We've all had that one moment with the basketball in the backyard. It's you against your cousin or sibling, going at it one-on-one for the championship. What championship? Nobody knows, really. You're just playing ball. And, if you win, you get bragging rights until the next day when you do it all over again.
You can just picture the moment in your head now. You've got the ball. Your cousin plays up on you pretty tightly — you're probably getting fouled, honestly, but whatever. You're imagining the clock winding down and putting up that last shot to win the game.
You probably bricked the shot, but who cares? You had a good time. And, best of all, you got to spend time with the homie. That's what matters in the end.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nickeil Alexander-Walker got to live out that scenario in real life on one of the biggest stages the NBA has to offer.

These two have probably had moments just like this so many times growing up together. They played on the same basketball teams growing up until SGA went to college at Kentucky in 2017 and NAW went to Virginia Tech.
Shai said he felt a bit bad about having to play his cousin in the Western Conference Finals because of how close they are, but he certainly didn't show any mercy on that jumper. That's probably a bit of revenge for the trash talk NAW gave him in the group chat.
It's all good, though. Alexander-Walker got a bit of revenge a few plays later when this foul got overturned and Shai ended up on the ground.
This is such a fun matchup to watch. These two will have a lot to talk about over the summer, no matter how this series ends.

Both shoes are signed, and both autographs include letters of authentication from Professional Sports Authenticator's authentication arm, PSA/DNA." That first start for Bryant came during a road game against the Dallas Mavericks, and on that day, he made five of his 11 field-goal attempts and scored 12 points in 32 minutes. Back in February, the sneakers Bryant wore in 2013 when he tore his Achilles went for $660,000 at an auction. In April, a jersey that was photo-matched to the one he wore during his first regular-season game was sold for $7 million.

Marcus Morris Sr. was arrested on Sunday related to fraud charges while in Broward County, Florida, online booking records showed. The NBA player and ex-Knick was picked up on a felony charge of Fraud – Writing a Check with Insufficient Funds, with the report indicating he was arrested at an airport. Much was made about Nikola Jokić's stoic reaction to winning the 2023 NBA championship. This is not that. Jokić, whose love of his horses is well-documented, watched one of them win a race in his home country of Serbia on Sunday. Arena Sport TV documented the action and Jokić's reaction in a video that the Denver Nuggets shared Sunday afternoon. Jokić let the emotions fly. He then hopped a fence to access the track, still in tears as he approached his horse and his jockey with his arms wide open. He then shared a hug with the jockey and gave his horse a pat on the back. The tears kept flowing as he walked with his team to the celebration circle. There, Jokić was in charge of the magnum bottle of champagne. He popped the cork, then sprayed down his team, horse included. He then proceeded to pour champagne on the heads of his team members while saving the final champagne shower for himself. It was a display of unbridled joy. Cue up Jokić's stoic reaction in the immediate aftermath of leading the Nuggets to the NBA championship in 2023: "It's good," Jokić told ESPN when asked how it feels to win his first championship. "The job is done. We can go home now." This reaction resulted in jokes about how much Jokić does or doesn't care about basketball. Which were, of course, silly.
