Sunday Brunch star Morgan McGlynn shares 'earth-shattering' news as fans rally
Sunday Brunch's cheese expert Morgan McGlynn has opened up about her heart-wrenching breast cancer battle.
Taking to Instagram, the presenter revealed the "earth-shattering" diagnosis to her followers with a hospital bed snapshot.
Her post read: "In October 2024, I was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. It was nothing short of earth-shattering. But we've done our best to keep like as normal as possible for our daughter."
The Channel 4 star, who recently married her partner Ben Carr in 2022, shared her unique treatment journey: "Treatment is different for every person. No two paths are the same. But here's what happened to me."
She detailed the immediate actions taken before starting chemotherapy: "I was given a week before chemo to get my ducks in a row, which included chopping my hair off and IVF and egg retrieval, something I'm incredibly grateful I was able to do," reports the Mirror.
Morgan then described the gruelling six months of chemotherapy she endured: "Then came six months of weekly chemotherapy. The hardest thing I've ever done. Some weeks, I sat for 13 hours at a time, thanks to my friends who kept me company. And for those who've been through the cold cap, you'll know it's no joke."
She admitted needing time to process before going public: "I had to catch my breath and get through the hardest parts before sharing this,".
Finally, the cheesemonger expressed her reason for sharing her ordeal online, having not known many of the symptoms herself before being diagnosed, as reported by the Express.
She concluded: "If even one person sees this and it prompts them to check a lump or get a second opinion, it could save a life. Please trust your gut."
Fortunately, the broadcaster's situation is improving. Morgan shared: "Two weeks ago, I had surgery - and a few days later we got some very, very good news. I want to say thank you - to my amazing husband, family, friends, and the people who have shown up in a million small and mighty ways."
Her celebrity mates and dedicated followers were quick to express their support online. One user penned: "I'm so sorry to hear. Your incredibly brave and honest post has really moved me deeply. Sending you every good wish I can imagine. It sounds like you have a phenomenal inner strength and an army of loved ones around you [heart emoji]."
Another commented: "Oh my goodness shattering news for you to take in. So, so well done for getting through it and ALSO for sharing on here. You're an absolute [star emoji] sending energy and positivity [white heart emoji]."
A third agreed: "What a post thank you for sharing, sounds like you are surrounded by love and loved ones," while a fourth added: "Sending hugest hug. You are a warrior."
A fifth joined in with: "So happy to hear you've had good news. It's a tough, tough road and after diagnosis you're never the same. The cold cap is not for the faint hearted! It makes you realise how strong you can be. Well done and best of luck to you."

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) NICK Knowles' wife Katie has revealed that she has had a hysterectomy after going through 'years of pain'. But just over a month after their big day, Katie went to hospital to undergo a hysterectomy procedure. The operation involves the removal of the uterus and womb, but it can also involve other organs such as the ovaries or cervix. A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure which removes a woman's womb and may also involve the removal of other organs, such as the ovaries. She posted a behind-the-scenes montage video on Instagram as she shared a candid look from her experience. Katie wrote an essay in the caption of the video as she revealed that she has suffered years of pain because she suffered from endometriosis and adenomyosis. In the video, the personality appeared in a gown and compression socks as she elected to have her third operation. She took selfies from the bed as she showed her 98k followers round her private bathroom. After the surgery, she also had several bandages on her stomach as Katie wrote: "I'm 35 and I've just had a hysterectomy. "I've lived with pcos, endometriosis and adenomyosis since Moses wore short pants. And no, it wasn't 'just a bad period.' Nick Knowles' wife Katie reveals truth about why she looked so 'disinterested' at 6-figure wedding after bride shaming "It was constant hospital trips. Multiple laparoscopies. Bleeding through clothes. Vomiting from the pain. Being curled up in bed, missing out on life. "It was extreme bloating that made me look pregnant. It was migraines, stabbing pains in my legs, butt and stomach. "It was chronic fatigue. It was hiding in loos, crying over another ruined day. It was my daughters terrified of getting their periods in case they end up like mummy." She continued: "Years of misdiagnosis & being fobbed off. Told to take painkillers. That it was 'normal.' It wasn't. don't recognise the woman I am when I'm in pain. Because I don't want to remember the days where I was too sore, too tired, too bloated. "I've cried on bathroom floors. I've bled through clothes in public. I've had 3 surgeries. "I've tried every pill, every patch, every hormone tweak. I've been put on a medical menopause just to get through uni. And still… the pain came." "Today I looked through my phone and realised I hardly have any photos of myself like this. "Because I don't recognise the woman I am when I'm in pain. Because I don't want to remember the days where I