Christian school teacher is arrested for alleged sexual relationship with female student
Sarah Huggins Logan, a 35-year-old teacher at North River Christian Academy in Alabama, was charged on Friday over the alleged misconduct.
It is understood the parents of the alleged juvenile victim learned of the twisted affair on July 16.
They allegedly alerted the school and authorities that their underage daughter had been involved in a sexual relationship with a teacher.
The school said in a statement they 'notified the appropriate state and local authorities' and had 'cooperated completely with the responsible agencies.'
An investigation was immediately launched by the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Violent Crimes Unit.
Logan, who appears to be married with two children, was nabbed after a series of interviews and after police obtained 'other evidence', authorities said.
Now, authorities have expressed concerns that there could be more victims and are urging anyone with further information to come forward.
She was charged with being a school employee engaging in a sex act, but more charges could soon be added.
It is unclear how old the student involved was. It is also unclear when the alleged offending took place.
The school said: 'It should be self-evident to say that this incident is heart rending for all involved. This includes especially the families directly impacted.
'We have prayed for them and encouraged our entire school family to hold them up in their personal prayers. This situation is easy for no one; there are only degrees of difficulty.
'Our first concern is for the health and welfare of our students, staff, and families.
'Contributing to rumors and suspicions profits no one and contributes only to the hardships experienced by those impacted.'

Bombshell report finds the FBI Hillary Clinton email server investigation was 'sloppily done and incomplete'
A newly unveiled Department of Justice internal investigation charges that the FBI sloppily investigated Hillary Clinton 's 2016 email server scandal, resulting in an incomplete probe. The politically devastating investigation into the then-presumed Democratic presidential nominee was ended in 2016 after then-FBI Director James Comey announced that his agency would not recommend charges for Clinton after she used a personal server to store government emails - an infraction many Republicans argued was a crime. But an internal review of the FBI's investigation that finished in 2018 by the DOJ's Office of the Inspector General (OIG) found that not every stone was unturned. That 35-page addendum, published on Monday by the Senate Judiciary Committee, says the FBI failed to complete a 'thorough and complete investigation' after the OIG uncovered a thumb drive full of government emails that was never investigated by Comey. It does not specify how many of Clinton's emails were left untouched. 'This document shows an extreme lack of effort and due diligence in the FBI's investigation of former Secretary Clinton's email usage and mishandling of highly classified information,' Grassley said in a statement. 'Under Comey's leadership, the FBI failed to perform fundamental investigative work and left key pieces of evidence on the cutting room floor,' the statement continued. Comey's investigation primarily focused on approximately 30,000 emails Clinton sent or received while serving as secretary of state from 2009 - 2013. The probe uncovered 'top secret' files stored on Clinton's personal server, indicating she may have mishandled classified documents. The investigation, which also examined if foreign adversaries had access to the files, determined that though Clinton was 'extremely careless' in her handling of sensitive materials, it did not surmount to a violation of the law. The original investigation examined numerous devices and tens of thousands of emails related to Clinton and her aides. But there was also a realization that some devices had been destroyed or were inaccessible, hindering the breadth of the inquiry. The Clinton emails have been scrutinized extensively since 2016, with multiple reviews by the Department of Justice's Office of Inspector General (OIG) and congressional committees. The OIG has criticized aspects of FBI leadership and found mistakes were made, but concluded the investigation was not driven by political bias and that 'no prosecutable evidence' was uncovered against Clinton Comey noted in July 2016 that 'no reasonable prosecutor' would push a case based on the FBI's findings, but the scrutiny of Clinton's emails still cost her politically as she went on to lose the election to Donald Trump. The 92-year-old Grassley thanked FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi for helping the Judiciary Committee unseal the previously classified 2018 OIG report. The newly unclassified document is an appendix to the OIG's publicly disclosed June 2018 report into the Clinton email investigation. Dubbed the 'Clinton annex' by Grassley's office, the addendum came just a month after the initial report was filed, in July 2018. However, the file claiming the report was incomplete was never publicly reported, remaining classified until this week. Grassley, whose committee oversees the two agencies, has been conducting oversight of the Clinton probe for nearly a decade since 2016. He first petitioned the FBI to release the OIG's 'Clinton annex' in 2020. The annex says the overlooked thumb drive contained very sensitive information taken from the State Department, including some emails from President Barack Obama at the time. Though a drafted FBI memorandum recommended that the agency investigate the thumb drives, they were never reviewed as a part of the Clinton investigation, the annex states. The drafted memorandum stated that the thumb drives were critical to a 'thorough and complete investigation,' but that the FBI never submitted this request In addition to not investigating the thumb drive, the FBI also obtained intelligence that 'the Obama administration took efforts to scuttle the investigation into Clinton and protect her candidacy,' Grassley's office claims. The newly unveiled 'Clinton annex' shows Comey and others at the FBI did not make efforts to fully investigate those intelligence reports, the Republican alleges. The FBI's unwillingness to release the bombshell document stands in opposition to its eagerness to investigate Trump for alleged ties to Russia during the same timespan, the Iowa Republican says.

