I'm trolled for having Christmas done in July with the food shop & gifts wrapped – but us single mums must be organised
Plus, scroll down for more on why supermarkets start selling Christmas stock so early FEELING FESTIVE I'm trolled for having Christmas done in July with the food shop & gifts wrapped – but us single mums must be organised Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) DESPITE December 25th being five months away, a single mother has revealed that she has already bought and wrapped her children's gifts. Not only this, but Char Chandler has also done her food shopping and stocked up on drinks and snacks for the festive season. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 A single mother has revealed that Christmas may be five months away, but that hasn't stopped her getting prepared Credit: / TikTok 2 Char Chandler has not only bought and wrapped gifts, but she's even done her food shopping too Credit: / TikTok But this mum-of-three, who 'loves Christmas' and can't get enough of shopping, has been trolled for being so prepared. Posting on social media, the brunette beauty proudly showed off her epic 'Christmas cupboard,' which despite it being only July, is already full with wrapped gifts and sweet treats. The short clip left many totally stunned, so much so that shortly after, Char uploaded a follow-up video in response to a rude remark from a troll. The comment read: 'F**k. Right. Off. It's. Only. F*****g. July' and to this, Char clapped back and said: 'I really don't get it, why can't you just be happy for someone, show it love, or scroll past? 'I'm happy, I'm organised and I don't have that Christmas rush and the hassle.' Char then urged people to 'be nice' and confirmed that "you never know what people are going through.' Not only has she purchased a variety of gifts for her little darlings, but she's also stocked up on Pringles, Mini Cheddars, Twiglets, nuts, tins of biscuits and a variety of crackers. As well as this, she's also purchased three bottles of fizzy drinks and dessert sauces, as well as popcorn, pretzels and marshmallows. Char later confirmed: 'My kids are 14, 13 and 6 - my eldest two know [the gifts] are there. It's just the youngest we hide them from and he doesn't know the cupboard exists.' Not only this, but Char confirmed that she likes to be organised and 'spread the cost.' I feel like a failure for only getting my 9-year-old cheap bits off TikTok for Christmas, but trolls slam my 'sob story' As well as having Christmas gifts to buy, she also has the cost of the summer holidays, her eldest son's birthday and two holidays coming up. So when asked 'why so early?', Char set the record straight and explained: 'Because I am a single parent and I want the best for my children so I spread the cost to make it the best I can.' I will stock up more as the months go on Char Chandler The bargain hunter later revealed that she got her wrapping paper from Amazon and acknowledged that she wraps each of her children's presents in different wrapping paper, rather than using gift tags. And for those wondering if Char's food shopping would go out of date before the special day, the savvy mum clarified that she checked the dates on her items and apart from a bottle of Coca-Cola, which goes out of date on 31st December 2025, everything else expires 2026 and onwards. Despite having a hefty stash already, the content creator later shared: 'I will stock up more as the months go on.' Why do shops start selling Christmas stock so early? Charlotte Harrington, the manager at Summerhill's garden centre in Basildon, Essex, explained: 'For many, many years now, we've opened our Christmas department on the August bank holiday. "The stock comes in early and we gradually start putting it out on the shop floor. This is just a small fraction of what we have. 'But our Christmas displays are so spectacular it takes time to get everything set up, so we have to start early. 'It may seem a little odd putting them out now — especially with the hot weather. 'But we have to plan so far in advance.' Social media users react The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 239,900 views. Not only this, but it's also amassed 10,800 likes, 2,298 comments and 900 shares. But social media users were left totally divided by Char's organisation - whilst some thought it was 'a great idea', others weren't as complimentary. One person said: 'Fail to prepare, prepare to fail! This is organisation at its finest.' By the time Christmas comes, they might not like it. That'll be my worry TikTok user Another added: 'That's why there's so many kids go without because parents don't do this! Why not buy all year so you know your children have the best Christmas!!' A third commented: 'That's actually a great idea. Don't have to spend a mint all at once and save money by getting stuff each week.' Meanwhile, someone else beamed: 'You are an amazing mum and very organised. I hope you have a magical Christmas 2025.' But at the same time, one user questioned: 'How do you know what to get them? By the time Christmas comes, they might not like it. That'll be my worry.' And another wrote: 'I would just forget what I had brought.' Justin Timberlake slammed for doing 'bare minimum' at his concerts
Justin Timberlake has left some fans demanding a 'refund' after he appeared to have stopped signing at his live shows. The American singer rose to fame as part of The All New Mickey Mouse Club in the 1990s, going on to join the hugely successful boyband NSYNC, who sold over 70 million units worldwide. After the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2002, Justin pursued a solo career, releasing the chart-topping albums Justified and FutureSex/LoveSounds, which included hits like Cry Me a River, Rock Your Body and SexyBack. He was dubbed the 'Prince of Pop', has 10 Grammy Awards, and is now one of the best-selling musicians of all time. Last year Justin, 44, embarked on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, his first in five years. Although it officially ended in February this year, it was quickly followed by an extension that has included festivals and one-off concerts titled 'JT Live 2025'. But just a few days before his last scheduled show in Istanbul, Turkey, on July 30, Justin has drawn the ire of some concertgoers. Last week Justin played at the Electric Castle festival in Romania, but soon after he was called out for signing very little of his track Can't Stop the Feeling live. In the clip, posted on TikTok, he was seen putting the hood of his jacket on as rain started pouring down as he sung the first few lines of the song. He then made hand gestures and walked across the stage to amp them up but only went on to sing a few parts of the song and heavily relied on the crowd to pick up the slack. Just before the clip ended, he was then seen walking towards his band and telling the audience to 'sing, c',mon'. 