Seamus Coleman and Sammie Szmodics withdraw from Ireland double-header
The pair have withdrawn from the squad through injury, the FAI have confirmed, with Andrew Moran coming into the squad.
The Boys in Green take on Senegal on Friday, June 6 in Dublin and have a trip to Luxembourg for a game the following Tuesday, June 10.
Coleman lasted just 18 minutes of Everton men's final home game at Goodison Park, a win over Southampton. The Donegal native was making just his second appearance since St Stephen's Day but was forced off prematurely.
Szmodics featured in Ipswich Town's final top-flight game of the term, after a long injury layoff, but he's evidently not won his fitness fight.

Seamus Coleman issues David Moyes warning ahead of new Premier League season
Everton and Ireland star Seamus Coleman has issued a warning to anyone who thinks returning manager David Moyes has mellowed since his first spell in charge of the Premier League side. Moyes first took charge of the Toffees in 2002 and remained in charge for 11 years, until he replaced Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. He lasted last than a season at Old Trafford, but went on to manage Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham, and he led the Hammers to Europa Conference League glory in 2023. He made his Everton comeback last January, with the club just one point above the relegation zone, and he immediately turned around their fortunes, as they ended the season 23 points clear of the drop zone. Coleman, who this summer signed a new one-year deal at Everton, cannot wait to get stuck in once again under Moyes, the man who signed him from Sligo Rovers in January 2009. However, he says his knowledge of the returning manager has been overplayed at times. 'The first time he was here I was only a young lad. I think people think I know him more than I actually do,' said the Donegal native. 'I was a young lad, I was petrified of him. He still cares deeply about Everton Football Club, and he cares about his profession as well, I think he is a bit of a perfectionist. 'He wants us to be as good as we possibly can be. It's great to have him back.' There is one thing he does know, however, and that's not to test the theory of whether Moyes has chilled since his previous spell in charge. 'Some people say maybe he's mellowed a little bit," Coleman said, "but I wouldn't like to test that just yet." Get the latest sports headlines straight to your inbox by signing up for free email .

Seamus Coleman's three options when he retires as he rules out one area of work
Seamus Coleman says he has three options when he finally hangs up his boots - but there is one job that he has no intention of doing. Coleman, who turns 37 in October, still has plenty of miles in his legs, having missed most of the past two seasons through injury. He recently signed a new one-year contract with Everton, and is closing in on 17 years with the Premier League side, as they prepare for a new post-Goodison Park era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. But thoughts are already turning to when he finally hangs up his boots for club and country. Coleman says he will consider three different paths, but has ruled out one. 'TV work, I don't think that would be for me,' he told the Everton website. 'I would never say never, I might… if opportunities arise. But not TV work. 'Management, coaching, or disappear back to Ireland. It's been those. I'm either going to be a coach, a manager, or go back to Ireland and you'll never hear from me again. I'm not sure.' Before he has to make that decision, however, Coleman has plenty to do both at club and international level. Heimir Hallgrímsson will be eager to include the experienced campaigner in his plans for the World Cup qualifiers, which kick off in September. And Everton boss David Moyes will rely on his experience on the pitch, at the training ground and behind the scenes at the Merseyside outfit. Then there is the prospect of working with another international pal at club level, with goalkeeper Mark Travers set for his first campaign with the Toffees. 'First and foremost he's a great lad, very respectful, very good around the place,' said Coleman about the Kildareman. 'But a really good goalkeeper as well. I had him with Ireland and he pulls off some amazing saves. I think he'll be good to add to the goalkeeping unit. 'I know we are blessed with Jordan, he has been incredible for us over the last couple of years, and Mark will be here to support him and push him along the way. He'll be very well accepted here.'
