Get an early look of the Ohio State football entrance in 'College Football 26'

USA Todaya day ago
It's almost time for everyone to get their hands on the latest edition of the popular EA Sports college football video game, "College Football 26." It drops for everyone on July 10, but those who buy the Deluxe Pack can have access to play the game on July 7.
Before that, some have been able to access the gameplay prior to the public, and thanks to Spruce's YouTube Channel, we have our first look at Ohio State football's entrance. In it, the game creators included Script Ohio, the tunnel entrance, more of the band, and more. You can even see a likeness of head coach Ryan Day, but do that as you will.
Get a look for yourself before a lot of others can, but taking a look at the video shared by The Scarlet and Gray Podcast by way of the Spruce YouTube channel.
Only a few days left until we're all playing. I'm sure there will be more to come on the ins and outs of the game from an Ohio State slant.

Former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer turned down chance to be college football team's GM

Urban Meyer on becoming CFB general manager: 'I'd rather step on a rusty nail and pull it out myself' Despite former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer being out of college football now for over six years, it seems like his name still comes up when there are vacancies in the college game. His stint in the NFL was so bad that he'll likely never get a chance to prove himself at the highest level again, but he's still one of the best college football head coaches in the history of the game. These days, Meyer is working as an analyst with Fox Sports' "Big Noon Kickoff," but he also appears on his podcast, the "Triple Option," to discuss all things college football with some of his Fox College Football hosts. This past week, Meyer dove into a discussion about the future of college football with all the changes we've seen, and he let loose some little-known information. According to Meyer, he was approached by a college football team to be their General Manager, handling some of the business surrounding the new pay models and such that the sport is now working through. 'I don't know if I even told Rob (Stone) and Mark (Ingram) this, but I had a school come see me this year and ask if I wanted to be the GM,' Meyer said. 'And a couple other phone calls. And you start to think, 'OK, they actually came to see me,' so I said, 'Yeah, I'll meet and I'll sit down with you guys.'' Sounds intriguing, but also under the radar. So, why didn't we hear more about this? Well, according to Meyer, it was mainly the job description he wanted no part of. 'I said, 'OK, what is the job description?' They said, 'Well, basically you meet with all the agents of the 17-, 18-year-olds,'' Meyer said. 'And I thought, 'I'd rather step on a rusty nail and pull it out myself.' Ouch. Suffice it to say, we won't see Meyer in that capacity anytime soon. We'd all also like to know what school approached the three-time national championship-winning coach, but he didn't divulge that information. Too bad, but if Meyer doesn't want that type of job, I mean, who else would? It's a brave new world in college football, and Meyer -- and many others -- likely want nothing to do with the headaches that come from all the things that go into paying players, and we don't blame them one bit.

Baker Mayfield heaps more praise on former Ohio State receiver Emeka Egbuka

If you've been paying attention to things coming out of OTAs for the various NFL franchises, you must have picked up on the fact that former wide receiver Emeka Egbuka has been making a lot of fans down in Tampa. The Bucs already had one whale of a wide receiver room, but they decided to double down and take Egbuka with their first-round NFL draft pick to give quarterback Baker Mayfield another weapon through the air. So far, so good, according to Mayfield. The Tampa Bay quarterback has already said some flattering things about Egbuka when he first got a look at him, but now, the former Heisman winner turned NFL Pro Bowler has continued to heap praise on Ohio State's all-time leading receiver. Egbuka not only has the physical tools to be special, but he's got a high football IQ and is a model citizen on and off the field. According to Mayfield, the sky is the limit. 'Obviously, the physical tools…At this level, you have to have talent, and obviously, he has that, being a first-round draft pick, Mayfield said. "The thing that sticks out is how cerebral he is. He's so smart. Right now, I think we could plug-and-play him at every receiver spot – he understands the offense that well. That's just him being a pro already. He's not a rookie – he doesn't act like it at least.' That's impressive for a rookie who hasn't even taken his first snap in the NFL yet. Egbuka's work ethic is legendary, and we all know how he handled himself with the media and among his teammates. If there's a guy to keep an eye on this year that might surpass expectations, look no further than down in Tampa where Egbuka is making a case to see a lot of playing time. Paul Finebaum makes bold claim about Ohio State chances of repeating as national champions

Ohio State got up off the mat after a loss to Michigan at home to go on a historic run to win the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff. It was a veteran team with a lot of talent that finally began to play like the best team in the country, leaving a several top ten teams in its wake on the way to a memorable season. Despite losing 14 players off the roster to the NFL draft, there are many who still believe there's enough talent on the roster for Ohio State to defend its national title and be right there at the end again. After all, OSU has the two best players in college football with Jeremiah Smith on offense and Caleb Downs on defense, plus a five-star talent that could be taking the reigns of the offense in Julian Sayin. But not everyone thinks Ohio State has what it takes. ESPN's Paul Finebaum is one of those who think the Buckeyes don't quite have what it takes to repeat. When appearing on "Get Up," he didn't beat around the bush when asked if Ohio State could repeat. 'I don't like Ohio State,' Finebaum said. 'I think Ohio State is going to lose in the opener against Texas, and they are going to struggle to make the playoffs, let alone win it all.' Finebaum stayed on Ohio State in addressing Smith's "promise" to beat Michigan the next two seasons with some critical words for Ryan Day. 'I'm glad to see someone on the Ohio State lineup maybe do something more than just mouthing words because Jeremiah sounds serious,' Finebaum said. 'Ryan Day has promised after every loss not to lose again, and he continues to lose again. "They are the defending national champions, so even clowns like me on the fourth of July are not going to call for a firing of a coach because he loses one game. But that is a game he has to deal with at some point. But that national championship game will pay a lot of bills, probably, yes, including another loss to Michigan.' Finebaum has never been short on criticism and controversy, and his critiques of teams often go over the top, but at least you know what you are getting from him. He doesn't mince words, and in this case, he clearly believes Ohio State is a far cry from the team we saw last season, so much so that he doesn't even think the roster is good enough to easily get into the College Football Playoff.
