24 Experiences Only Millennials Understand

Buzz Feed12 hours ago
As someone who grew up in the Millennial era, I know all about the experiences our generation went through far too well. Reddit user uselessZZwaste recently asked, "What's one thing millennials did back in the day that today's generation would think was wild?!" Here are the hilariously relatable responses that'll instantly bring you back to those days:
"What's your screen name?"
"Get off the internet, I need to make a call."
"T9 texting."
"Checking the movie times in the newspaper."
"Printing out driving directions on MapQuest."
"Prank calls."
"Writing letters to each other and trading them between classes vs. texting."
"Waiting for Netflix to send the movies we wanted by mail."
"Failing to reach the home phone before it stops ringing, and just sitting there wondering who made the call."
"Knocking on someone's door to ask if they wanted to do something."
"Having to get to a movie theater way early if you wanted to see a new movie, and hoping there were seats together."
"Going out to meet friends at a place you pre-decided on at school the previous day. Not knowing if they'll be there when you arrive."
"We paid for texts."
"The internet chatrooms. Oh my lord."
"Burning CDs for friends or having to use a converter to play your CD on a vehicle's cassette player. Going to a physical store to read video game magazines with walkthroughs, guides, and get rumors of cheat codes from the employees and patrons."
"Going to the library to read books and find quotes for essays. Going to multiple libraries to find books that didn't exist in your local library."
"Asking a random girl for her number, or else you may never see her again. No social media, nothing else. And then, upon calling that number (which was a house number), you had to introduce yourself to her parents over the phone because they were most likely to answer."
"Downloading paid ringtones. The first rollout wasn't even the actual song, just a melody created by the phone's chirps and beeps."
"Getting dropped off somewhere with enough money to use the payphone. Once."
"The look on my kids' faces every time I tell them we had to type out the citations/bibliography for a paper or project. They've had citation generators their whole lives."
"The innocence of not always having someone know your location and not always knowing someone else's location."
"Memorizing phone numbers."
"Explaining commercial breaks and TV schedules to my preschooler is always a doozy. Also, VHS tapes make NO sense to him."
"Be kind, rewind."

Man Breaks Up with Girlfriend Due to the 'Shocking' State of Her Apartment

He didn't mention the apartment when they broke up but wonders if he should haveNEED TO KNOW A man shares that he broke up with his girlfriend due to the state of her apartment He said she had week-old food sitting out and trash overflowing People on Reddit agreed that he made the right choice, but insist that he should have told her whyA man turned to the internet to see if he acted too brashly when breaking up with his girlfriend over the state of her apartment. In a post on Reddit, the man explains that he and his "gorgeous" girlfriend had been dating for a few months after meeting through friends. Last weekend, his girlfriend invited him to her place for the first time. The woman mentioned that her apartment was a "mess," but the man laughed it off, thinking she was being "self-deprecating." "I want to start off by saying I know that people have their reasons for stuff like this and I don't want to be disrespectful in any way," he starts. "But the state of her apartment was genuinely shocking when I first went in." "It was a pretty small place, and I'm not just talking about clutter. Literal piles of trash on the floor, a sink full of dishes overflowing onto the counter, stains on the couch and carpet, week-old food on the table, and just piles and piles of stuff everywhere," he adds. "Not to mention the overpowering smell of mold and mildew that I could taste in my mouth." His girlfriend, however, acted like everything "was completely normal," and they watched a movie on the couch before it got too late. While he "tried not to act weird," he admitted that she likely "noticed' something was off."The next day, I called her and told her I didn't think things were gonna be compatible between us, and she got mad at me for leading her on and breaking up with her for no reason. I didn't mention the apartment, but maybe I should have," the man shares. "I feel bad for her, and I'm worried I might have acted too quickly." While people in the comments section agreed he had every right to end things, they said he should have been honest about the reason for the breakup. "But I do think you should've mentioned the apartment. People who don't know what the problem is cannot take any corrective action. Tell her and move on," one person wrote. "Compatibility isn't just about chemistry, it's also about hygiene. If I have to dodge pizza boxes like landmines just to sit down, that's not 'quirky,' that's a health hazard," another added. "You didn't ghost her, you bowed out respectfully. That's not being shallow, that's self-preservation." Read the original article on People Solve the daily Crossword

David Beckham documents his hilarious haircut mishap

David Beckham may be one of the most legendary English football players to ever play the game, but he may need to work on his haircutting skills. Beckham encountered a bit of a hiccup while he trimming his hair, according to a video he posted on his Instagram page Sunday, which resulted in an unfortunately placed bald spot on the top of his head. 'What have you done?' Victoria Beckham, his wife, is heard saying off-camera, to which David Beckham replied, 'it's not funny… the clipper head fell off.' Victoria Beckham, with a laugh, went on to roast her husband, joking about how their kids will have 'hours of content' from this. 'It does not look good,' she said. 'I'm going to always be honest with you. It looks terrible.' In the caption, David Beckham wrote that 'this happened yesterday whilst shaving my head and as you can hear my wife didn't find it funny at all.' Referencing a viral moment stemming from the Netflix documentary 'Beckham,' where the football star interrupts Victoria Beckham's interview telling her to 'be honest,' David Beckham quipped in his caption that when it comes to his hair, she doesn't 'always need to BE THAT HONEST.' Perhaps next time Beckham needs a trim, he'll consider visiting a professional hair stylist. Solve the daily Crossword
