Veteran actor Paresh Rawal, renowned for his impeccable comic timing in films like Hera Pheri and Oh My God, shares a heartwarming love story with his wife, Swaroop Sampat. Their journey from a chance meeting to a lasting partnership is a testament to love, patience, and mutual respect. When the duo starred together in the play Shaadi@Barbaadi.com, they chatted with fans on Rediff, and Paresh Rawal's replies about marriage caught everyone's attention.
When a fan asked, 'Paresh bhai are U online or not?" The actor responded, 'Dialogue: Marriage is like a war. The only difference is in a marriage, you get to sleep with the enemy…" Another fan asked, 'Paresh Ji Hume gussa aa raha hai. Aap Humare sawaal ka jawab nahi de rahe hain ??? — Joke sunao tumhare kisi natak ka???" The actor responded, 'Getting married is like going to a restaurant.. You order something, and when you get the food, you prefer the dish the other guy ordered…"

In 1987, after 12 years of courtship, they married in a private ceremony at Mumbai's Lakshmi Narayan Temple, keeping the event intimate with just close family and friends.
Swaroop, a former Miss India and actress known for her role in the iconic TV series Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, transitioned into education and child development. Paresh has been a steadfast supporter of her endeavours, often attending events and launches to show his unwavering support.
Together, they have two sons, Aditya and Anirudh. Aditya has pursued a career in screenwriting, while Anirudh has worked as an assistant director in the film industry.

'Paresh Rawal told me sorry for leaving 'Hera Pheri 3,' says Priyadarshan as the film-maker reacts to his return: 'Akshay, Suniel, and he met cordially and sorted'

Paresh Rawal is finally back to the 'Hera Pheri' franchise after announcing his exit from the third installment of the film. Things have clearly not been easy when it comes to 'Hera Pheri 3', as there have been several glitches in the making. Just when one thought that everything is finally falling into place, Rawal announced he no longer is a part of the film. Akshay's production house has bought the rights of the movie, and hence a legal action was taken against Paresh. Reacting to what happened and how things are sorted, Priyadarshan told Mid-day, "Both Akshay and Paresh called to say that everything is sorted. I was in shock when Paresh said, 'Sir, I'm doing the movie'. He added, 'I have never had anything except a lot of respect for you. I've done 26 movies with you, and I'm sorry to have left the film. There were some personal issues.' He said that Akshay, Suniel, and he met cordially and sorted it out.' Now that Rawal is back on board, Priyadarshan will finally start serious work on the script. He added, "Whatever I do, I cannot surpass Hera Pheri [2000]. The second part [Phir Hera Pheri, 2006] was bad; it was a copy of a Hollywood movie." He said further, "Hera Pheri cannot happen without any of the three lead characters. Recently, on a flight, a diamond merchant and his family came to me and requested me to bring Paresh back. They said they won't watch the film otherwise.' There have been reports that Sajid Nadiadwala and Ahmed Khan were instrumental in this patch-up but Priyadarshan denied their involvement. Meanwhile, the same publication quoted a source saying, "Paresh's stance initially softened when Akshay firmly defended him at the Housefull 5 trailer launch, where a journalist called the senior actor 'foolish' for leaving Hera Pheri 3. Then on Paresh's birthday, Akshay called to wish him. The superstar told him that while movies will come and go, their friendship should withstand the test of time as they go back a long way. After that, the two met along with Suniel (Shetty)."

A source was quoted by Mid-day saying, "Paresh's stance initially softened when Akshay firmly defended him at the Housefull 5 trailer launch, where a journalist called the senior actor 'foolish' for leaving Hera Pheri 3. Then on Paresh's birthday, Akshay called to wish him. The superstar told him that while movies will come and go, their friendship should withstand the test of time as they go back a long way. Meanwhile, Priyadarshan also reacted to the news of Rawal returning to 'Hera Pheri 3' and told Mid-day, "Both Akshay and Paresh called to say that everything is sorted. I was in shock when Paresh said, 'Sir, I'm doing the movie'. He added, 'I have never had anything except a lot of respect for you. I've done 26 movies with you, and I'm sorry to have left the film. ‘Paresh Rawal said sorry for leaving Hera Pheri 3': Priyadarshan said Akshay Kumar, Paresh called him together, said issue is ‘sorted'

Paresh Rawal confirmed last Sunday that his issues with the makers of Hera Pheri 3 have been resolved amicably, and that he's back in the film. While no official statement from producer Akshay Kumar and the film's team has been made yet, director Priyadarshan has now confirmed that the threequel is back on track. 'Both Akshay and Paresh called to say that everything is sorted,' he said, adding, 'I was in shock when Paresh said, 'Sir, I'm doing the movie. I have never had anything except a lot of respect for you. I've done 26 movies with you, and I'm sorry to have left the film. There were some personal issues.'' In the interview with Mid-Day, the filmmaker also said that Akshay, Paresh, and Suniel Shetty met with each other to resolve the issues. 'Hera Pheri cannot happen without any of the three lead characters. Recently, on a flight, a diamond merchant and his family came to me and requested me to bring Paresh back. They said they won't watch the film otherwise,' said Priyadarshan. The director will now start writing the script of Hera Pheri 3, and the production is supposed to start by the end of this year, with a release planned for next year. However, Neeraj Vora who served as a screenwriter on the first part, and also as a director on the 2006 sequel Phir Hera Pheri, won't be there to collaborate this time around. He died of a stroke in 2017. 'Whatever I do, I cannot surpass Hera Pheri. The second part was bad; it was a copy of a Hollywood movie,' said Priyadarshan. Phir Hera Pheri was allegedly a rip-off of Guy Ritchie's 1998 neo-noir black comedy crime drama Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Priyadarshan also denied any rumoured involvement of producer Sajid Nadiadwala and filmmaker Ahmed Khan in the patching up of Akshay and Paresh. Before Hera Pheri 3, Akshay, Paresh, and Suniel will also share screen space in Ahmed's adventure comedy Welcome to the Jungle, which is the threequel of Anees Bazmee's 2007 cult comedy Welcome. While Paresh was a part of Welcome and its 2015 sequel Welcome Back, Akshay was only in the first film. Suniel is a new entrant in the franchise. While Akshay had initially walked out of the film, he rejoined it after buying the franchise's rights from Firoz Nadiadwala. Once Priyadarshan also came onboard to direct, Paresh walked out of the film without citing any particular reasons officially. Akshay even sued Paresh for violating his contract. Akshay and Paresh will also be seen sharing screen space in Priyadarshan's horror comedy Bhooth Bangla, which is slated to release in cinemas on April 2, 2026.