'When you pay for a concert but get a mute singer. Due took a day off on stage…,' the fan captioned their post. Many people weighed in, including others who were there and joked about the singer 'making them do all the work'. 'When you pay for a concert but get a mute singer,' one quipped. 'This is not even bare minimum,' someone else commented. 'I want a refund, and I didn't even go,' another added. 'That ticket would be a credit card dispute SO FAST,' one person also wrote. Soon after many other people started sharing videos taken at other concerts in which Justin barely sang the song too. More Trending Addressing the singer, one frustrated fan wrote on TikTok: 'Dude they're not paying to have a karaoke session with you.' Justin is next scheduled to perform in Georgia tonight, followed by shows in Azerbaijan and Turkey later this week. Away from the studio and stage, Justin has also appeared in a string of movies too, including Love Guru, The Social Network, Bad Teacher, Friends with Benefits and Palmer. I took a risk & ordered extensions on Shein for half the price… my hair is healthier than ever & they lasted NINE months
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A BEAUTY fan has revealed that she took a risk and ordered hair extensions from Shein. Much to her surprise, Kim Fegan Hutchinson was left overjoyed when her Shein purchases arrived and now, nine months later, she is still beaming. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 A bargain hunter took a risk and ordered cheap hair extensions from Shein Credit: TikTok/kimfeganhutchinso 2 But nine months later, Kim Fegan Hutchinson is overjoyed with her cheap finds and claimed that her hair is now healthier than ever as a result Credit: TikTok/kimfeganhutchinso Not only did Kim nab her hair extensions on the cheap, but she claimed that her locks are healthier than ever now too. Eager to share her honest thoughts on the affordable extensions, Kim, who works in Tesco, took to social media to give her followers a close-up look at her luscious locks, leaving many totally stunned. In the short clip, Kim sat in her car and ran her fingers through her hair, as she penned: 'Update on the Shein tape extensions just because I'm getting new hair put in next week. 'The hair is nine months old and I could easily get 12 months plus from them.' Not only have the extensions, which cost her £80 in total, lasted for months, but even better, they haven't caused any damage to her real hair. She continued: 'My own hair is healthier than ever. 'The best £80 I've ever spent on Shein.' Kim later confirmed that she used three packs of the 9AM hair extensions, in the shade S4. Not only are they great quality, but they're much cheaper than many of the other alternatives on the market. Prices of hair extensions vary largely on the amount and length you decide to have, but Kim's are half the price of average human hair tape extensions, which typically cost around £125 to £150. Ugly side of fashion giant Shein revealed as retailer slammed by rivals for 'unfair tactics' to keep prices low Prior to buying her hair extensions from Shein, Kim splashed the cash on a really posh pair, which on reflection, don't compare to these, as the beauty fan beamed: 'They are way better than my previous ones that I paid £300+ for.' Beauty fans beam The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @kimfeganhutchinso, has clearly left many stunned, as in just five days, it has quickly racked up 480,700 views. Not only this, but it's also amassed 16,100 likes, 228 comments and 3,045 saves. With these I have very little hair is so much healthier Kim Fegan Hutchinson Social media users were gobsmacked by the purse-friendly hair extensions and eagerly raced to the comments to express this. One person said: 'They look amazing.' Another added: 'Ah making me excited, just ordered some.' A third commented: 'Look great! Can you curl as you normally would with professional extensions?' To this, Kim replied and confirmed: 'Yes they curl and straighten lovely.' What is Shein and is it legit? Shein is an online-only fast-fashion retailer, based out of China, that has become a number one shopping destination for many around the world. The company was valued at $66billion in 2023, dwarfing that of popular high street brands Zara and H&M. The fashion retailer was founded in late 2008, by entrepreneur and marketing specialist Xu Yangtian, also known as Chris Xu. Shein is a legitimate selling website and is not a phishing scam. But you may receive a disappointing order or run into shipping issues if you order from the site, according to reviews. There have been swathes of quality complaints, which makes sense when looking at the price tag. At the same time, someone else asked: 'Does it damage your hair? I'm thinking of doing extensions but just worried it'll thin it.' In response, Kim explained: 'With these I have very little shedding and because I'm not washing, drying, applying heat etc as often as I would have done without them in, my hair is so much healthier.' And it's not just Kim who is a huge fan of these Shein hair extensions - as many other beauty enthusiasts also shared their rave reviews. One user penned: 'I am wearing 9AM S4 and I get soooo many compliments. Best hair ever.' A second agreed: 'I swear by 9AM. I've tried different types in the same price bracket on Shein and I'll always go back to them and the colour match is brilliant.' Whilst another claimed: 'Been using the 9AM red hair extensions since July last year!!' Unlock even more award-winning articles as The Sun launches brand new membership programme - Sun Club
