On July 8, 2025, professional boxer Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez gave a big update. Speaking to TMZ Sports, he said that if
Jake Paul
wants to fight him for the cruiserweight world title, he's open to the idea.
But he warned that Jake Paul has no chance of beating him. The comment was made just days after Paul defeated a former champion, which sparked talks of a title fight.
Fans are now excited, but Gilberto Ramirez isn't worried. He made one thing clear, he's not afraid to defend his title.
What Gilberto Ramirez said about Jake Paul possibly fighting for his title
Gilberto Ramirez, who is the WBA cruiserweight champion, said on Tuesday, July 8, that he's okay if Jake Paul wants to step in the ring. Ramirez said,
'If the money's right, let's do it.
Easy fight, easy money.'
He spoke from Toronto, where he is presently training. With thirty knockouts, Gilberto Ramirez has only one loss and forty-eight victories in professional boxing.
He has years of ring experience. Starting boxing only a few years ago, Jake Paul just defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in Anaheim, California, on June 28. Jake Paul's victory improved his rating and qualified him for a title shot, placing him among the top 15 WBA candidates.

Jake Paul wants the title but it won't be easy
Jake Paul, age 28, is chasing big names in boxing. After beating Chavez Jr., he quickly challenged Gilberto Ramirez. He said,
'Zurdo looked slow. I'll knock him out easy.'
His win was clear, he won 10 out of 12 rounds by unanimous decision. That gave him the confidence to go after a world title.
But Gilberto Ramirez doesn't think Jake Paul has the skills.
'He talks a lot,'
Ramirez said,
'but I'm not Chavez Jr. I'm a real champion.'
Though negotiations are still online, the two have not yet agreed on any battle contract. Should this battle come to pass, it might be among the most-watched events of the year.

NHL trade watch: Erik Karlsson deal now more realistic after paid bonus, says Elliotte Friedman

NHL- Erik Karlsson (Image Via Getty) Just when you thought the Erik Karlsson trade talk had cooled off, Elliotte Friedman dropped a quiet bomb on the latest 32 Thoughts podcast: the bonus on Karlsson's contract has already been paid, and that changes everything. What this actually means for NHL teams Karlsson is still carrying a $10 million+ cap hit, which has made moving him tricky for the Penguins. But with his bonus money already paid, the actual dollars owed over the rest of his deal are now way lower than the sticker shock suggests. 'The bonus is paid, the actual cash is really down… we'll see,' Friedman said, keeping things vague but clearly signaling that a Karlsson trade is back on the radar. So, for teams who are tight on cash but still want a top-tier defenseman? This is suddenly a very different conversation. 'We'll see': It's not a done deal but the math looks better now Even with the reduced cash, any team trading for Karlsson will need to: Handle that massive cap hit Possibly negotiate some salary retention Make the roster math work long-term That's why Friedman didn't say a deal is imminent but the financial piece of the puzzle might be the biggest hurdle that's now cleared. Will Karlsson move again? After one full season in Pittsburgh, it's still unclear whether Karlsson fits the Pens' longer-term plans or if they're ready to reset and move that contract elsewhere. For a playoff-ready team looking to add serious blue-line firepower, Karlsson could be a game-changer. And now that the money's not quite so scary, the phones might start ringing again. Elliotte Friedman's update just quietly reignited the Erik Karlsson trade market. With the bonus money paid and the real cost lowered, NHL teams are suddenly looking at Karlsson through a very different lens. The cap hit is still huge. But the cash isn't. That makes this story one to watch closely in the coming weeks. Patrick Mahomes body shamed ahead of NFL 2025 season trainer Bobby Stroupe fires back with brutal response (Image Via Getty) A new controversy has popped up around NFL star Patrick Mahomes just days after he returned to training for the 2025 season. A Kansas City radio host made surprising comments about the quarterback's body after shirtless photos of Patrick Mahomes surfaced online. The comments quickly spread on social media and sparked debate. While fans mostly laughed it off, someone very close to Patrick Mahomes didn't take it lightly. The person who trains him every day stepped in to defend the star quarterback, and what he said caught everyone's attention. What bdid Patrick Mahomes's trainer Bobby Stroupe responds on X after viral body comments On Monday, July 8, 2025, Kansas City-based radio host Kevin Keitzman commented on Patrick Mahomes's body after seeing his shirtless photos online. During his segment, he said Patrick Mahomes looked 'fat' and focused on a small love handle seen in the photo. The segment from his radio show went viral immediately, with many saying the comments were ridiculous. Patrick Mahomes is an athlete 28 years old, and he's led the Kansas City Chiefs to three Super Bowl titles, so he can be considered one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. Most fans shrugged off the statement, saying that Patrick Mahomes proves himself when he plays the game not when people see him. But Patrick Mahomes's personal trainer, Bobby Stroupe, didn't stay silent. He posted on X (formerly Twitter), writing: 'Send me your location. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Is it legal?
