GSM Arena2 days ago
The vivo Y50 5G is official alongside the Y50m 5G - both solid entry-level smartphones for the China market. The core specs are the same; the difference is in the memory configurations - the Y50 has a 4GB option, while the Y50m starts from 6GB.
Both have a 6.74-inch 1600x720px IPS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate, and a potent 6,000mAh battery with 44W charging. They run OriginOS 5, and are powered by the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300 with four RAM options - 4GB (Y50), 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB. You either get 128GB or 256GB of expandable storage.
The Y50/Y50m is equipped with two cameras: a 13MP f/2.2 wide-angle lens on the back and a 5MP selfie shooter on the front.
Both phones measure 167.3mm tall, 77mm wide, and 8.2mm thick, and weigh in at 204 grams. They're dust tight and have some degree of water protection at IP64.
The Y50/Y50m come in Azure, Diamond Black, and Platinum and are now up for grabs from vivo's online store. The Y50 is CNY 1,199 (around €143, INR 14,500) for the 4/128GB model, CNY 1,499 (around €180, INR 18,000) for the 6/128GB one, CNY 1,999 (around €240, INR 24,000) for an 8/256GB config, and CNY 2,299 (around €275, INR 27,600) for the 12/256GB unit.
The Y50m has the same prices - CNY 1,499, CNY 1,999, CNY 2,299 - and just lacks the base 4/128GB choice.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 review

Bigger displays and more battery in a slimmer body - reads like a promising summary of the upgrades that the Galaxy Z Flip7 brings. Samsung's better clamshell for 2025 is another one of those refreshes that won't shake up the industry, but should be guaranteed to keep sales high. For the first time in the lineup, there are two Flips this year, and the regular Z Flip7 is joined by a Z Flip7 FE. We'll be reviewing that more affordable model in due time, but until then you can have a look at the Z Flip6's pages - the FE isn't a whole lot different. Now back to the premium Z Flip7. For starters, the cover display cutout is gone - the new model's larger 4.1-inch outer screen stretches across the entire top panel edge to edge. About time. On the inside, the foldable display has grown too - less obviously in diagonal (6.7" to 6.9"), and a bit more tangibly in width. Samsung's also managed to up the battery capacity - 4,300mAh isn't huge but it's nearly as much as the way larger Z Fold7 gets. And all that has been fitted in a body that's thinner than the older model and weighs as much - sure, it's wider, but something had to give. The Z Flip7 falls off the Snapdragon train and is powered by an Exynos 2500 instead - that's bound to trouble comment section warriors. Perhaps the 256GB base storage will calm them down - no more 128GB version. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 unboxing The Galaxy Z Flip7 ships in a graphite cardboard box that's got the usual dimensions for a box with no charger in it. A USB-C cable is still included - Samsung's basic 3A one, which is really all you're going to need with that 25W charging. There's also a SIM tool in case you don't have immediate access to paper clips or earrings. Page 2

Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge to fix its predecessor's main issue while being even thinner

Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Edge in May, and there have been many rumors since claiming that next year, the Galaxy S26 Edge will replace the Plus model in Samsung's lineup, arriving alongside the S26 and S26 Ultra in January. Today, a new rumor from prolific Chinese leaker Ice Universe tells us to expect some interesting changes from the next Edge. Namely, it's said to be even thinner than its 5.8mm predecessor, while also packing a larger battery. The bigger cell will be made possible by the use of "new battery material technology", which may instantly make you think Si/C, and sure, it could be that, but it also may not, we'll have to wait and see. Either way, it's good to hear that Samsung is working on alleviating the main issue with the S25 Edge in its successor - the available device's 3,900 mAh battery sure does enable it to be as thin as it is, but it obviously doesn't make it a very reliable device in day-to-day use.