Noem gives update on border agent shooting
Both illegal immigrants involved in shooting an off-duty border agent in the face on Saturday are now in custody. One was detained when he sought medical attention for his own injuries over the weekend. And the second migrant involved in the crime is now detained, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem revealed during a Monday morning press conference on the horrific attack. The agent who was shot was able to use his sidearm service weapon to strike one of his two attackers – both of whom have a criminal record and are in the U.S. illegally. 'There's absolutely zero reason that someone who is scum of the earth like this should be running loose on the streets of New York City ,' Noem said. Noem said that she visited with the 42-year-old federal agent on Monday morning and his family. 'What we'll do in a city like this is we'll double down,' Noem said in her briefing alongside border czar Tom Homan and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Rodney Scott. 'We'll put more agents here, we'll put more personnel here, we'll give them more equipment, more training for situations where they might have to go into a dangerous neighborhood where local law enforcement won't be there to have their backs.' Trump's top three immigrant officials said they plan to make sure sanctuary cities are a priority for the administration. 'Sanctuary cities are sanctuaries for criminals. Hard stop,' Homan said during Monday morning's press conference. 'We are going to flood the zone,' he vowed. 'What we're going to do – put more agents in New York City to look for that bad guy. So sanctuary cities get exactly what they don't want – more agents in the community.' The agent shot in the Saturday night attack was sitting on a rock in Fort Washington Park, Manhattan with a female friend just before midnight. The victim was approached by two men on a moped attempting to rob him. One took out a gun after a brief interaction and fired at the agent. He was struck in the face and left forearm. The agent took out his gun, which was his federal service weapon, and shot at the men. His bullet struck Dominican national Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, who has been illegally living in the U.S. since 2023.

Americans feel Trump has gone too far with mass deportations, new polls find
If President Donald Trump had his way, the press would stop talking about his administration's handling of files related to his former friend, the late pedophile and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Rather, he'd wish that they would talk about his 'One Big, Beautiful Bill' or his policies related to immigration. But a series of new polls show that Americans do not approve of at least one of those core policies — Trump's efforts to deport swaths of immigrants from the country. CBS News released a survey on Sunday that showed 51 percent of Americans think the Trump administration is focused too much on deporting immigrants who are in the United States illegally. The same number of Americans also disapprove of Trump's program to find and deport migrants in the country illegally. The poll surveyed 2,343 adults in the United States between July 16 and July 18, with a margin of error of 2.5 percentage points. In addition to those bad numbers on immigration, a slight majority of 52 percent said that the Trump administration is trying to deport more people than they thought it would, and 56 percent of U.S. adults said that the administration is prioritizing deporting people who are not dangerous criminals. And a whopping 64 percent of Americans say that Hispanic people in the United States are subject to immigration and deportation searches from Immigration and Customs Enforcement as other races and ethnicities. During the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump talked frequently about enacting a mass deportation program to remove immigrants unlawfully in the country. Shortly after winning the presidency, he said that the plan would have ' no price tag.' His 'One Big, Beautiful Bill' would send $178 billion toward immigration enforcement and $30 billion to ICE specifically throughout the next decade. The White House also hopes to hire 10,000 new ICE agents to help with deportation. But lest the Trump administration brush off this poll as an outlier or 'fake news,' a new poll from CNN conducted by SSRS showed similar results. This one surveyed 1,057 respondents between July 10 and July 13, with a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points. That survey showed that 55 percent of Americans thought that the Trump administration had gone too far in deporting migrants living in the United States illegally, up from 45 percent in February. And a slight majority of Americans at 53 percent say that the efforts have not made the United States safer. The shift in public opinion shows that Trump has lost what was once considered his biggest asset. In 2024, many voters elected Trump partially out of frustration at the Biden administration's seemingly lax approach to the influx of migrants at the US-Mexico border. The fact Joe Biden tasked Kamala Harris with handling the 'root causes' of migrsation from Latin America saddled her the administration's least popular policy. And even ancestrally Democratic and majority-Hispanic counties along the US-Mexico border such as the Rio Grande Valley in Texas revolted and voted for Republicans, sometimes for the first time in decades. But many Americans have not taken too kindly to the Trump administration's crackdown on immigrants. In response to protests of ICE raids in Los Angeles, the Trump administration deployed the National Guard without the consent of the governor, which 59 percent of Americans oppose. Americans also seem to support protests against the administration, with 55 percent of them calling protests against the administration's deportation policies are justified. In terms of what concerns them, 47 percent of Americans are more worried about the government going too far in cracking down on protests, compared with 38 percent who fear the protests will get out of control. And Americans don't seem to like the specifics of Trump's anti-immigration policies, with 53 percent of respondents opposing increasing the budget for ICE by billions of dollars, 59 percent opposing an attempt to end birthright citizenship, 57 percent opposing building new detention facilities to detain up to 100,000 undocumented immigrants. Trump's dropping numbers on immigration are a warning sign going into the 2026 midterms, especially considering that many Americans already disapprove of his across-the-board reciprocal tariffs and Americans who have heard of it disapprove of the massive cuts to social safety nets in the One Big, Beautiful Bill. This nosedive could easily signal trouble for him as he seeks to accomplish what has long been a goal of right-wing ideologues for whom Trump has been the ideal vessel.
