County Mayor Hutto to deliver annual State of the County address

Yahoo14-03-2025
Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto will deliver his annual State of the County address on Wednesday, March 26.
The Mayor's Office says planned topics will include economic growth, achievements for the previous year and goals for the next decade. Topics that Wilson County residents feel are the most impactful will also be discussed, including housing and cost of living.
The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the address and luncheon at the Wilson Bank & Trust Operations center, located at 105 N. Castle Heights Ave. in Lebanon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Chamber is selling tickets for residents wishing to attend in person for $20, which will cover the cost of the luncheon. Catering will be done by Wildberry Catering.
The address will be recorded and broadcast for residents unable to attend. Viewers can watch on Wilson County Television, which can be seen on TDS Telecom Channels 7 and 1007, DTC Channels 198 and 498, Charter/Spectrum Channel 198 and AT&T/U-verse Channel 99.
Wilson County's YouTube page will also have a recording of Mayor Hutto's address.
'It is an honor to deliver the State of the County Address. We have so many great things to brag about in Wilson County that we have to present the Address two times each year! We rank as one of the top counties in the state, and we believe that is because of the amazing people who live and work here,' Mayor Hutto said. 'We hope to get these great facts out to as many citizens as possible on March 26th. Our office would especially like to thank the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce and Wilson Bank & Trust for helping make this possible.'

Verizon is offering a NFL Sunday Ticket subscription for free, if you qualify

Andrew Grush / Android Authority TL;DR Verizon is offering the NFL Sunday Ticket free ($480 value) to users adding a new line or switching to Verizon Home Internet. Customers not making these changes can still save over $200 on the NFL Sunday Ticket through Verizon. Verizon customers can also grab limited free NFL game tickets via the My Verizon app on August 7. erizon recently drew some negative attention for removing loyalty discounts alongside a few minor fee increases, but this time, Big Red has something a bit more positive to announce. Once again, Verizon is offering the NFL Sunday Ticket from YouTube for free to select users—representing a value of around $480. The NFL Sunday Ticket promo applies to both new and existing customers and gives you access to every live out-of-market Sunday game. Unfortunately, unlike with T-Mobile's free sports streaming perks in the past, there is a catch here. To get the offer, you'll need to add a new line or switch to Verizon Home Internet. This includes Fios, 5G Home, or LTE Home plans. Don't need a new line or web access? You can still save over $200 on the NFL Sunday Ticket through Verizon versus subscribing directly. In addition to the Sunday Ticket pass, Verizon is also offering a limited number of NFL game tickets up for grabs to all Verizon customers via the My Verizon app on August 7 at 8am EST. Unlike the NFL Sunday Ticket promo, you don't need to add a line or make any other changes to get your hands on these tickets, but be aware that supplies are limited. I'll be honest, I feel like Verizon needed a bigger win here. Recently, it's gotten negative attention for price increases, and while the company has attempted to sweeten things with new perks, this feels like a missed opportunity. Offering the NFL Sunday Ticket for free would have made Verizon's perk program feel like it's at the same level as T-Mobile Tuesdays and might make the recent price increases at least a little easier to swallow. Still, for fans of the NFL, this remains a great way to save a little cash this upcoming football season. Follow

Permission To Pause: The Leadership Skill You Can't Control, But Can't Afford To Ignore

There are some things in leadership (and life) that simply can't be fast-tracked. And paradoxically, those are often the most powerful, enduring, and impactful things. It's not necessarily that they take a long time, but rather that we don't get to control how long they take. And that, for high-performing leaders used to optimizing everything from revenue forecasts to daily workflows, can feel maddening. But it's also a core truth we ignore at our peril. Trust doesn't follow a Gantt chart. Clarity rarely arrives on schedule. And innovation has an inconvenient habit of ignoring deadlines. So while some projects fall magically into place and teams gel in record time, others meander, frustrate, or stall, and it's not because you're doing something wrong. It's because the most meaningful breakthroughs don't obey our Pushing Backfires (Even When the Stakes Are High) We've all been part of teams that clicked instantly and others that never quite got there, despite months of effort. The difference isn't always strategy or skill. Sometimes, it's timing. And the challenge for leaders is that we're often accountable for results on a timeline that doesn't match the pace of what truly matters. That's why we overwork, over-schedule, and over-function. Because we think if we just push hard enough, we can force momentum. But in complex, human systems, that's rarely true. When we try to optimize our way through the fog of trust-building or idea-clarifying, we risk launching things that aren't ready (products, teams, partnerships). And best case, those things underperform. Worst case, they do harm - to customers, reputations, morale. Or we lose something subtler but equally costly: the long-term trust of our team or the creative spark we were trying to build in the first Horses Teach Us About Timing This is where horse wisdom comes in. In equine-assisted leadership, one of the most powerful tools is robust presence. It's not sequestered mindfulness, it's deep, embodied awareness of what's actually happening around you, and within you, in real operate in a nonlinear, highly attuned space where presence is not optional, it's how they survive. And when we tune into that same kind of awareness, we become better able to read what's truly needed in a moment, rather than what we planned or hoped would be needed. Presence allows you to recognize when a team has clicked and you can skip three steps - or when, despite your best onboarding efforts, you're not there yet and trying to push forward would backfire. It requires a shift from performance mode to attunement mode. And yes, that's hard to do in a world of deadlines, investor expectations, and quarterly revenue goals. But that doesn't make it less necessary. It just makes it a more courageous choice.A Real-World Case Study: When Giving Up Was the Unlock Leadership coach Michael Neill tells a story about a defense contractor under immense pressure to deliver on a government contract. As the deadline loomed, the team was stuck: brilliant, experienced people unable to crack the final problem. The leader, recognizing that burnout was escalating and progress was nonexistent, made the hard call: to stop. To 'bag it,' as he said. To have the difficult conversation about not delivering. And then something unexpected happened. The next morning, several team members showed up at the office early. One had an idea sparked at dinner. Another had a breakthrough during a sleepless night. Independently, they had each stumbled onto the same solution. By releasing the pressure and giving the team permission to fail, the leader created space for a creative breakthrough that pushing never could have Letting Go Is the Most Responsible Move So much of mature leadership is about knowing when to let go - of the timeline, the rigid plan, the illusion of control. That's not quitting. That's attuned leadership. It's recognizing when something isn't ready, or conversely, when something is working before you've ticked all the boxes. Because sometimes, the breakthrough is right around the corner. Sometimes, what your team needs isn't another push, but permission to pause. And that pause isn't passive. It's an act of trust. Of wisdom. Of leadership.A Reflection for the Road Where in your work (or your life) are you pushing for something to happen on your timeline, rather than listening for what the moment is asking of you? And what might shift if you gave yourself, or your team, permission to pause? Because sometimes, surrender isn't the end of the story. It's the beginning of the next chapter. I've built a simple tool to help leaders identify what's no longer serving them, and where their next level of impact might already be waiting.
