Pensioner on mobility scooter critically injured in crash
Emergency services attended and the pensioner was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where staff described his condition as critical.
Sergeant Ross Allison, of Police Scotland's road policing unit, said: 'Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this crash and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that may assist to contact us.
'I would also ask any drivers with dashcam who were in the Gartlea Road area at the time to review their footage and please contact us if it holds anything which may be relevant.'

Those who protested outside the house in the Levenmouth area on Sunday night have been warned that violence towards police will not be tolerated. Police estimate between 80 to 100 people were there. Uniformed officers were joined by specially trained public order officers after the crowd became abusive towards police, throwing eggs and stones at them. No-one required hospital treatment, but three men, aged 22, 38 and 47 were arrested and charged in connection with disorder. The 38-year-old was also arrested and charged in connection with assault. In addition, a 36-year-old woman and a 15-year-old female have been charged in connection with vandalising property. Police Scotland said it was 'concerning' there were a 'number of children present'. Police officers are also members of the community and it is fortunate someone was not seriously injured. "We understand there are strong feelings in the local area but that is no excuse for violence or disorder. We are particularly concerned with the number of children present last night. A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged after a three-vehicle collision on the A84 at the entrance to Blair Drummond Safari Park at the weekend. The emergency services responded to reports of the crash at around 3.50pm on Saturday, August 2. The crash involved a Mercedes Vito Tourer, a black Seat Leon and Ford Focus Zetec on the A84 at its junction with Somers Lane, directly outside the safari park. A 40-year-old woman, who was a passenger within the Mercedes vehicle, was taken to hospital for treatment. A Police Scotland spokesperson added: 'A 38-year-old woman and a 46-year-old male, both passengers within the Seat Leon, were taken to hospital. 'The occupants of the Ford Focus were checked over by ambulance personnel and reported no injuries.' A 37-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences. He was released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date.
