Marcus Theatres unveiled its Screen X theater in Minnesota earlier this month. The 270-degree screen debuted with the opening of Thunderbolts* at Southbridge Crossing Cinema in Shakopee.
Screen X, which aims to create a more immersive theater experience, expands films beyond the front-of-theater screen, putting the action on the side walls of the theater as well.
The company, which is separate from Marcus Theatres, works with studios to identify scenes that would benefit from the extended screen on a film-by-film basis, Pamela Henson, Marcus Theatres' Director of Media and Communications, said during a media unveiling.
Around the country, Screen X is currently available at select theaters from B&B Theatres, Regal Cinemas, Cinemark, and Marcus Theatres, with AMC planning to open some this summer, per the Hollywood Reporter.
However, the only one in Minnesota outside of Southbridge Crossing Cinema is at B&B Theatres Bloomington 13 at the Mall of America.
Starting with Thunderbolts*, there are a handful of features and concert films that will be available in Screen X through the end of the year. First up will be Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning and the live-action How to Train Your Dragon. Later in the year, 28 Years Later, Predator: Badlands, Jurassic World Rebirth, F1, and Wicked: For Good, will be available in Screen X, among other movies.

Coach's chief executive officer, Todd Kahn, served as cohost for the event. For the special occasion, Pugh turned to the ready-to-wear runway and to ongoing red carpet trends for her look. The actress accessorized her look with delicate pieces of jewelry, including a body chain and a ring for her septum piercing. She also carried a black shoulder bag with a silver chain. She completed her attire with sandal heels. The pieces from Pugh's attire made their runway debut during New York Fashion Week in September 2024. The collection emphasized a sense of optimism, with Vevers curating pieces that spoke to a DIY sensibility and edginess for a new generation. 'In that vein, spring was all about rediscovering and reinvestigating American classics through the lens of these young people,' Emily Mercer and Jean E. Palmieri wrote in WWD's review of the collection. The spring 2025 ready-to-wear runway show attracted a bevy of high-profile attendees, and Ella Emhoff, daughter of former Second Gentleman of the United States Doug Emhoff, hit the catwalk for the collection. 'The song was written initially about my grandmother going through serious injury and trauma, leading her to become a different person to who she was before,' he said. 'It's about the feeling of deterioration and ugliness; shutting out the world and the people we love out of the fear of becoming a burden or an embarrassment.' The artist added, 'We all want someone or something to comfort us no matter how we are right now or who we become in the future. But it's f—ing scary.' The song will feature on the British rocker's upcoming double album Idols, which will be released in two parts. The first half will drop on June 20, a day before his headline set at his own festival Bludfest in Milton Keynes, England. Chase Atlantic, Rachel Chinouriri and Denzel Curry all feature on the lineup. Harrison kicked off the Idols era back in March with the nine-minute LP opener 'Hello Heaven, Hello' showcasing his intent. In an accompanying press release, he said of the song: 'It's a journey of self-reclamation, a goodbye to the past and how you may have known or perceived me before, and a hello to the future and where I'm going. It sets the precedent for what this album is.' His past two albums under the Yungblud moniker — Weird! (2020) and Yungblud (2022) — both reached No. 1 on the U.K.'s Official Albums Chart.
