Miley Cyrus' night didn't quite go as planned for her NBC special 'New Year's Eve Party' when she suffered from a 'medical emergency' due to an ovarian cyst rupture. In her interview with Zane Lowe, she detailed her 'pretty traumatic experience' on the show, which was contrary to what everybody saw. 'I had a, uh, ovarian cyst rupture,' Cyrus told Lowe while recalling her unpleasant night as she rang in 2023. 'We didn't know exactly what was going on, so we did it, but it was pretty traumatic, cause it was extremely excruciating,' she detailed.
The Grammy winner revealed that she 'did the show anyway,' but claimed it had been 'really, really hard on me.' In fact, it was so distressing for her that she even considered discontinuing her music career — a journey she embarked on as a kid. But something the show's executive producer and 'SNL' creator, Lorne Michaels, told Cyrus helped her change her mind. In the interview, she recounted having dinner with Michaels afterward when he 'said something that now has stuck' with her.
'He goes, 'Six months, everybody has six months to feel sorry for themselves, and then we start to rebuild,'' Miley Cyrus narrated as she remembered their conversation. Cyrus claimed she knew it was far beyond her 'amount of time that I was able to shut down.' She continued how Michaels further shared with her about the countless artists who have told him about 'quitting music,' as he explained to her that everyone 'has these traumatic experiences.'
Ultimately, the 32-year-old singer recanted on her intrusive thoughts about pulling the plug on her remarkable career and gave her fans the music they deserved.

Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams stunned the crowd as they joined her onstage, delivering throwback hits like their 2001 anthem 'Bootylicious' and 2005 hit 'Lose My Breath.' The crowd erupted as the trio sang their individual parts and danced in sync with energy and chemistry. Bob Odenkirk thinks he was 'too hard' on 'SNL' as young writer: 'This show could be better'
The "Nobody 2" star also tells EW he "would love that opportunity" when asked if there's a chance he'll host the season 51 premiere. Bob Odenkirk has found new respect for Saturday Night Live after leaving the show. While discussing Nobody 2 at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, the actor tells Entertainment Weekly that he has gained a better perspective on SNL in the years since he finished his tenure as a writer, which lasted from 1987 to 1991. Although he's previously said that he had a less-than-stellar view of SNL while he worked there, he now realizes that he judged the show too harshly. "I was too hard on the show," he says. "I had a lot of attitude when I got hired there, like, 'This show could be better, this show could be Monty Python, this should be more cutting edge, this should be more dangerous.' And I was frustrated by it not representing purely my point of view. I wanted it to be me, my show." Odenkirk now understands that his desire to personally transform the entire voice of SNL was foolhardy. "It's not my show! It's a show that is shared by everyone who's in that cast, and everyone who's in that writing staff, and it's shared by generations, and not one generation," he says. He continues, "Everybody in America watches it, and it's a reference point for everyone. I think the 50th just made me more aware [than] ever of the amazing work that's been done there." The Better Call Saul star also thinks that he got to write boundary-pushing comedy on a later project. "I think Mr. Show, the show I did with David Cross, I consider my effort to do something edgy and new and try to blast through some barriers and go to another level," he says. Odenkirk also admits that he didn't fully appreciate how SNL's lightning-fast weekly schedule makes its production so difficult. "It's a bigger challenge than I thought it was when I worked there," he explains. "When I worked there I was 25, I was like, 'C'mon, dammit! We can do better! This is easy!' And it literally was the years since I've left that I went, 'Wait a second, that show is almost impossible to do at all.'" Additionally, when asked if he'd consider hosting the show during its upcoming 51st season, Odenkirk responds strongly in the affirmative. "I would love that opportunity," he says. "I have mad respect for the effort of that show, and I would dream of being able to host."Though he's never hosted the show before, Odenkirk says that it remains within the realm of possibility. "There's been conversation about it," he explains. "They don't have me locked out. I'm friends with everybody there, and I know so many of the writers, and I know so many of the actors. Destiny's Child have reunited onstage for a surprise performance during Beyonce's final Cowboy Carter concert in Las Vegas. The Grammy-winning singer kicked off her final concert at the weekend - the last of her 32 stadium concerts across the US and Europe on her Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour. During the concert, fans were stunned when Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined the stage. The three women, formerly known as Destiny's Child, performed some of their most loved throwback hits, including their 2001 anthem Bootylicious and their 2005 hit Lose My Breath. "I can't believe I saw that with my own eyes. We literally just saw so much of Beyoncé's history onstage just now - her past, her present and her future," gushed one concert-goer about witnessing the show. The famed girl group rose to fame in the 1990s with original members Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett. It eventually became a trio with Beyoncé, Rowland and Williams, who garnered much success before going their separate ways in 2006. They have stayed close friends over the years, each achieving success in their own creative careers. Fans around the world have been urging them to reunite ever since they disbanded.
