Watch: Mumford & Sons shock Dublin revellers with surprise gig
The band, fronted by Marcus Mumford, are headlining at Malahide on Friday, to over 20,000 fans of the folk band.

A video of the band playing Little Lion Man was shared to TikTok by Universal Music, with some fans of the band who were in the city (just not the pub) raging that they missed out on the intimate gig.
'One day I'll be in the right place at the right time,' one person wrote, while another commented 'damn it I should have stayed in Dublin just 1 extra night.'
Another person who was in the beer garden managed to get several videos of the secret gig, where Marcus joked that the fans needed to 'play a game of shut the f**k up' (granted, it was probably necessary as there were no mics), before the crowd sang along with them and regaled them in an olé olé chant. For those who were unlucky enough not to get to O'Donoghue's but have tickets for the Malahide gig on Friday, MCD have confirmed that gates will be opening at 4pm, with the opening acts — consisting of Divorce, Odhran Murphy and Lisa Hannigan — kicking off at around 5pm.
Concertgoers are advised to take public transport to and from Malahide tonight, with three Dublin Bus routes connecting at Malahide.
The DART also heads straight to Malahide Castle, while Marathon Coaches will offer private coaches from North Wall Quay and from stops outside Dublin including Drogheda, Naas, Maynooth and Navan. The band will play Malahide on Friday night. Pic: Universal Music Ireland

Mumford and Sons stunned the punters at a Dublin pub after playing a surprise gig ahead of their massive Malahide show on Friday. The I Will Wait songwriters took to the stage at the famous Malahide Castle on Friday to perform a sold out show to 20,000 fans, but ahead of the show the UK folk outfit popped into an iconic Dublin city pub. On Thursday, the trio headed to the beloved O'Donoghue's Pub on Merrion Row to play a pop-up show for patrons, Dublin Live reports. There was an exciting atmosphere in the beer garden at O'Donoghue's as the group treated pub goers to a set of their classics and newer hits.
