Liam Gallagher gives new Oasis interview and discusses loves of his life
Liam Gallagher has given a mini interview ahead of the Oasis comeback tour - explaining what he thinks makes a great frontman.
The Oasis singer was modelling a new Burberry jacket when he answered a series of questions for the designer brand just days before he will take to the stage with brother Noel Gallagher in Cardiff. The pair and the rest of Oasis have already been rehearsing in the Principality stadium in the Welsh capital.
Asked what makes a great frontman, Liam said: 'I mean being able to sing is good. Just getting on with your job and doing it, and trying to get a vibe going and looking cool.'
He has previously credit Ian Brown as an influence on him as a youngster and asked for the music money that changed his life he explained: 'When I went to see the Stone Roses in 1989 in Manchester, and that was it, I thought 'I'm having a bit of that'.'
Liam was also asked about the things he couldn't live without, and some of these things he will undoubtedly miss whilst on tour, especially his pet. He said: Football, my family, my missus, my kids, my dog. In no particular order by the way. My dog's called Buttons.'
Manchester City fan Liam also found time to praised Burberry for their 'good jackets' and recalled wearing one on stage when Oasis played Maine Road, the former home of Man City. He has not committed to wearing a coat in Cardiff this week but he added: 'I like the jackets. I first one I wore was, it was in Maine Road actually, a blue check one like a Harrington, still got it.'
Oasis have arrived in Cardiff ahead of the the start of their sensational reunion tour - which will finally see Noel and Liam Gallagher on stage.
The band could be heard on Monday having rehearsals inside the Principality stadium. The countdown is now on for the first show of the world tour on Friday, with the band having got back together several months ago to begin jamming.
The first photos of the band leaving rehearsals in London were published in May. They showed Noel Gallagher, Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, Gem Archer and Andy Bell who will play guitars in the massive sold out gigs, with Andy on bass.
Liam, who was initially on vocal rest, then joined on June 3. The band also has new members in keyboard player Christian Madden and drummer Joey Waronker on drums. He has played with Liam before on a tour but never in Oasis.
Noel and Liam w ill walk on stage for the first time together in public, since the band split nearly two decades ago, on July 4. There will also be dates in Manchester, London and Dublin as part of the tour.
Noel, 57, quit the Manchester rock group on August 28 2009, saying he "simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer", and the brothers had made negative comments about each other for more than a decade.
That all changed with the announcement of the tour in August last year. The pair posed for several photos together confirming the band's long-awaited reunion on Tuesday, saying: "The great wait is over."
In April, Live Forever by Oasis was crowned the best British song of all time in a new poll ahead of the band's highly-anticipated reunion tour this summer.
The Manchester band led by Noel and Liam Gallagher had an incredible 16 tracks in the top 100 results by Radio X. As well as Live Forever, 'Don't Look Back In Anger,' 'Slide Away' and 'Champagne Supernova' also made the top 10. It was Radio X's 10 th annual Best Of British with B&Q poll.
The new live shows will also feature special guests Richard Ashcroft and Cast, who are friends with the band.

Giant Oasis tribute artwork to be unveiled in Cardiff
The 13-foot-tall portrait made entirely of bucket hats will be unveiled at St David's Cardiff on June 28, celebrating the opening of Oasis' '25 Reunion Tour in the city on July 4. Created by Welsh artist Nathan Wyburn, the monochrome artwork features Liam and Noel Gallagher in their mid-90s prime and has been dubbed 'The Wonder Wall.' Helen Morgan, centre director at St David's Cardiff, said: "We're excited to be a part of the city where the Oasis '25 Reunion Tour officially begins. "If kickstarting the tour in Cardiff isn't a seal of approval, we don't know what is. "To show our appreciation, we're unveiling The Wonder Wall with what we hope will be an iconic bucket-hat portrait of Noel and Liam. "Some might say it's just a load of bucket hats, but we think it's definitely, maybe, the best use of buckets hats ever." The portrait took four days to construct and spans nearly 20 feet wide. It will be displayed on the upper level of St David's Eastside dining quarter, which will be temporarily renamed 'The Wonder Wall' in honour of the tribute. The unveiling event will include a play-to-win 'Supersonic Spinner,' Gallagher-themed giveaways, and a Britpop soundtrack to get fans in the mood ahead of the tour's opening weekend. The Wonder Wall will remain on display until after the Oasis gigs, during regular centre opening hours. The Oasis '25 Reunion Tour marks the band's first time performing together in more than a decade, and the Cardiff show is expected to draw fans from across the UK and beyond. Oasis rose to fame in the 1990s with hits like Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger and Champagne Supernova, becoming one of the defining bands of the Britpop era. Ms Morgan said the tribute is a fitting way to celebrate the band's legacy and their connection to the city. She said: "We wanted to do something special that fans would remember. "We hope The Wonder Wall will become a must-see for visitors and a great way to kick off the summer."

The Gêm Project helps young people access gaming industry
The Gêm Project, led by Media Academy Cymru (MAC), aims to improve grassroots access to professional roles in the gaming and animation sectors. Of the 30 students who completed the pilot, 80 per cent went on to further education courses in South Wales, four are now studying gaming-related subjects at university, and one is working as a game tester for a leading Welsh developer. Jack Sargeant, culture minister, said: "The importance of the creative industries to Wales is clear – it's about jobs, culture and our identity. "Meeting the animation students at MAC was inspiring – these young people are incredibly talented and passionate about their craft. "Programmes like the Animeiddio Project are exactly what we need to ensure our creative sector reflects all of Wales, providing pathways for diverse talent to thrive." The Gêm Project received more than £140,000 from the Welsh Government through the Creative Wales Skills Fund. Following its success, MAC launched the Animeiddio Project, an animation pilot scheme funded by a second round of Creative Skills funding. The animation course gives young people the chance to showcase their work at the Cardiff Animation Festival and take part in regular industry events. AJ, 20, a current student, said: "I had agoraphobia for a long time so I couldn't leave the house. "This is my first year back and everybody is so understanding. "It's the best thing that could possibly have happened." The Creative Skills Fund supports training and development across music, screen, games, animation, and immersive tech. Across two funding rounds, 34 projects have been backed with a total investment of £3 million. A highlight report from the first funding round shows that more than 27,000 individuals and 300 companies have benefited so far.