was too sore, too tired, too bloated." When heavy periods could be something sinister WHEN it comes to periods, there is a textbook definition of normal - but then there is also what a normal period looks like for you. For some (lucky) people, these definitions overlap; for others, they don't. The NHS recognises a 'normal period' as losing between 30 and 60ml, or six to eight teaspoonfuls, each month. A 'heavy' period' is anything more than 80ml. Another, arguably simpler, way of working out whether your period is heavy is to count the number of pads or tampons you use. Having to change a pad or tampon every one to two hours, or emptying a menstrual cup more often than is recommended, is a sign your period is heavy. An NHS test can also help reveal whether your periods are heavy and if it's worth seeing your GP. Dr Fran Yarlett, GP and medical director at The Lowdown, said: "Heavy periods can be normal for some people. "But if your periods have changed and become heavier, this can signify medical problems." This could be: Early-stage cervical cancer Fibroids (non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the womb) Perimenopause (the time during which your body makes the natural transition to menopause) Hypothyroidism (when the thyroid doesn't produce enough hormones Endometriosis (tissue similar to that in the womb grows in other areas of the body) The star admitted that she has no plans to have more children, however she is still going through 'grief' as she felt that that choice was taken away from her. "I didn't want more children, my girls are everything. But that doesn't mean this is easy. Because the choice has been taken from me. "And that grief is real. It feels like something in me has changed, apart from being sans uterus. "Right now, I'm in lots of pain. Im bloated. I'm exhausted. I'm hot. I'm forgetful. I'm hot (see how that works on multiple levels 😂). "I feel raw and less like myself. Less like a woman, if I'm being really honest." "But this was a decision I made to take my life back. To stop surviving and start living again, & have days that aren't defined by pain." Katie also opened up on her raw emotions around the surgery, but she urged social media users to be kind. She added : "This is hopefully the beginning of healing. The beginning of self-love, scars, stitches and all. "And please, if you've made it this far, I ask gently: This is something deeply personal. If you're tempted to leave a judgmental or flippant comment, I'm asking you to just scroll on. Noel Gallagher's daughter reacts to adorable family moment at Oasis gig
Noel and Liam Gallagher's band Oasis are official back on tour for the first time in more than two decades, with thousands of fans travelling to see them perform Oasis star Noel Gallagher's daughter Anais has shared her sweet reaction to her cameo at their Heaton Park gig last night. She took to her Instagram to share a clip as she attended her dad's concert, watching on in the crowd to support her dad. The 25-year-old posted the video which featured the Oasis stage at Heaton Park as they performed in their native Manchester. In the clip, a tiny voice could be heard saying "That's rock 'n' roll baby" – which Anais revealed was a recording of herself at seven years old. She captioned the post: "That's my little 7 year old voice" as she shared a cute face emoji to react to the touching moment. Across the night Anais shared a collection of clips and photos of her dad – who she branded the 'coolest' – while performing at the reunion tour. Oasis have recently embarked on their come-back tour after not performing together for more than two decades. Liam and Noel had infamously been feuding ever since the band split back in 2009. The pair announced last year that they would be going on tour 16 years after splitting. At the time of the announcement, they shared a video to promote the comeback when Liam was heard saying: "When we both come together, you have greatness." Noel then says: "I know my brother better than anybody else. This is it, this is happening." The brothers started their reunion tour in Cardiff and performed some of their biggest hits during the first show. Their set list consisted of hits such as Roll With It, Fade Away, Morning Glory and Stand By Me. They began the show with their song Hello. However, some fans weren't too happy while watching the latest show at Heaton Park last night. Liam was met with jeers during the epic Oasis homecoming gig, but it wasn't his music that ruffled feathers. The gig took an unexpected turn when Liam paused to make a heartfelt dedication. Liam announced: "I'd like to dedicate this to the greatest manager of all time, Mr Pep Guardiola." The shoutout caused some unrest among the fans which lead to boos. However, Liam wasn't too offended as he fired back: "Who you f***ing booing, who you f***ing booing." The camera then focused on a life-size cut-out of Pep Guardiola wearing a Man City scarf, which was displayed on stage. However, the crowd then broke into laughter and Liam kicked off a rendition of D'You Know What I Mean. Adding to the excitement, Pep Guardiola himself was seen backstage, mingling with the Gallaghers, including Noel's daughter and Liam's sons. A weather warning was issued for the concert due to the UK heatwave this weekend. Concert organisers tole fans to stage hydrated and wear sun screen. The warning then told concert goers to "wear a (bucket) hat" as well as to stay in the shade when possible. It finished with saying: "Look after yourself and look after each other."

