From Beyonce to Linkin Park: The can't-miss tours making history in 2025

Mint3 days ago

The year 2025 is turning out to be monumental for live music with some of the world's top performers returning to the stage. Some of them have been breaking attendance records and electrifying venues across the globe.
At the forefront is Lady Gaga, who set a staggering new benchmark with 2.5 million attendees at a standalone concert this year. This, according to an earlier HT report, was one of the highest-attended live music events in history. Gaga, who performed at Copacabana on May 3, drew more audience than Taylor Swift or Rihanna did, as per the report.
Meanwhile, Metallica's M72 World Tour also drew a massive crowd of its own. With support from acts like Limp Bizkit, Pantera, Ice Nine Kills, and Suicidal Tendencies, the band drew a crowd of 47,500 attendees at the JMA Wireless Dome, where record-breaking attendance was last witnessed in 1982.
Running from April 19 to June 29, the tour is smashing expectations and reasserting the band's legendary status.
However, this is not all; other major players are keeping the stage hot this year. For starters, Beyonce, or as fans call her, Queen Bey, returned with her Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour, which began in April and will conclude in July, showcasing her country-inspired album that includes hits like 'Texas Hold 'Em' and 'Blackbird.'
Next in line is Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar, who set a new record for the highest-grossing hip-hop concert. Reportedly, he made $14.8 million at Seattle's Lumen Field during his Grand National tour; he also became the first rapper to break the $9 million mark for a single performance and achieved this feat twice in 2025.
Coldplay is currently globe-trotting as their Music of the Spheres World Tour continues until September 2025. According to an IQ Magazine report, the band earned $136,838,807 from 21 concerts they held so far. The band has made stops in Europe, Asia, North America, and New Zealand.
In 2025, Billie Eilish is on the road with her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, while Linkin Park is hitting the stage for their From Zero Tour, featuring bands like Queens of the Stone Age, AFI, and Spiritbox from April 26 to September 24.
Classic rock fans were excited to see AC/DC back on tour with their Power Up Tour from April 10 to May 28, along with The Pretty Reckless. If you're after a cool concert experience, The Eagles are doing a residency at the new Las Vegas Sphere from January 17 to April 12.
Even though Taylor Swift is taking a break in 2025 after her Eras Tour, there are still lots of great shows and live performances to check out.
Lady Gaga, with a record-setting 2.5 million fans attending her standalone concert.
Artists like Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Billie Eilish, Coldplay, Linkin Park, and Metallica are all on tour in 2025.
No. Taylor Swift wrapped her Eras Tour in December 2024 and will not tour in 2025.

Matty Healy calls himself 'best songwriter'; takes playful swipe at Taylor Swift: 'I'm being sincere'

During The 1975's latest headline show, Matty Healy called himself a 'generational wordsmith' and seemed to poke fun at Taylor Swift 's album 'The Tortured Poets Department'. In his usual cheeky style, the 36-year-old musician used a bit of trademark stage humour at the Glastonbury Festival in England on Friday, 27 June. He set the mood for his band's hit song 'Chocolate' by flashing gibberish lyrics on the festival's main screen. According to a video by Variety, Healy told the crowd before the song, 'I want to be sincere for a second with everybody. What this moment is making me realise is that, yeah… what this moment's making me realise is that, and I'm being sincere, I probably am the best.' Joking about being a poet 'I'm probably the best songwriter of my generation. The best, what do we say, a poet, ladies and gentlemen, is what I am,' Healy added, with a clear hint of sarcasm. 'Generational wordsmith. I just wanted to remind you, you know, in the next couple of minutes, these lyrics, this poetry, I bleed for you. Alright? Just take that in, alright? Take it away, boys.' The band then launched into 'Chocolate', with the crowd laughing along at the nonsense subtitles. According to the Daily Mail, Healy later told fans he was 'only joking about being a poet'. A subtle nod to Taylor Swift? This comes more than a year after Swift put out 'The Tortured Poets Department', which included songs about her brief time with Healy. Tracks like 'Guilty as Sin?', 'Fresh Out the Slammer', 'I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)', and 'loml' seemed to touch on their short romance. The two dated for a few weeks in 2023 before splitting in June. A source told PEOPLE at the time their relationship was 'always casual'. Swift moved on with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, while Healy is now engaged to model Gabbriette Bechtel, after announcing it in June 2024. More music and surprise returns at Glastonbury Elsewhere in their Glastonbury set, The 1975 performed hits like 'Somebody Else', 'It's Not Living (If It's Not with You)', 'Give Yourself a Try', and 'About You'. The festival's other big acts include Olivia Rodrigo on Sunday, 29 June, and Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts on Saturday, 28 June. Friday's gig was The 1975's first since wrapping up their 'Still… at Their Very Best' tour in March. Meanwhile, two years after he struggled to finish his 2023 Glastonbury set due to his Tourette's syndrome, Lewis Capaldi made a surprise return to the stage. The singer told fans it was 'so good to be back' and joked 'second time's a charm'.

Taylor Swift's ex Matty Healy calls himself ‘the best poet'; seemingly mocks the singer onstage

Taylor Swift makes her songs about love and heartbreak with sharp jabs at her exes, but can she handle it when the tables turn? Matty Healy, was recently performing at Glastonbury 2025 when he suddenly paused mid-performance and threw a line into the air that left fans stunned. The 1975 frontman seemingly referenced The Tortured Poets Department, Swift's album announced during her 14th Grammy win, which famously nods to several exes, including Healy, who she briefly dated. A clip of the moment, posted on Variety's X account, has since gone viral. And just like that, fans knew exactly who he was talking about. The performance marked the band's only major one of 2025. He told the crowd, 'I want to be sincere for a second with everybody,' before adding, 'What this moment is making me realise is that, and I'm being sincere, I probably am the best.' He then called himself a 'generational wordsmith,' a phrase quite similar to Taylor's lyrical themes in TTPD. Matty Healy pretends to choke up during the 1975's #Glastonbury set and calls himself 'the world's greatest songwriter.' — Variety (@Variety) June 27, 2025 Taylor Swift's 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department is widely known to have been inspired by her time with Healy. The two were rumoured to be dating from March to May in 2023. However, according to many in the industry, unlike some of her other exes, Swift has no bad blood with the singer — she believed he was one of the most sincere among them. Still, when the album dropped, fans pointed out tracks like Guilty As Sin, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, and I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) all seemed to throw punches at Healy, and now, it looks like the table has turned. Fans at the concert even shouted Swift references during his speech, and the internet is flooded with reactions pointing out the obvious: Matty was 'responding' to being roasted in her lyrics. Matty showed up at nearly every Eras Tour stop he could, was seen hanging out with Swift's closest friends and collaborators, including Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley, and even joined her at NYC's Electric Lady Studios. But the romance was short-lived. Swifties urged the Blank Space crooner to call it off, pointing to Matty's past, from controversial interviews to problematic comments. In the end, insiders blamed their split on 'incompatibility and busy schedules,' though many believed there was more under the surface. When Swift dropped TTPD last year, fans instantly connected the dots — lyrics about a guy who 'used typewriters, smoked cigarettes and ate chocolate' and someone she tried to 'fix' were hard to ignore. Matty, on the other hand, stayed silent, until now. After their breakup, Taylor Swift moved on with NFL star Travis Kelce. The duo started dating last summer and are going strong, with wedding rumours in the air. Meanwhile, Matty got engaged to model Gabbriette Bechtel in June 2024. She was seen cheering him on at Glastonbury, alongside his mom, actress Denise Welch.
