Ukraine drone attack disrupts Volgograd railway power, Russia says
There were no injuries as a result of the attacks, the administration said on the Telegram messaging app, citing Governor Andrei Bocharov.

Russia's defense ministry said on Telegram that its air defense units had destroyed nine Ukrainian drones over the region. In total Russia downed 99 drones overnight over 12 Russian regions, the Crimean Peninsula and the Black Sea, the ministry said.
Russia's civil aviation authority Rosaviatsia said on Telegram that it had suspended flights soon after midnight at the airport in the city of Volgograd, the administrative center of the Volgograd region. The flights had not resumed on Sunday morning.
Because of the attack, trains were delayed in parts of the region, RIA state news agency reported.
The extent of the damage inflicted by the Ukrainian drone attack was not clear. The Russian defense ministry reports only how many drones its units destroy, not how many Ukraine launches.
There was no comment from Ukraine. Kyiv has often said that its attacks are in response to Moscow's relentless strikes on Ukraine since Moscow invaded in 2022 and are aimed at destroying infrastructure key to Russia's war efforts.

Pakistani security forces kill three militants linked to 2024 attack on Chinese in Karachi
Pakistani security forces in an overnight raid killed three suspected militants accused of orchestrating last year's attack in which two Chinese nationals working in a textile mill in the southern port city of Karachi were wounded, officials said on Monday. Azad Khan, a senior official with the Counter-Terrorism Department, said the dead insurgents included the alleged mastermind of the November 2024 attack. He identified that person only as Zafran and said he was from the Pakistani Taliban, who are known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan or TTP and are allies of the Afghan Taliban, who seized power in Afghanistan in 2021. China has repeatedly pressed Pakistan to improve security for its nationals working on major infrastructure projects under Beijing's multibillion-dollar Belt and Road Initiative, which include roads, railways and power plants. Chinese nationals have increasingly come under attack by militant groups, including TTP and the separatist Balochistan Liberation Army — banned by the Pakistani authorities and also designated as terrorist groups by the United States. Pakistan has pledged to bolster security measures for Chinese workers, including those employed at private factories. Meanwhile, at least seven people were killed the previous day in Tirah Valley, a district in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Fiaz Khan, a local government official, said. He said the violence erupted when hundreds of residents gathered outside a military camp to demand protection and justice after a child was killed in a mortar attack on the weekend. The crowd came under gunfire from 'unknown gunmen,' Khan said. Indian army says three men killed after firefight in Indian Kashmir
NEW DELHI: The Indian army said on Monday that it had killed three men after an intense firefight in Indian Kashmir, according to a post by the army on X. The men are suspected to be behind the April 22 attack on Hindu tourists in Indian Kashmir that sparked a deadly military conflict with neighbour Pakistan, two Indian TV news channels said. Reuters could not immediately verify the involvement of the men in the attack.