Peter Andre reveals strict rule that made Princess and Junior 'kick off'e
Peter Andre has opened up about the no-phone rule that initially left his children, Princess and Junior, 'rolling their eyes'. The 52-year-old TV personality is a father to Junior, 20, Princess, 18, Amelia, 11 with former wife Katie Price and Theo, eight, and Arabella, who is 15 months old, with GP Emily Andre. He recently attended a parliamentary screening – hosted by Lord John Nash and Joe Powell MP – of Fabio D'Andrea's film Another Way, in which he plays the dad to a teenage boy called Josh who attempts to take his own life after being bullied. The movie aims to raise awareness about the dangers of smartphone use among teenagers and has inspired Andre to implement some of the lessons in his own household. Speaking to The Sun at the screening, the Mysterious Girl hitmaker explained that he had now banned phones at the dinner table for his two eldest children. 'It's really interesting about my oldest two having been quite popular on social media [Princess has 758k followers and Junior has 530k on Instagram]. 'And I remember that when social media first started, we had no clue. It just looked like a bit of fun. 'It was again that nice little imagery of this really fun thing, being on your phone and you could play games and you could do all this,' he said about the evolution of the phone. Instead, he said it 'lures you in' and has now become his kids' job, focusing around interactions, followers and brands. After telling his daughter there are 'no phones and no TVs' at dinner, he said: 'At first they rolled their eyes, they kicked off. That lasted all of two days. They never said anything since.' He advocated for the 'little things' parents can do to place boundaries around phone use in the home because 'everyone kicks off about it, but eventually they do it'. Elsewhere, during a discussion about the emotional movie which portrays stark scenes of teenage suicide, the I'm A Celebrity star admitted he felt 'very out of [his] depth' when it comes to protecting his children from their phones. Reflecting on the hypocrisy of his own phone usage and urging parliament to help stem the crisis as well, he shared: 'You can't have a phone or just tell your kids, it's not that easy. We need backup. We need the government's help. We need the schools' help.' The award-winning composer D'Andrea is pushing to ban social media before the age of 16 through an amendment to the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill. 'Social media apps have become breeding grounds for propaganda, false narratives, and online abuse,' the filmmaker said in a statement. D'Andrea is known for his work with high-profile figures to raise awareness about pressing social issues. In the past, he has collaborated with Spice Girls star Mel B on a movie about domestic abuse, Love Should Not Hurt, and mental health with actor Russell Tovey, Something Left To Love – to name a few. More Trending The issue around teenage mental health, violence against women, and the harmful repercussions of unchecked online activity were explored in Netflix's smash hit show Adolescence. The four-episode show, starring Stephen Graham and Owen Cooper, follows a 13-year-old boy accused of the murder of a female classmate as we uncover exactly what drove him to commit this violent crime, and the impact on him and his family. View More » Prime Minister Keir Starmer backed an initiative to make the show freely available to secondary school students in the UK in hopes of 'openly talking about changes in how they communicate, the content they're seeing, and exploring the conversations they're having with their peers'.
