Spain coach Sergio Scariolo to step down after EuroBasket
Scariolo made the announcement on Wednesday as he released Spain's squad for the 24-team tournament — Europe's continental championship — that begins in late August and ends in September.

'EuroBasket will be my last competitive moment with the national team,' Scariolo said.
Scariolo is rumoured to be the next coach of Real Madrid, who is reportedly parting ways with Chus Mateo.
Spain beat France in the final of the 2022 tournament, the last time EuroBasket was held.
Spain is in Group C along with Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Georgia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Teams play each other once in the group. The top four in each section advance to the final phase in Riga from Sept. 6 through Sept. 14. Groups A and B will be on one side of the bracket for the knockout phase, Groups C and D will be on the other.

Paul Pogba targeting 2026 World Cup after joining Monaco
Paul Pogba says he has not changed almost two years since his last professional match, and is targeting an international return with France at the 2026 World Cup after signing for Monaco. The 32-year-old signed a two-year deal with the Ligue 1 club last week, having had his contract with Juventus ended in November 2024 after having his four-year ban for failing an anti-doping test reduced to 18 months. Speaking at his unveiling on Thursday, Pogba said: 'I was 25 years old then. Now I'm 32 years old with three kids. I only want to be focused on the pitch, that's all that matters to me. 'You know me. I like dancing, I like haircuts, I like clothes, I haven't changed. I'm the same Paul Pogba but with another, maybe bigger determination. 'Those who stayed close to me were my family and my children; that was my motivation to not let anything go. Real enters the quarterfinals with a relatively fresh Kylian Mbappé, who missed every group match after he was hospitalized with an acute case of gastroenteritis. He made his tournament debut, replacing Garcia in the 68th minute against Juve. Mbappé, 26, a member of France's 2018 World Cup championship side, can be handful and a half to cover and stop when he is at the top of his game. He is a player to watch.
