Mel C channels her Sporty Spice roots in Liverpool kit as she makes surprise appearance during Tom Grennan's BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend set
She became known to millions of Spice Girls fans as Sporty Spice during her time with the pop group.
And Mel C proved she's still got it as she made a surprise performance during Tom Grennan's BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend set on Friday.
Announcing his special guest, Tom, 29, told the crowd: 'Liverpool is her manor, so make sure you make the biggest noise when I say this name.'
Mel, 51, appeared on stage dressed in a full Liverpool FC kit with a shirt marked with a nine on the back.
Meanwhile Tom, who had gone backstage to change, appeared moments later in a full Everton FC kit with a blue top that was marked with a seven.
Together, they stood side by side to create the number 97, which was a tribute to the number of Liverpool fans who lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster.

The pair shared the spotlight as Mel performed her 1998 hit 'When You're Gone,' originally a duet with Bryan Adams.
Earlier in the day, Tom revealed his 'anxiety has taken over' in recent months after undergoing an ankle operation.
The Little Bit of Love singer, 29, is gearing up for 'one of the biggest shows of his life' on Friday night as he closes the opening day of the festival.
But the usually energetic performer is not '100 per cent' for the big night after spending eight weeks recovering from an ankle tendon injury.
In a candid interview with MailOnline, Tom - who has been open about his struggles with mental health throughout his career - spoke about the affect the injury has had on him over the past few months.
'I'm a person like every body who suffers with anxiety and mental health,' the performer said.
'I've got a bad ankle, I've had to have an operation to get a tendon rebuilt so I was in a boot for eight weeks. It's not good, it's a long recovery. I think that's where a lot of my anxiousness over the past few months has come from.
'So we'll see what I can do tonight, I'm going to have to get it strapped up - I'm still not comfortable with it. I think that's where a lot of my anxiousness over the past few months has come from.'
Meanwhile Tom, who had gone backstage to change, appeared moments later in a full Everton FC kit with a blue top that was marked with a seven.
In a heartbreaking interview on Pete Wicks's podcast earlier this month, the singer revealed the crippling anxiety he suffered after being the victim of a random street attack when he was just 17.
The attack - which saw Tom get 'held by three guys and pounded in the face' - left the Bedford-born vocalist scared to leave his home.
Throughout his career however, Tom has had some 'great friends' in the music industry who have helped him get through his struggles.
'My good friend Roman Kemp is a person I can speak to - he's been a big advocate for mental health so we speak a lot,' he told MailOnline.
'Harley from Rizzle Kicks, he's a really good friend and someone I can speak openly to. My manager as well - there's more but I think definitely those three I can fully trust.
'A lot has happened in my life over the last few months where anxiety has taken over but it's important to have that too - it means I care.
'When I hit the stage, it's a different energy. It's like football, when you're in the game everything melts away. It's the same on stage, nothing else matters when I'm up there.'
Tom too revealed that he's been working on a new album - which he says will not have any features.
'No one wanted to work with me,' he joked.
The new album is set delve into Tom's 'struggles with different aspects of my life, whether it's alcohol or drugs. I've opened up about my life, from being a kid to now, family and relationships.'

Barbie star Margot Robbie reveals surprising activity she loves to do when she's in London
BARBIE actress Margot Robbie says she loves traipsing round London looking for ghouls. The Aussie, 34, revealed she gets spooked at The London Dungeon — but is too old for her former nightclub haunts. 1 She told a crowd at Glastonbury: 'Do you know what I do when my family comes down? The London Dungeons Tour. 'Has anyone else done that? Isn't it so good? It's so fun. I just love it — I have probably done it like four times.' Margot added: 'Then there is also a Ghosts, Galleries and Ghouls walking tour, which I highly recommend. 'It is so amazing — you'll be somewhere you walk around all the time and they will be like, 'There are 3,000-year-old skeletons under your feet right now.'' Margot, who was at Glastonbury with husband Tom Ackerley, revealed she no longer goes to her favourite London club Infernos in Clapham, where she used to live. She said at the Pilton Palais cinema: 'I'm 34 and I don't think they'd let me in. "They would be like, 'No go away old lady'. "Our roommate has a 99-year ban.'

