Ariana Grande to Star in New Dr. Seuss Movie
Oh, we are truly blessed.
Warner Bros. announced today that the pop star turned Oscar-nominated actress will star in the animated movie, Oh, the Places You'll Go!, an adaptation of Dr. Seuss' beloved children's picture book of the same name.
The book follows an unnamed protagonist, simply referred to as 'you,' as they navigate the highs and lows of setting off on their own and finding their place in the world. Alongside themes of adolescence, the book focuses on teaching kids lessons about resilience, self-discovery, and confidence.
Oh, the Places You'll Go will be Grande's second collaboration with Chu after the Wicked and Wicked: For Good movies, in which she plays Glinda, the Good Witch. This will be Gad's first project with Chu. Gad is well known in the voice acting community for playing Olaf, the irreverent snowman, in Disney's Frozen animated films.
In addition to the stars already signed on for the film, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who previously won an Oscar for their work on La La Land, are set to create original music for the film, with Rob Lieber, known for 2018's Peter Rabbit, listed as the scriptwriter.
Warner Bros. shared the news about the film on their social media platforms today, posting a collage of photos of Grande and Gad in the recording studio, with the caption: '#ArianaGrande & @joshgad - Oh, the Places You'll Go! Directed by @jonmchu and #JillCulton, with original songs by @PasekandPaul. Coming to theaters in IMAX in 2028 🎈.'
Given the sheer number of Arianators in the world, it should come as no surprise to hear her fans were over the moon at the idea of hearing their diva's voice in a animated film.
Her fans also made sure everyone knows how hard their queen is working, describing Grande as 'booked and busy.'
One fan posted: 'our girl is hard at work 🎬."
The film is currently slated for release in IMAX theaters on Mar. 17, 2028.
Sadly, this means fans will have to wait a little under three years to see this infamous line from Oh, the Places You'll Go! somewhere other than graduation cards: 'Congratulations! Today is your day. You're off to Great Places! You're off and away!'

What Time Does ‘South Park' Season 27 Begin?

Trey Parker and Matt Stone's hit comedy series South Park is coming back with Season 27, but where and when you can see new episodes featuring Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny is a bit complicated. Created by and starring the voices of Stone and Parker, South Park premiered on cable's Comedy Central channel on Aug. 13, 1997. Now, 28 years after the series began, South Park is returning for its 27th season. Originally, South Park Season 27 was due to begin on July 9, but the premiere was pushed back due to Skydance's ongoing efforts to acquire Paramount Global. The corporation, of course, owns Comedy Central and has been seeking streaming rights for South Park for its Paramount+ platform, Deadline reported. With negotiations in a state of flux, the premiere date of South Park Season 27 was pushed back from July 9 to July 23, which raised the ire of Parker and Stone. 'This merger is a s--tshow and is f---ing up South Park,' Parker and Stone posted in a statement on X on July 2. 'We are at the studio working on new episodes and we hope the fans get to see them somehow.' Until a streaming deal is complete, South Park Season 27 will only be available on cable TV's Comedy Central, beginning with a two-episode debut on Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT. For viewers who don't have cable, Comedy Central is available on such streaming subscription services as Fubo TV, Hulu with Live TV, Philo, Sling and YouTube TV. The Los Angeles Times reported on Monday (via Variety) that, per sources, Trey Parker and Matt Stone have reached a deal with Paramount Global to bring South Park to Paramount+ in a five-year deal for $300 million a year. If that happens, Paramount+ would also get the first 26 seasons of South Park and five new seasons of the series, beginning with Season 27. While the first 26 seasons of South Park remain on HBO Max for the time being, Paramount+ is currently hosting seven South Park specials that began streaming in 2021.
