Bloomberg2 days ago
An Ethereum treasury firm has agreed to go public in a blank-check company merger backed by more than $1.5 billion of crypto and stock financing, joining the rush of digital assets heading to public markets.
Ether Machine Inc., the expected surviving company of the merger, will be anchored by 169,984 Ether from one of the co-founders, and a stock financing of more than $800 million, according to a statement Monday. As much as $170 million of cash in the trust account of Dynamix Corp., the special purpose acquisition company merging with the pool would also be included.

I'm worried about the underwhelming Pixel 10 leaks. Do you feel the same?

Google 🗣️ This is an open thread. We want to hear from you! Share your thoughts in the comments and vote in the poll below — your take might be featured in a future roundup. The Google Pixel series launch is usually a marquee event on the Android device calendar. Usually innovative in unexpected ways, the Pixel devices of previous years have pushed divergent designs, impressive camera performance, and an onslaught of AI features. But, with the Pixel 10 launch just a few weeks away and the leak cycle now in full rotation, I'm feeling decidedly underwhelmed by what I've seen so far. Sure, the new colorways are interesting, even if the base Pixel 10 shades are more exciting than what Google could offer for Pro buyers. The XL devices, at least according to leaks, carry some of the least inspiring colorways I've seen. Based on official leaks, the overall design of the phones will mirror the Pixel 9 series, so no significant developments there. And as for hardware, there's arguably more to be excited about with the Pixel 11 series than this year's incoming devices. According to one crystal ball viewing, the promise of 2nm Tensor chips is just one of the potential improvements that could grace the 2026 devices. So, while I should be excited for another big Android flagship smartphone arrival, I'm just not feeling the buzz this year, even as a Pixel phone owner. What are your thoughts about the upcoming Pixel device debuts? Let me know your thoughts. Here are some more questions: Are you excited about this year's Pixel smartphone launch, or are you more intrigued by the peripheral products that should be on display? Which Pixel 10 device are you most likely to purchase (if you're in the market for one)? What are some of the features you're still hoping to see on the Pixel 10 series? What would you want to see if you could wish for a 'one more thing' moment at the upcoming Pixel launch? Be sure to vote in the poll below, too! Based on the leaks so far, which Pixel 10 model would you buy? 2090 votes Pixel 10 38 % Pixel 10 Pro 30 % Pixel 10 Pro XL 26 % Pixel 10 Pro Fold 7 % 👇Sound off in the comments section below with your views.

‘Starting Today'—Microsoft Confirms Free Windows Update

New updates now here. It's now here. Microsoft's controversial u-turn on Windows 10's end of life has morphed into a free update offer, whereby the problem for 700 million users is postponed. Windows 11 is the faster, better, safer option Microsoft wants the 700 million Windows 10 holdouts to move to. But says 'we understand that moving to a new PC can take time, and we're here to support you throughout the process.' In a Tuesday blogpost, Microsoft says 'starting today, individuals will begin to see an enrollment wizard through notifications and in Settings, making it simple to select the best option for you and enroll in ESU directly from your personal Windows 10 PC.' While the u-turn to the free 12-month security update extension has been reported as including a catch, that just means you need to pick one of Microsoft's options. Using OneDrive for example or some of your reward points. It's essentially a free offer. In other news, Microsoft is also pushing the AI benefits of new Copilot PCs hard, touting a range of new features, as well as the latest push for users to switch Chrome for Edge. 'Microsoft Edge is the only browser built for Windows, offering the most seamless PC browsing experience with AI-powered tools, productivity features, and built-in performance and security features that help you browse quickly and safely.' Meantime, for those already on Windows 11, the company is heralding its latest update as 'the most reliable Windows yet.' Compared to Windows 10 22H2,' it says that Windows 11 24H2 'failure rates for unexpected restarts have dropped by 24%. These improvements reflect deep collaboration across engineering, design, and user research teams and a commitment to making Windows more resilient for everyone.' And for those not yet using Windows 11, there's also the new PC-to-PC migration tool making an appearance, per Windows Latest. The new migration feature 'coming to Windows 11 and 10 was expected, but it's the first time Microsoft has shared details.' Whatever you do — extending updates or taking the still free Windows 11 upgrade, just make sure you do something before October when the usual Windows 10 updates end.

Trump has signed the 'GENIUS Act' into law, marking a huge win for the crypto industry that had been lobbying for a regulatory framework to gain greater legitimacy among investors. The crypto legislation landed on Trump's desk after it was passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 308 to 122, following earlier approval in the Senate. The GENIUS Act bans yields, or interest payments, on regulated stablecoins, a move that is helping to boost cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum (ETH) that provide yield generation. Ethereum is currently trading near $3,800, its highest level of the year. Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies whose value is pegged to an underlying asset, typically the U.S. dollar or price of gold. Use Case Stablecoin use has exploded in recent months, with some Wall Street banks such as Bank of America (BAC) announcing plans to launch their own stablecoins. However, news that Trump signed the GENIUS Act into law has crypto stocks such as Coinbase and stablecoin issuer Circle trading lower. Analysts say investors are taking profits after a bull run in the lead-up to the legislation's passage. Other well-known crypto stocks such as Strategy (MSTR) and miners such as Riot Platforms (RIOT) are also trending lower or trading flat on July 22. At the same time, cryptocurrencies are advancing, with prices for digital assets such as Solana (SOL) climbing 5% and Bitcoin (BTC), the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, up 2% in the past 24 hours. Is COIN Stock a Buy? The stock of Coinbase Global has a consensus Moderate Buy rating among 25 Wall Street analysts. That rating is based on 13 Buy, 11 Hold, and one Sell recommendations issued in the last three months. The average COIN price target of $342.40 implies 18.43% downside risk from current levels.
