Breaking the Family Mould
Speaking to Lehren Retro, Karisma addressed this directly, saying,
"If my father and his brother could marry heroines, why can't the women of the family work in films? It's the same thing."
At a time when daughters-in-law like Babita and Neetu Singh had given up acting after marriage, Karisma's decision to pursue acting marked a turning point. She dismissed assumptions that Kapoor women were barred from the screen, stating,
'I don't know why everybody is under this illusion.
My father encourages me now. Even my grandfather said, 'Lolo baby, if you become an actress, be the best — otherwise don't.''
Facing the Camera for the First Time
Although her debut film Prem Qaidi released in 1991, Karisma's first shooting experience came during the filming of Nishchay in 1990, which released later in 1992. She recalled her first day on set fondly, sharing, "I had waited so long to face the camera. It was so nice. I shot a short scene with
Salman Khan
and Reema Lagoo. Everyone, including the director, was incredibly sweet and made me feel comfortable.'
She also noted that she never did a screen test, making her debut feel even more personal and organic.
On the other hand, Karisma Kapoor's previous outing was 'Murder Mubarak' which was directed by Homi Adajania.

Aastha Khanna, India's first intimacy coordinator, recently spoke about her experience working with Vijay on multiple sets, including 'Murder Mubarak' and 'Lust Stories 2'. Her words offered rare insight into the behind-the-scenes energy he brings. When asked if any actor stood out for going the extra mile to create a safe and comforting space for their co-stars, Aastha didn't skip a beat. She said during a chat with We Are Yuva, 'Vijay Varma is one of those people. I have found it so amazing to work with him. And I've worked on three projects with him now. On all three projects, he's just the most giving actor.' She went on to describe how Vijay contributes to an atmosphere of ease and openness during shoots. "He just holds space, and he will communicate with his co-performer—even if it's cracking jokes to make them laugh, and not in a way that is weird, but in a way that's friendly, to make someone feel a lot more at ease in their space. He's definitely one of those people. Vijay is full green flag energy," said Aastha. Known for his intense roles, Vijay continues to receive recognition not just for his on-screen range but also for his professional integrity. Fans recently saw another side of him when he appeared on 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', along with Prateik Gandhi, Jaideep Ahlawat and Jitendra Kumar. Allegations by Sunjay Kapur's Mother Rani Kapur After Sanjay Kapur's sudden death, a dispute has surfaced within the family over who will take over his legacy. His mother, Rani Kapur, has raised serious allegations. She claimed that during the time of mourning, she was kept away from key decisions, and was pressured to sign certain documents. She also accused the company's board of appointing Sanjay's wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur, as a non-executive director without the family's consent. However, the company strongly denied these claims. In its official response, the company said that Rani Kapur has not held any shares since 2019, and that all decisions were made legally and in line with company rules. What did Karisma Kapoor and her children receive? According to Forbes, Sunjay Kapur's total wealth was estimated at around USD 1.2 billion (approximately Rs. 10,300 crore). As per his will and trust, the entire estate will now be managed by his wife Priya Sachdev Kapur. This means that the share meant for their son Azarius will be handled indirectly by his mother. Sunjay Kapur was earlier married to Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, but the couple divorced in 2016. They have two children together — Samaira (20) and Kiaan (14). Financial arrangements for these children were made in advance. As per reports: Both children were gifted bonds worth Rs. 14 crore. They also receive a monthly income of Rs. 10 lakh each. In addition, a property in Sunjay Kapur's father's name was allotted to Karisma Kapoor as part of the custody settlement.
