As part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing communication with media outlets and showcasing its premier banking services, products, and wealth management solutions, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, recently organized a media visit at its Head Office, Airport Heights, attended by Abdulnasir Al Raisi, General Manager of Personal Banking at Bank Muscat, as well as journalists and representatives from various media organizations. This event aimed to inform the audience of the latest developments at the Bank and to present the high-quality banking services available to different segments of society.

During the visit, the Bank's representatives delivered 3 key presentations covering Asalah Priority Banking, Al Jawhar Privilege Banking, private banking, and wealth management. Journalists actively engaged by posing questions related to the banking services and facilities offered through these specialized sectors, fostering a dynamic dialogue between the attendees and Bank's employees.
On this occasion, Taya Eid Bait Sabeea, Deputy General Manager – Interior Regions at Bank Muscat, expressed his satisfaction with organizing the media visit and meeting with media professionals and emphasized the importance of collaboration with various media, including digital platforms, in raising awareness about the Bank's innovative services. He said: 'Bank Muscat offers a wide range of diverse banking products and services across several key categories, including 'Asalah' Priority Banking, 'Al Jawhar' Privilege Banking, Private Banking, and Wealth Management. These services and solutions are specifically designed to meet the varied needs of customers, aiming to provide them with a comprehensive and exceptional banking experience. These offerings combine elements of excellence, innovation, and modern technology. The Bank's commitment to continuously developing and enhancing the features and offerings of these services to ensure they meet customers' expectations and individual needs. This includes providing diverse investment solutions and launching exclusive promotions on debit and credit cards.
From his side, Abdullah Hamood Al Jufaili, Assistant General Manager, Digital Banking at Bank Muscat said: 'The Bank offers these services through dedicated centers located in its branches across various governorates of the Sultanate. For example, Asalah centers are available at select branches and are staffed with specialized relationship managers who provide consultations and inform customers about the services and offers available to this segment. We would like to assure our customers the Bank will continue its commitment to developing its banking services and facilities in line with market developments, while strengthening innovation and sustainability practices across all operations. We extend our sincere appreciation to all customers for their continued trust in the Bank's products and services.'
The media visit encompassed discussions on various primary topics, including a detailed presentation on Asalah Priority Banking, which stands out as one of the Bank's flagship products. The competitive advantages of Asalah membership were highlighted, with services available at 54 specialized centers across various governorates. Attendees were also introduced to advanced digital services that enable customers to manage their finances efficiently, including relationship managers, automated WhatsApp communication, competitive foreign exchange rates, and a daily ATM withdrawal limit of RO 2,000.
Media representatives shared their perspectives on the significance of the meet. Launched in 2015, Al Jawhar Privilege Banking aims to deliver an exceptional banking experience through an exclusive suite of services available at more than 145 branches. Clients benefit from an ATM withdrawal limit of up to RO 1,500, alongside rewards, discounts, and easy interest-free payment plans for credit card holders.
Bank Muscat staff also outlined the benefits available to Private Banking customers, which include a range of effective wealth management solutions, from investment strategies to wealth structuring and consulting services. This clientele enjoys a distinguished level of service, with a daily withdrawal limit of up to RO 2,000, a purchase limit of up to RO 30,000, and a 1% cashback reward on all purchases, along with exclusive discounts at various retailers.

Muscat: Sheikh Ghuson bin Hilal Al Alawi, Chairman of State Audit Institution (SAI) has submitted the SAI 2024 Annual Report on the outcomes of its work to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. Throughout the year, SAI dedicated all its resources and capabilities to fulfilling its national role by carrying out its assigned responsibilities and achieving its objectives with high level of efficiency and professionalism. It also promoted effective institutional and societal partnership in support of the goals of sustainable development. SAI has also sent copies of the Annual Report to the Council of Ministers, the State Council and the Shura Council. This move comes as per Article (66) of the Basic Law of the State, issued under Royal Decree No. 6/2021, and Article (29) of State Audit Law, issued under Royal Decree No. 111/2011. These articles stipulate that SAI (the Authority) shall prepare an annual report on the results of its work, and the Chairman of the Institution (Authority) submits it directly to His Majesty the Sultan. A copy of the report is also sent to the Council of Ministers, State and Shura Councils before the end of the following financial year. The report included several topics resulting from SAI's exercise of its mandates and audit of government units, authorities, investments, and companies subject to its audit, in accordance with the approved 2024 annual audit plan. The execution of these tasks took into consideration the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and was guided by the principles, foundations, and standard guidelines of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), particularly with regard to comprehensiveness, clarity, conciseness, accuracy, objectivity, and audit manuals. Based on materiality and risk analysis, and applying the principle of sample-based auditing, SAI carried out 225 audit tasks, which resulted in 172 audit reports. The findings were communicated to the relevant entities, which responded positively by taking corrective actions and implementing SAI's recommendations. In addition, some irregularities that constituted criminal suspicions were referred to the Public Prosecution for appropriate legal action. The report also included a statement outlining SAI's efforts to promote integrity, presenting statistics on financial and administrative violations and the actions taken in response. It also covered following up on the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption, as well as SAI's participation in the meetings, conferences, relevant agreements, and committees associated with it. In addition, the report detailed SAI's review of draft laws, regulations, and systems prepared by the entities subject to the audit of SAI, providing comments regarding them. The report also showcased SAI's efforts in carrying out a number of awareness activities and training programs, and preparing related manuals aimed at protecting public fund and promoting integrity. The Annual Report also included the review of various topics within government units, such as the audit of the State's final account for the year 2024, review of tax collection and assessment, review of financial and administrative activities, and evaluation of the performance of certain directorates and departments within these units. With regard to matters related to the activities of authorities, investments, and companies, the report covered several topics related to the sectors of energy, minerals, aviation, environment, electricity, water, food security, wastewater, and other important matters that were reported to the relevant entities along with SAI's observations and recommendations. With regard to community partnership, based on the principle that protecting public fund is a joint responsibility, SAI dealt with 1,378 complaints and reports in 2024 concerning financial and administrative violations, the integrity of awarding some tenders, abuse of power, and other related issues. These were received through various communication channels, and approximately 90% of the complaints and reports have been examined and addressed. It is important to note that SAI's complaints and reports window was selected as one of the best practices by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). The report also featured an overview of the key media and awareness initiatives undertaken by SAI, aimed at fostering optimal awareness and adherence to ethical practices at both institutional and societal levels. A total of 187 media and awareness programs, activities, and events were carried out in 2024.

Muscat: The Ministry of Labour today inaugurated a three-day development workshop on training governance, aimed at conducting a comprehensive assessment and proposing realistic, effective, sustainable, and streamlined initiatives and projects for the training system. Salim Musallam Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development, stated that the workshop seeks to reshape the future of government and private training, as well as vocational education in Oman. It aims to develop a roadmap aligning all training pathways with the objectives and enablers of Oman Vision 2040, which prioritizes human capital development. The workshop will examine key facts, identify general challenges, and reach consensus on solutions. It will also review initiatives, finalize detailed draft plans, and assess the quality of planning and implementation of Oman Vision 2040 within the Ministry of Labour. Additionally, the event will analyze challenges facing the training sector, explore updated laws and regulations for training governance, and propose projects and initiatives to enhance and regulate the training and human resources development sector in Oman.
