
KFH Assesses Community Engagement with Diraya Campaign
Conducted during the Derasti exhibition at the Kuwait International Fairground in Mishref, the experiment focused on testing students` banking knowledge. Its aim was to enhance financial awareness and highlight fraudulent activities customers may encounter through various channels, such as SMS, email, phone call, and social media.
The experiment elicited a range of responses from the students. Meanwhile, a KFH representative reassured the participating students that the bank would never solicit personal details through email, SMS, or phone call. KFH stressed the critical need to disregard such communications, identifying them as deceptive schemes aimed at acquiring banking credentials and pilfering funds or data.
KFH urged customers to safeguard their banking information by never sharing OTP codes and exercising caution with electronic links, as clicking them could lead to the theft of confidential data. The bank also advised enhancing account security by avoiding the storage of sensitive information like card numbers and PINs on phones, keeping PINs secret and unwritten, and always logging out of banking apps or websites after use.
KFH successfully utilized all its e-channels on social media platforms and its website, mobile app to disseminate awareness content. These endeavors amassed a significant interaction with customers due to the distinctive and useful contents of KFH`s cutting- edge services and products.
In conjunction with the rollout of its new digital services, KFH has published several awareness pieces. These services include Kuwait`s first instant printing of credit and prepaid cards, WAMD instant payment in collaboration with KNET, transfers via the Western Union network, and the AFAQ instant transfer service. KFH`s awareness efforts also encompass explanatory videos on topics such as new user registration on the mobile app, cardless cash withdrawals, ATM services, and how to benefit from KFHOnline financial solutions. These videos and other awareness posts are available on KFH`s social media channels (@KFHgroup).
In line with the continued awareness efforts, KFH is committed to participating in initiatives and forums that focus on raising banking awareness. These include its participation in the 5th Gulf Conference and Exhibition for Cybersecurity Challenges titled 'A Secure Digital Environment'. During its participation, KFH shed light on the concept of fraud in general, with a specific focus on cyber fraud, explaining the various types of fraud that pose a threat to both individuals and the community.

KUWAIT CITY, July 8: Jahra detectives have launched an investigation and begun efforts to apprehend an unidentified individual who robbed an expatriate in the Jahra area. The Deputy Public Prosecutor has classified the case as a felony, specifically under the charge of theft by threat and use of violence. According to a security source, the incident occurred when an expatriate, born in 1993, reported to officers at the Jahra police station that he had been robbed in the early hours of the morning. The victim stated that at approximately 4:15 a.m., while he was walking in Jahra, an unknown person driving a vehicle stopped beside him. The suspect then brandished a knife and demanded to see the victim's identification, telling him that he was a cop. The assailant proceeded to steal the victim's wallet, which contained his civil ID, two bank cards, and 35 Kuwaiti dinars in cash. Following the report, Jahra detectives were immediately notified and responded to the scene of the crime, which was identified as Block 5 in Jahra. Investigators noted the presence of surveillance cameras in the area, which captured footage of the suspect during the commission of the crime. Authorities are currently reviewing the video evidence as part of their ongoing efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrator. The investigation is ongoing, and police urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist in bringing the suspect to justice.

Gas Station Shoplifting Under Investigation With Biometric Evidence
KUWAIT CITY, July 8: Criminal security authorities have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend an unknown individual who stole items worth more than KD 85 from a store located inside a gas station. Surveillance footage captured the suspect committing the theft calmly and confidently. According to a security source, the use of biometric fingerprint technology is being considered to help identify the perpetrator, particularly as the video footage clearly shows the suspect's facial features. The source noted that this approach was successfully used in previous cases, where biometric data led to the identification of a similar suspect. In the official report, a 29-year-old Kuwaiti citizen, representing a company that operates several branches within gas stations, stated that the theft occurred at 3:00 a.m. on the 19th of June. The suspect, described as having a light brown complexion, of average height and slim build, was wearing a black T-shirt and light gray shorts. He entered the store and stole 10 pieces of chocolate, 5 bottles of tanning cream, and 4 lighters before leaving without paying. The stolen items totaled KD 85.600. The company representative submitted the surveillance video to the authorities. However, it remains unclear whether the theft was discovered by an employee at the time or later during routine surveillance review. Additionally, no information was provided about the suspect's vehicle, including its type or license plate number, which might have been captured by the cameras. The investigation is ongoing.

Kuwait Cabinet Reviews Revoked Nationality Cases and Ensures Citizen Rights

General Jamal Al-Dhiyab, Managing Director of the Public Investment Authority Sheikh Saud Salem Al-Sabah, and other senior officials from the Amiri Diwan and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Cabinet also reviewed messages addressed to His Highness the Amir from the leaders of several friendly and brotherly nations, which focused on strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation across various sectors. In another matter, the Cabinet discussed the rights of individuals whose Kuwaiti citizenship was revoked under Article 5(a) of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 (concerning those granted nationality for noble deeds). The Cabinet also reviewed the minutes of the Ministerial Committee for Economic Affairs, which included the approval of draft decree-laws on final accounts for independent-budget institutions for fiscal year 2024–2025. The Cabinet approved the draft decrees and resolved to submit them to His Highness the Amir. In cultural developments, the Cabinet approved the Kuwait Oil Company's initiative to oversee the restoration of the old Ahmadi market and Ahmadi Cinema, in collaboration with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters and the Ministry of Finance. The Cabinet concluded the meeting by approving several agenda items and referring others to relevant ministerial committees for further study and procedural completion. Additionally, the Council of Ministers approved the minutes of the Supreme Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Nationality, which included decisions on the revocation and withdrawal of Kuwaiti citizenship from certain individuals, in accordance with Decree Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments.