I tested quirky snacks from hot honey Jaffa Cakes to spicy cookie dough bites – some could easily become regular buys
MARKS & Spencer has aced it by serving up a Wimbledon-inspired sweet sandwich – with shoppers queuing up to try it. Launched last week, the £2.80 Red Diamond Strawberry & Creme sarnie, made with strawberries, whipped cream cheese and sweetened bread, has been flying out of stores. 7 But that is not the only unexpected food offering this summer. If you thought a dessert sarnie – inspired by the viral Japanese fruit sando – was quirky, Charlotte Owen reveals other strange-flavoured snacks you might like to try. Subway Grand Slam £1.55 7 BE quick, this is available tomorrow only – to celebrate the start of the Wimbeldon tennis. The sandwich chain has piggy-backed the strawberries-and-cream trend after M&S's success. It describes its take as a 'delicious rally between sweet and savoury'. But the carb-heavy sub version of the viral sarnie may only catch the eye of people who were not able to get one of the Marks & Spencer version. While it offers a healthy dose of cream and strawberries, the amount of bread in a bite looks to be about double that of what you get inside. Subway hopes to serve a winner by giving away 500 of the overwhelming sandwiches for free at Wimbledon tomorrow. Or grab yours at other select branches of the chain. Greggs taste test Greggs Lemon Meringue Muffin 114g, £1.55 7 A LIGHT, sweet treat that does everything you would expect it to do. It is a cheap delight for those wanting to pick up a summery snack. With a bit of jam in the middle to give it a kick, the fresh lemon meringue icing on the top is a proper taste of summer and the lemon sherbet shards pack a punch. Greggs is known for its easy food on the go, and this is no exception. It's a quick stomach-filler for those out and about in the heat. Doughlicious Extra Flamin' Hot Cookie Dough & Gelato Bites 192g, £5 IF there is one thing you don't expect from gelato, it's a burst of heat – but that's what you get with these snacks. The birdseye chilli-infused cookie-dough coating works in tandem with the ghost chilli- infused gelato to create a fire-and-ice effect. It's an interesting idea but not everyone will like the extra kick that comes with the added spice. Gü Mango Chilli Cheesecake 2 x 96g, £3.75 HERE'S a combination that works just perfectly. The mango-chilli compote and mascarpone cheesecake make for an indulgent and tropical flavour profile with just a hint of heat. As if that is not decadent enough, the dessert also features layers of chocolate ganache, salted caramel and a sprinkle of crunchy chocolate pieces for an irresistible touch of texture and a base of cocoa biscuit. You can enjoy this five-layer treat cold or whack it in the microwave and experience its molten- chocolate centre. What's not to love? Pizza Express Hawaiian Hot Dough Balls £7.95 THIS take on a Pizza Express classic reignites the perennial debate about pineapples on pizza. The dough balls are served with crispy pancetta and pieces of the fruit, with a 'fiery' pineapple-and- Habanero sauce. If you like your Italian feast a bit sweet, this could well be just the thing for you. If you're on the other side of the debate, the bizarre flavour combination won't do anything to change your mind. The supposedly fiery sauce you get is not even hot enough to bring a kick to this unusual dish. 7 THE makers of the treat we all know and love have taken the biscuit and added a bit of spice. While orange and chocolate are already a great combination, the addition of hot honey is sure to delight those with an even sweeter tooth. These could easily become a regular buy on supermarket shopping trips.

World No.38 Emma set tongues wagging when she was seen cheering on Wimbledon favourite Carlos, 22, at Queen's Club earlier this month. She tried to play down rumours of a blossoming relationship at a press conference yesterday, grinning as she insisted that she and Spaniard Carlos are 'just good friends'. The pair will team up at the Billie Jean King Tennis Centre in August as they both look to add a doubles success to their US Open singles titles. SunSport exclusively revealed earlier this week that the duo's relationship goes further than the court, but Raducanu insists there's no romance. When asked about it in her pre-Wimbledon press conference, the British star said while giggling: "We're just good friends". Raducanu is , who is hot off the heels of winning the French Open earlier this month. Recalling when Alcaraz asked her to join forces, Raducanu said: "I mean, of course, I had to ask my team if they wanted me to play. "But for me, when he asked me, I was going to say yes, I just had to kind of go through the formality of asking my coach, so I didn't just make the decision." On how they became friends, Raducanu added: "I've known him for years. "And actually in Wimbledon 2021 it was like kind of the first time I started getting to know him, and I had a good run there and then also again in the US Open in 2021." Brit No.2 Katie Boulter, 28, said yesterday she feels 'safe' at Wimbledon after revealing she and her family have had death threats.
