Lori Harvey To Cover Playboy In Mag's First Print Issue In 5 Years

Yahoo27-01-2025

Model and actress Lori Harvey will cover Playboy in the iconic magazine's first print issue since it suspended its operations during the dawn of the pandemic.
The announcement was made via a collaborative post on Instagram between Harvey and the publication. 'PLAYBOY returns to print with Lori Harvey on the cover. Preorder today. On stands 02.10.25. Link in bio,' read the caption of the video teaser, which featured Harvey posing around a vintage vehicle with the license plate 'PLAYBOY.'

Playboy — founded in December 1953 — shuttered its print operations in 2020, after facing recent struggles with founder Hugh Hefner's death in 2017 and the floundering of the print business at large.
'It's no surprise that media consumption habits have been changing for some time – and while the stories we produce and the artwork we showcase is enjoyed by millions of people on digital platforms, our content in its printed form reaches the hands of only a fraction of our fans,' Playboy Enterprises CEO Ben Kohn said at the time of the decision, announcing a 'digital first publishing schedule.'
Kohn announced a return to form in August of last year, saying in a statement that the print edition would be part of a larger rebrand of the Playboy franchises.
'Playboy is the quintessential iconic brand, and it has always been more than a magazine – it is the original creator business that has launched hundreds of careers over the past seventy years,' he said. 'The decision to reintroduce Playboy magazine reflects the Company's commitment to adapting to the evolving media landscape while preserving the brand's rich heritage, including the high-quality journalism, compelling storytelling, and provocative content that has defined Playboy for decades.'
Along with Harvey, the new issue will feature comedian Nikki Glaser — off of a successful Golden Globes hosting stint — and the yet-to-be-revealed Playmate of the Year.
Harvey made her modeling debut in 2017 at Milan Fashion Week's Dolce & Gabbana show. Last year, she marked her acting debut in Peacock's limited series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, which starred Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Hart, Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson and Don Cheadle.

Lauren Sanchez Wipes Social Media After Marrying Jeff Bezos

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Lauren Sanchez Bezos has deleted all her old photographs from Instagram and updated her profile with her new name after marrying billionaire business tycoon and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos on Friday in Venice. Newsweek contacted Sanchez for comment via Instagram direct message and the Amazon press office on Saturday outside of regular office hours. Why It Matters Bezos and Sanchez's wedding was a major society event with guests including the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Tom Brady, Kim Kardashian, Orlando Bloom and Bill Gates. By deleting all her previous photographs on Instagram, the only social media platform she has a public facing account on, Sanchez could be seeking to emphasize what a life-changing experience she expects marrying the world's fourth richest man to be. What To Know Following Friday's Italian wedding, Sanchez updated her Instagram name from "Lauren Sanchez" to "Lauren Sanchez Bezos" and deleted all her old photographs from the platform. On Friday, she posted three photographs on Instagram as an album, the first in color showing her wearing her wedding dress and the other two black and white shots of her being assisted putting the dress on. In the post, which received over 170,000 likes from Instagram users, Sanchez wrote: "Not just a gown, a piece of poetry. Thank you @dolcegabbana for the magic you made." The luxury fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana made Sanchez's wedding gown. Sanchez later added a second picture of herself in her wedding dress alongside Bezos, along with the caption "06/27/2025" and a heart emoji. Friday's wedding took place on San Giorgio Island, with Bezos and Sanchez seen leaving the five-star Aman hotel early on Friday for the exchange of vows. A welcome reception was hosted on Thursday with a guest list of more than 200 including President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner. On Saturday, a wedding reception is scheduled to take place at the Arsenale, formerly the site of armories and shipyards that is located on the eastern side of Venice. The wedding was initially intended to take place in Cannaregio, part of Venice's historic center, but this plan was scrapped after protests were announced by local campaign group "No Space for Bezos." KGC-34/STAR MAX/IPx/AP In an X post on Tuesday, No Space for Bezos wrote: "We won! The protests have managed to ruin Bezos' plans and the little power games of Mayor Brugnaro [Venice's Mayor Luigi Brugnaro]." On Monday, activists from international environmental group Greenpeace and campaign group Everyone Hates Elon unfurled a giant banner in Venice's St. Mark's Square, calling for Bezos to pay higher taxes. The 65x65 inch banner read: "If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax."

Lauren Sanchez Wedding Dress Criticized By Katie Couric

If you didn't exactly love Lauren Sánchez's wedding look (or the wedding itself, for that matter), you're not alone. Katie Couric wasn't a fan either. Lauren married Jeff Bezos last night in Venice, Italy, in a custom wedding gown designed by Dolce & Gabbana. Inspired by Sophia Loren's dress from Houseboat, the lace gown featured long sleeves, a trail of silk chiffon-covered buttons down the front, and a mermaid-style train. It took over 900 hours to make. For her glam, Lauren wore diamond earrings, a tulle and lace veil, and natural makeup, with her hair swept into an updo. You can see the full look here. According to an accompanying interview with Vogue, it was one of Lauren's six planned wedding looks. She also wore a Schiaparelli gold-beaded gown for a pre-wedding dinner, an Oscar de la Renta dress with "600 yards of hand-sewn chain and 175,000 crystals" for the wedding party, and a Versace dress for a post-wedding pajama party. While the cost is unclear, it's believed she and Jeff spent as much as $56 million on the entire ceremony. To Katie, it was very "tacky." The journalist shared her thoughts after writer Jack Schlossberg posted an Instagram photo of Lauren on the cover of Vogue, showing off the dress. "Welcome to the eighties—when big hair and conspicuous consumption ruled," Katie said. "Apparently tacky is back." As you can imagine, people were quick to react. One redditor mused, "Teresa Gudice walked so Lauren Sanchez could run!" While another joked, "Katie Couric, I apologize. I wasn't really familiar with your game." A third person said, "You know I've never been a big Katie Couric fan. I always put her in kind of an Oprah and Hilary Clinton box where they had an overly curated vibe that kind of put me off. But, this is objectively hilarious and good on her for talking about this tacky ass fiasco." Another agreed, "Yeah. Not a fan of that gown," while someone else said, "You have literally no budget, you could literally take your vows in 'space,' and this is what you chose?!" So far, Lauren hasn't responded to the remarks, but she told Vogue she felt "like a princess" in the dress. What are your thoughts on it? Tell me in the comments!
