ICT Zone Asia aims to raise RM26.6 million from IPO in transfer to ACE Market

The Sun13-05-2025
KUALA LUMPUR: Technology financing solution company ICT Zone Asia Bhd aims to raise RM26.6 million through its initial public offering (IPO) in conjunction with its transfer from the LEAP Market to the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia.
The transfer is scheduled for June 3, and will involve a public issue of 133 million new shares, priced at 20 sen each.
Group managing director and chief executive officer Tommy Lim Kok Kwang said the ACE Market listing will provide the company with the opportunity to grow its business organically by gaining access to funding from Malaysia's capital market.
It will also enhance its capacity to meet the growing demands of stakeholders, supported by greater visibility in the broader market.
'Of the total RM26.6 million proceeds, RM21 million (or nearly 80%) will be allocated towards expanding our technology financing business. Another RM1.5 million will be used for sales and marketing efforts, while the remaining funds will cover listing-related expenses for the ACE Market transfer,' he said during the prospectus launch today.
The company also aims to strengthen its position and focus on achieving a target of RM500 million in unbilled orders within three years.
ICT Zone Asia has reported strong financial performance, with a record revenue of RM127.8 million and a profit after tax of RM9.1 million.
'The company's contractual business model, coupled with its revenue visibility and operational efficiency, provides investors with stable recurring cash flows and long-term earnings predictability.
'These attributes are especially valuable in today's market, where risk-adjusted fundamentals and consistent execution are essential,' the company stated.
The IPO is now open for applications and will close on May 20.
Malacca Securities Sdn Bhd is the principal adviser, sponsor, joint underwriter, and joint placement agent for the IPO. SCS Global Advisory (M) Sdn Bhd is the financial adviser, while Kenangan Investment Bank Bhd is a joint underwriter and joint placement agent. – Bernama

No plans to review tax relief amount, says Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR: There is no plan to review the tax relief amount for individuals, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. However, the Prime Minister said that the government would continuously improve income tax relief for individual taxpayers through targeted approaches and special reliefs. "Through Budgets 2023, 2024 and 2025, a targeted approach has been implemented by increasing the tax relief amounts for medical treatment expenses, childcare allowances, persons with disabilities, education and medical insurance. "Besides increasing the amount, the government, through Budget 2025, has also expanded the scope of existing tax relief such as extending care and treatment for parents to include grandparents and broadening the scope of health screenings to include the purchase of self-examination health equipment and fees for disease detection tests," said Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, in a written parliamentary reply on Thursday (July 24). Earlier, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (BN-Ayer Hitam) had asked the ministry if it would review the tax relief for individuals and life insurance premium payments that have remained the same at RM9,000 and RM3,000, respectively, for the past 15 years. Dr Wee said that the amount did not reflect the effects of inflation and the current cost of living. Anwar said that the government had also introduced special reliefs for specific purposes in Budget 2025. This includes relief on interest payments for housing loans for the purchase of a first residential home. "Through this relief, the purchase of a home priced up to RM500,000 qualifies for a tax relief of up to RM7,000, while a tax relief of up to RM5,000 can be claimed for the purchase of a residential home priced between RM500,000 and RM750,000," he added. He added that to improve tax reliefs, the government has also reviewed and restructured the individual resident income tax rates starting from the assessment year 2023, reducing the tax rate by two percentage points for the taxable income range between RM35,001 and RM100,000. "This tax rate reduction can provide an additional disposable income of up to RM1,300 per year for approximately 2.4 million taxpayers, including the middle-income group. "In addition, the government is committed to improving tax administration and services to enhance efficiency and service levels for taxpayers," he said. Anwar also said any future review or revision to income tax rates or individual tax relief amounts needs to be conducted carefully to avoid jeopardising the country's fiscal position. He added that any changes in tax policy must also align with international taxation practices and not adversely affect the country's global commitments.

Infomina's FY25 earnings fall nearly 36pct, revenue drops nearly 13pct

KUALA LUMPUR: Infomina Bhd posted a weaker earnings in the financial year ended May 31 2025 (FY25). This was primarily due to lower revenue contribution from its design and delivery of technology infrastructure solutions segment, as well as a RM10 million provision for doubtful debts, Infomina said. The company's net profit for the financial year ended May 31, 2025 fell 36 per cent to RM21 million from RM33 million a year ago. Revenue of the technology solutions provider dropped 12.6 per cent to RM196.7 million from RM225 million previously. For the fourth quarter, Infomina reported RM53.4 million revenue and a net loss of RM3.1 million. Its chief executive officer cum managing director Yee Chee Meng said the headline profitability in FY25 was affected by a non-cash provision and foreign exchange losses. Yee said the company recorded improved margins, with revenue just under RM200 million and normalised pre-tax profit of RM40.4 million. Infomina paid its maiden dividend of 1.2 sen per share, reflecting its strong operating cash flow and sound fundamentals. "We are encouraged by the positive progress in Japan, where our local team continues to gain traction with key clients. "We believe Japan has the potential to become Infomina's largest overseas market in the coming years," he said in a statement. Yee added that contracts across Hong Kong, Thailand and Taiwan continue to support its recurring income base and enhance earnings visibility. Beyond core mainframe software business, he said the company is making steady progress in developing artificial intelligence capabilities through Infomina AI Sdn Bhd. The company secured two collaborations recently, which represent important pillars for expansion into fintech, proptech and data services. He said the traction seen in both API and AI-driven solutions reinforces its confidence in the long-term scalability of this segment.
