple reports that the foldable iPhone may come out next year. Additionally, there will be a new 20th anniversary iPhone Pro model that will feature no cutouts or notches on its Galaxy G Fold will keep Samsung ahead of its largest rival by providing consumers with a device that they cannot get from Apple. Apple is late to the foldable market, and Samsung has the chance to leave it behind in another segment immediately. The Galaxy S25 Edge isn't selling well, but despite that, there are reports that there will be a Galaxy S26 Edge and no S26 Plus. In my opinion, there isn't a market for the Edge models either, not until they can use silicon batteries to provide better runtime. Samsung, if you're still insisting on the Edge despite that, then the G Fold also deserves a chance. Release it globally, then make a successor like Huawei is currently doing, and I think you'll find that there are enough people willing to get one to make it a profitable venture. Smartphone batteries are finally getting the upgrades we deserve
Battery life still remains a nuisance in the smartphone industry for heavy users, even with newer phones that have denser and higher capacities packed in their chassis. Fortunately, it seems that smartphone batteries are finally about to get the upgrades that we all deserve. According to supply chain reports ( translated source ), the current state of dense silicon batteries isn't the limit, if companies play their cards right. By the end of this year, 7,000 mAh batteries will become a lot more common, and it's only going to go up from the next year and onward. Current silicon battery limits are forcing research teams to experiment with new materials and shapes. This is going to make it possible for standard phones to feature batteries even larger than 8,000 mAh. Using new shapes and steel shells ( for structural support ), it is quite likely that we're not too far off from a normal consumer-grade smartphone that has a 10,000 mAh battery. The new Honor Power already has a battery capacity of 8,000 mAh, and the Honor X70 will feature an 8,300 mAh battery while measuring in at only 7.7-7.9 mm. Now all that's left is for Samsung, Apple, and Google to adopt these new batteries into their flagship offerings are certain regulatory limitations due to which these companies haven't been able to keep pace with their Chinese rivals. However, Samsung and Apple are reportedly researching on these batteries at this time, and I'm hopeful that we'll see the fruits of their labor sooner rather than later. The newly released Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, while an absolutely stunning phone, does have the downside of using the same battery as the Galaxy Z Fold 6: a 4,400 mAh pack. While the Fold 7 battery is pretty good in other important aspects, I wouldn't mind seeing a bigger battery in the future. Fingers crossed that Samsung and Apple's ongoing research leads to silicon batteries with higher capacities but the same durability as their previous Li-ion batteries. More details emerge about the iQOO 15
Vlad, 12 July 2025 Back in May we heard that the iQOO 15 would have a 6.85-inch QHD+ Samsung-made flat LIPO OLED screen, and today the same prolific leaker going by Digital Chat Station on Weibo is back with more details. The phone will have a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, something the iQOO 12 had but the iQOO 13 gave up on, sadly (it only had a non-periscope 2x optical zoom telephoto). iQOO 13 The iQOO 15 also has an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, vivo's self-developed independent display chip, as well as support for 100W wired charging. iQOO is apparently still deciding whether to include wireless charging as well, but it does seem to be leaning towards adding this feature according to DCS. Alongside the periscope, it was one of the few things missing from the iQOO 13 if one wanted to declare it a true all-out flagship device.
