Big Brother 27's first episode will kick off with a special 90-minute premiere on Thursday, July 10, at 8:00-9:30 pm ET, along with longtime host Julie Chen Moonves returning to lead the action. While the debut episode will run longer than usual, the regular schedule for the season will vary slightly. Viewers can expect hour-long episodes on Sundays and Thursdays, while Wednesdays will feature extended 90-minute episodes—all airing at 8-9:30 pm ET.
The 27th season will also feature Big Brother: Unlocked every other Friday, starting July 25, from 8–9 pm ET. The show will include "three BB All-Stars (who) offer never-before-seen broadcast footage from the house, exclusive interviews, surprise guest appearances and unprecedented behind-the-scenes access. Former Houseguests (will) share firsthand insight and expertise as they analyze gameplay, assess the competition and give their insider's perspective," as per a press release.
According to Parade magazine, the live feeds will begin at 12:30 am ET on July 14.
The identity of mystery houseguests remained under wraps. Host Julie Chen Moonves described the individual as "highly polarizing," adding intrigue to an already unpredictable season.
FYI, Big Brother 2024 was won by Chelsie Baham who turned victorious in the final competition against Makensy Manbeck. While there have been 26 seasons of Big Brother, three additional seasons of Celebrity Big Brother have also aired. In 2023, the holiday special Big Brother Reindeer Games made its debut. These expansions have added new layers to the franchise.

Shaan on quitting Sa Re Ga Ma Pa against Himesh's advice, boosting Aditya's fame
Popular singer Shaan recently revealed the reason behind his abrupt exit from ZeeTV's longest-running show 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa'. This followed after the show's producer-director left to join 'Voice of India'. That decision arguably played a key role in boosting actor-singer Aditya Narayan's a recent interview, Shaan recalled how Himesh Reshammiya had advised him against quitting the show, with him saying, 'You are doing the same mistake as Mahima Chaudhary.'advertisementSpeaking to Mashable India, Shaan recounted the circumstances, 'After the end of one season, makers were prepping for a new season. During that time, something went wrong between ZeeTV and Gajendra Singh. He then left to join Star and started a new show called The Voice of India. Between the two shows, there was a gap. Himesh told me, "Don't leave 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa or Zee TV'. But, I was in guilt. I said the man who hired me had left the show. Then how can I be? I missed that season for that reason and Aditya Narayan stepped in.'He continued, 'When I took the decision to not anchor the show, Himesh told me a very interesting thing. He said, 'The decision you have taken is similar to what Mahima Chaudhary had done to herself.' At that point in time, I didn't understand his statement. Then I learnt that the makers of 'Big Brother' first wanted Mahima Chaudhary to join the UK series, which she didn't accept, and then it was passed to Shilpa Shetty, who took it up. She became a phenomenon post that.'For those unaware, Shilpa Shetty went on to become the first Indian celebrity to appear in the British reality television series. She eventually won the show, securing 63 percent of the public vote. This success also led to her hosting the second season of 'Bigg Boss'.According to Shaan, Himesh felt he should have stayed on. He continued, 'So here, Aditya became Shilpa Shetty and I became Mahima Chaudhary of my story. However, by God's grace, 'Voice of India' also did well, and I kept getting reality show gigs.'Earlier, in a conversation with TellyChakkar, Shaan had said, 'When I left Zee after 'Little Champs' and Aditya took over as host, he made the show popular. He is doing a great job. I think the success of the show primarily depends on the talent of the contestants and the rest is secondary.'Aditya Narayan stepped away from 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' in 2022. Sharing the news on Instagram, he wrote, 'With a heavy heart, I bid adieu to my hosting duties for a show that gave me my own identity as an adult, SaReGaMaPa. Reddit down: Users across US and India witness major outage, unable to access feed and threads
Popular social platform Reddit experienced a significant outage on Wednesday evening, leaving thousands of users unable to access content across the site. The disruption, which began around 9:30 PM IST (noon ET), has impacted users in the United States and parts of India, with homepage feeds, subreddits, and comment sections failing to load. Visitors to Reddit are currently greeted with a 'no content to display' message, as user profiles, posts, and comments remain inaccessible. The outage appears to affect both the website and mobile applications. According to real-time monitoring site DownDetector, over 2,500 users in India reported issues around 9:30 PM IST. Of these, 46 per cent cited problems with the app, 39 per cent with the website, and 15 per cent faced server connection issues. In the United States, the impact was significantly more widespread. More than 1,00,000 reports were logged at the same time, with 56 per cent of users experiencing app-related troubles, 33 per cent unable to access the website, and 11 per cent struggling with server connections. Reddit's official status account on X acknowledged the outage, stating:'Identified: We've identified the cause of the issue and are working to address it.' However, the company has not provided a specific timeline for resolution. The platform, which hosts millions of communities and is known for its lively discussions across a range of topics, from tech to memes and current affairs. As of now, Reddit remains partially inaccessible for many, and users are advised to monitor the platform's status page or official social media channels for updates. Meanwhile, social media platforms like X and Instagram were quickly flooded with memes and sarcastic posts, as netizens wasted no time in poking fun at the situation. A user going by the handle @andrew29834 shared a GIF of people frantically running, captioned: 'Everyone rushing to X to check if Reddit is down for the 30th time this week.' Another X user remarked, 'Reddit being down scares me so much because I always think my account got suspended."
