'When I was fat and overweight, as a kid also, I believed in one thing: that there's nothing better than walking. Even today, when I want to lose weight, I just keep in mind to get out there and walk. Just be physically active. You cannot sit on your best eating food and then cribbing about the fact that you're not losing weight,' he said.
Kapoor had earlier shared in a now-deleted Instagram post that it took him 15 months of consistent effort to shed the extra weight.

Arjun Kapoor's daily fitness and food schedule
According to The Indian Express, Kapoor follows a high-protein diet and avoids junk food, high-carb, and sugary items. He includes fresh fruits, vegetables, and protein-rich food in his meals.
In the now-deleted Instagram post, he had revealed his daily routine:
He begins his day with eggs and then works out at the gym.
Lunch is usually a Greek Souvlaki wrap, followed by meetings and calls.
In the evening, he eats Turkey Sushi and exercises again.
Dinner includes Turkish kebabs with muhammara sauce, mint chutney, and pickled vegetables.
His workout routine involves weight training, circuit training, CrossFit, and cardio exercises.
Dealing with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and mental health
In 2024, Kapoor spoke about being diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid gland and slows down metabolism. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, he said,
'I haven't always opened up about it, but I also have Hashimoto's disease (the autoimmune disease damages the thyroid gland), which is an extension of thyroid. It's almost like I can take a flight and gain weight because the body goes into distress... your body is in fight-or-flight mode.'
He also talked about how the condition affected his appearance and career.
'That (Hashimoto's disease) happened to be when I was 30, and I defied it and I said, 'No, this can't be'. My mom (Mona Shourie Kapoor) used to have it, and my sister (Anshula Kapoor) also has it... If I look back today, I can see myself and my body changing through the course of my films. Now that is 2015-16, that's seven-eight years of me holding that physical trauma and then my films not panning out at the same time,' he said.
Kapoor also revealed that he had taken therapy for mild depression during this period.
Despite losing over 50 kg, Arjun Kapoor continues to work on his fitness. In the TOI interview, he described his transformation as a 'work in progress,' suggesting that he remains focused on staying fit and healthy.

India reports 65% jump in Grade A green-certified office buildings

India has reported a 65% jump in overall Grade A green- certified office stock across the top 7 cities since 2019 as developers are increasingly constructing LEED, IGBC or GRIHA certified stock to stay in sync with the demand. According to Anarock data, about 530 million sq ft of Grade A office stock in the top 7 cities out of the total Grade A office stock of 865 million sq ft is green certified as of H1 2025 across cities. 'The push towards sustainability comes partly from the Government's own initiatives and commitments, and partly from the demand for such solutions. There is increasing awareness about the need for sustainability across all real estate segments,' said Anuj Puri, Chairman - Anarock Group . Live Events As per Anarock data, the top 7 cities saw approx. 26.8 million of office space leased in H1 2025, of which over 74% was in green- certified office buildings. City-wise, Bengaluru led decisively - of the net 6.6 million sq ft Grade A office stock leased in the city in the first half this year, certified green buildings accounted for a massive 80%. 'However, the demand for sustainable office buildings outstrips that for green housing. A vast number of occupiers, especially MNCs and GCCs, now insist on sustainability features only available in green-certified Grade A office buildings." In contrast, there has still not been such an imperative-driven shift in the Indian housing segment, and this is visible in the relative scarcity of green residential stock in the country,' Puri said. Despite their commanding premium rentals vis-à-vis regular Grade A office stock, green-certified office spaces have seen leasing increase significantly over the last six years. 'Sustainability is no longer just about meeting regulations. In commercial real estate, it is quickly becoming a genuine advantage. A 24% rental premium and lower vacancy rates show that companies are willing to invest more in spaces that reflect their ESG values and support their people. What is also clear now is that corporates see the carbon performance of office interiors as just as important as green building certifications. Sustainability in fit-outs is becoming a strategic priority for both global and Indian occupiers,' said Vibhor Jain, Founder & CEO, Carbon Guardians , a firm specializing in Design & Build and managed offices. The average monthly rentals of green-certified office spaces in the top 7 cities are up to 24% higher than in regular, non-certified Grade A office stock. 'The surging popularity of green office buildings across India is not merely a passing trend, but a strategic imperative in line with the nation's bold climate ambitions. India has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2070, and to expand its non-fossil energy capacity to 500GW by 2030. Green office buildings are a major link in this equation. As India grapples with escalating urban pollution and environmental pressures, both developers and businesses must take responsibility for championing sustainable choices in the built environment,' Puri said.

Malayalam actress Urvashi demands answers from jury after National Award win: ‘Who decides what counts as the best performance?'

Veteran actress Urvashi may have walked away with the Best Supporting Actress honour at the 71st National Film Awards for her powerful role in Ullozhukku, but she's not staying quiet about the way the winners were chosen. While most recipients celebrated in silence, Urvashi is making headlines for openly challenging the system and demanding transparency in how these national honours are decided — especially when it comes to lead acting categories. Speaking to Manorama News, Urvashi questioned whether there's a standard scale for acting or if, after a certain age, actors are simply expected to accept whatever category is offered to them. Though she expressed happiness about being selected for a meaningful film that resonated with audiences, she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the jury's decision-making. According to her, the Centre and State have a responsibility to make the selection process transparent. Referring to fellow actor Vijayaraghavan's shared win in the Best Supporting Actor category (alongside Muthupettai Somu Bhaskar), she asked what consistent criteria, if any, were being followed. About Ullozhukku Despite the criticism, Urvashi called Ullozhukku one of the most physically demanding roles of her career and expressed gratitude for the opportunity. Ullozhukku is a 2024 Malayalam drama directed by Christo Tomy, starring Urvashi and Parvathy Thiruvothu in lead roles. The film also features Arjun Radhakrishnan, Alencier Ley Lopez, and Prashanth Murali. Released on June 21, 2024, the film earned strong critical praise—especially for Urvashi's standout performance. While it didn't break box office records, Ullozhukku quietly carved out a name for itself with its emotional depth and strong storytelling. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan and Vikrant Massey shared the Best Actor award, while Rani Mukerji won Best Actress for her performance in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway.
