Big Ten tournament preview, bracket: Can Michigan State run table, crash No. 1 seed party?
Here's what to know about and what to watch for at the Big Ten tournament, including matchups, game times and TV.
3 storylines to watch
After starting the season unranked, Michigan State has emerged as one of the nation's best teams and enters conference tournament play on a seven-game winning streak that includes five wins over ranked teams, two of them over rival Michigan.
The Spartans appear locked into a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament and will hope to make a case for a No. 1 seed in Indianapolis. It's a long shot that will require some significant help from the SEC tournament. Either way, the Spartans are playing their best basketball at the right time and are red hot entering tournament play.
Michigan, meanwhile has been spiraling. After a 14-3 start to Big Ten play, the Wolverines have lost three straight and four of their last six, including Sunday's lopsided loss to Michigan State in the regular-season finale.
The Wolverines are slipping in NCAA tournament bracket projections and will look to get re-find their footing with a run in Indianapolis.
Ohio State, Indiana and Nebraska all enter Big Ten tournament play on the NCAA tournament bubble. Indiana appears to be the safest bet of the three after beating Ohio State in the regular-season finale. An early exit would spell trouble for either three of them.

BTN programming schedule for 2025 Big Ten Football media days next week
The college football season, and the opportunity to watch YOUR Ohio State Buckeyes on the gridiron, is just a little over a month away. And, if we are that close to breaking the seal on the 2025 college football season, it must be time for the annual spectacle that is Big Ten football media days. This year, the conference is taking advantage of its extended footprint out west by holding media days in Las Vegas, Nevada, so if there were ever a reason to cover all of the player and coach interviews, this would be it. Unfortunately for me, I'll be on a Disney Cruise instead, so the coverage will have to be from the view of the ocean with a drink in hand instead (woe is me). 2025 Arizona Cardinals training camp roster preview: LB Cody Simon
We will preview every player on the Cardinals roster leading up to training camp. This is about LB Cody Simon. The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team. Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook. Next up is inside linebacker Cody Simon. Cody Simon background, 2024 season A fourth-round pick from Ohio State by the Cardinals in this year's draft, Simon was a team captain in 2024 and was named winner of the Bill Willis Block "O" jersey for leadership, toughness, accountability and highest of character. He was the defensive MVP in a playoff win over Oregon with 11 tackles (three for loss) and 2.0 sacks and in the national championship win with eight tackles (one for loss). In five seasons with the Buckeyes, Simon played 58 games with 30 starts, totaling 259 tackles (23 for loss), 10.0 sacks, 11 passes defensed, an interception and four quarterback hurries. Of the 259 tackles, 255 were in his final four seasons. In 2024, he had a career-high 112 tackles (13 for loss), 7.0 sacks and seven passes defensed. Aside from football, Simons was a Big Ten Conference distinguished scholar, a four-time Ohio State scholar-athlete and a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree who graduated with a degree in finance and is currently working on a master's degree in human development and family services. Cody Simon 2025 contract details, cap hit Simon's rookie four-year contract is worth $5.2 million, including a $1.005 million signing bonus. His base salary this year is $840,000 and he carries a salary-cap charge of $1.091 million. 2025 questions, roster outlook With ability, character and intelligence, Simon could give Akeem David-Gaither strong competition for the starting Mike linebacker job. Ohio State football will be near bottom of returning production in 2025
Ohio State lost a lot of players to the NFL at the end of last season, 14 total drafted to be exact, just one shy of an NFL draft record. But as they say, programs like the Buckeyes don't rebuild, they reload, and that should be pretty close to correct for OSU in 2025. In fact, according to ESPN's SP+, Ohio State is rated as the No. 1 team heading into the fall. However, if you look at what the Buckeyes lost, it might not be as easy as some believe. If Ohio State is going to be a Big Ten and College Football Playoff contender, it'll have to overcome being near the bottom of the league and pretty far down the national scale in returning production. ESPN recently dropped its Big Ten preview, and used metrics to rank Big Ten teams in their returning production both in the conference and nationally, and Ohio State is quite far down the list, further down than I can remember in a long time, and it's at key positions. Ohio State will be ushering in a new quarterback, a brand new backfield, and an overhauled defensive line, just to name a few areas of concern. Again, the thought is that the talent and at least some experience are still there, but this team is far from the experienced one we saw last season. So, where exactly is Ohio State ranked in returning production? In the Big Ten, the Buckeyes land at No. 14 with 48% returning production according to ESPN. Nationally, the Buckeyes are No. 92, much closer to the bottom of the total number of FBS teams, at 136. Illinois has the most returning production in the league, followed by Rutgers and Wisconsin. Here's a look at each Big Ten team and where they rank in returning production, both in the Big Ten and nationally. It's always interesting to see how experienced teams that aren't generally near the top of the Big Ten do during the season, but if you simply take that into account, you would think that Illinois or Rutgers could surprise some folks this year.
