According to the list of top 50 streaming originals in India, Pankaj Tripathi's ' Criminal Justice Season 4 ' has become the most-watched original show of 2025. Ormax Media has announced the list of top 50 streaming shows, which includes only content that is released directly on OTT platforms and does not have any licenses or dubbed titles.
Criminal Justice Season 4: A Family Matter is currently streaming on JioCinema (formerly Hotstar) and has surpassed several other popular original shows. It outperformed Bobby Deol's Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2, which took the second spot with 2.71 crore views. In third place was Panchayat Season 4 , starring Jitendra Kumar and Neena Gupta, with 2.38 crore views. Other web series like Jaideep Ahlawat's Paatal Lok on Amazon Prime Video and Netflix's Squid Game Season 3 claimed the fourth and fifth spots with 16.8 million and 16.5 million views, respectively.

Bengaluru; A new nationwide study released by Indian electronics brand Kreo has revealed a major shift in the country's gaming landscape, with more than 35% of gamers now comprising working professionals, including engineers, entrepreneurs, creators, and marketers. Women above 35 are emerging as one of the fastest-growing gamer demographics, the study notes. Titled 'How India Games', the report draws on responses from over 5,900 gamers across the country, providing one of the most detailed portraits of the Indian gaming community to date. It comes amid rapid growth in the sector — a recent WinZO–IEIC report projected India's gaming market to more than double to $9.1 billion by 2029. Among the key insights: • India's gaming population is growing at an annual rate of 16%. • While 94% of gamers are still men, women above the age of 35 are entering the space in large numbers. • 73% of female gamers admitted to concealing their gender online, citing experiences of harassment — yet many are leading and building new communities. • Mobile phones remain the dominant gaming device for 88% of players, even among multi-platform users. • Over half of all gamers express an active interest in creating content or joining the esports industry, suggesting growing ambitions around gaming careers. Interestingly, while most Indian parents still consider gaming a 'waste of time,' around 10% have begun playing alongside their children, suggesting a generational softening of attitudes. 'Gaming was an escape for me growing up,' said Ishan Sukul, Co-founder and CEO of Kreo. 'Today, it's how millions of Indians connect and express themselves. Through this report, we wanted to understand gaming not just as a hobby, but as a response to deeper cultural shifts — including loneliness and mental health.'

Actor Shanavas, son of Malayalam cinema's all-time greatest superstar Prem Nazir, passes away
Malayalam actor Shanavas, the son of one of Indian cinema's earliest and most popular superstars, Prem Nazir, has passed away at the age of 71. He had been undergoing treatment for kidney and heart-related ailments for many years. Shanavas breathed his last at a private hospital in the state capital of Thiruvananthapuram, late on Monday evening. Born in Thiruvananthapuram as the son of Prem Nazir and his wife Habeeba Beevi, Shanavas obtained a master's degree in English literature from The New College, Chennai, before venturing into cinema. Subsequently, he made his debut in filmmaker Balachandra Menon's Prema Geethangal (1981). Although this was Nazir's final decade in cinema, after having reigned over the industry for 30 years, he was highly active at the time Shanavas made his debut. Despite the emergence of many new talents in Malayalam cinema during this period, Nazir's position remained unshaken in the hearts of film lovers, which indirectly helped Shanavas gain attention. In the subsequent years, Shanavas worked in movies headlined by legends such as his father Prem Nazir, 'Hitmaker' Sasikumar, MG Soman, Sreekumaran Thampi, Ambareesh, Srividya, Sukumaran, Madhu, Silk Smitha, Joshiy and T Damodaran. He also appeared in films such as Koritharicha Naal, Gaanam, Ivan Oru Simham, Rathilayam and Himam. Shanavas was last seen in director Dijo Jose Antony's Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu-starrer Jana Gana Mana (2022). Besides movies, he also worked in several television serials like Shankhumukham, Velutha Kathreena, Kadamatathu Kathanar and Sathyameva Jayathe. Shanavas is survived by his wife Ayesha Abdul Aziz, sons Ajith Khan and Shameer Khan, and daughter-in-law Hana, OnManorama reported. His funeral will be held at the Palayam Muslim Jamaath Cemetery on Tuesday evening.
